Anyone else find the slipstreaming not powerful enough? At times in 2019 i thought it was a bit too powerful but i really dont notice a difference when u get into a slipstream on 2020, even with ers and drs.

Hi everyone, Green '+' figures on the game and driver indicates a temporary boost on the drivers stats compared to natural development of the driver. We are looking at improving this system to make it clearer to people on what is temporary and a permanent upgrade to the stats.

Bear in mind that a rushed and poorly tested update runs the risk of causing more problems than it solves.

Hi Codemasters 🙂 Is it possible to add "practice starts" after practice sessions, like they do in formula 1 or from pit lane and pull over to the right and practice starts there. So far the only way i can practice my starts is from restart the race session. Hope it can get added 🙂

I think the penalty system does need adjusting on strict. For example I got punished with a 10 second penalty after a racing incident as I was knocked across the corner instead of being able to take it properly (see attached). Regular does feel to lenient as well, especially when it comes to corner cutting. AT-cm_785129695.mp4

I am really dissapointed that I can't change the language in the game. I now have Dutch but I want to have English because it's a lot nicer for F1 and the translations are just very weird. I would also like to hear Crofty and Anthony Davidson because Olav Mol doesn't sound like he does on real broadcasts and the other guy I don't even know who that is. (I watch F1 on Dutch TV so that should say something) please codies have an update to the game where language changing is possible! I'm on PS4 so I can't change stuff in the files

Exactly that is that law that protects vulnerable people and kids in Belgium. If you look at the microtransactions in F1 2020 they did the right thing. I can understand you don't like a shop in the game but this is 2020. We have evolved from the Atari and Commodore games. If you can open a shop in the game why wouldn't you? Because some people don't like it? If the human race had acted like that through the entire history of our race we wouldn't even have gotten to video games. We still would using fire because some people would argue electricity is the work of the devil. You made it sound like Codemasters is selling smurfberries. Because that was preying on children. There is nothing to buy with pitcoins that makes you advance in the game or get better. It's just cosmetics. Lots of games have this and mostly I don't care about them because I don't care what my rifle looks like or I'm just not invested enough in the game to buy any DLC. Formula 1 is different for me, I'm invested in this game and will be playing it for months so yes I'm surely gonna spend a few Pitcoins (real cash) on it. The argument for having all the cosmetics at the start doesn't hold up in how this game works. With or without the podium pass you would have to unlock the liveries as you progress in your career. So there would have always been something like podium pass even without microtransactions the unlocking would work the same way and you wouldn't be able to have other liveries than the once you unlock. Pitcoins makes it possible to buy other ones then the ones you will unlock eventually. Last year you had to wait months before the DLC came out. Now you can start buying that DLC right away. Microtransactions will be in every game soon, better start getting used to it because you will not be able to sway the public opinion or stop the companies from doing microtransactions. What you should be focussing on is companies that doing the unacceptable not companies that help guide microtransactions in the right direction. Does the Podium Pass have flaws? Probably but I havent found them yet. If the Podium Pass was unfair I would be burning the forum down in anger

Hopefully never because I dislike the thought of artificially making things slower for casual players using assists (which is most definitely the majority of players) just because some people who want ultra realism (who are definitely the minority) can't take a hit to their ego that an automatic system is at least equally fast than them. Instead they should split the time trial leaderboards, leagues etc into using Assists and using No Assists. Call it Pro league if it pleases your ego. That is the most proper action that could be taken when it comes to that and then no nerfs would be necessary and everyone could be happy.

Having played the game for a bit last night, one bit that i think could be improved is the Overtake button. Currently you press it to activate & then press it again to turn it off. I find this quite cumbersome and think it would be better if there was option for it to only work when the button is held down. This stops it being accidently left on at the end of a straight and is more in keeping with how its usually used which is for a couple of seconds early in the straight. I'm not sure how its used in real life, but i don't think it would hurt to add it in as an option

I feel like this will help people who don't use line find people who are on the same assists as them and try to beat them

Hello everybody, unfortunately in F1 2020 all driver positions are still not shown on the left like in the TV graphics, now at least five if I saw correctly. Is there a way for the PC version to display all drivers like in the TV graphics? Kind Regards pspsps1983

It was possible in 2019 and every game before AI transfers were a thing and it's how I'd still like to play it as well to be honest. I just prefer playing against the realistic grid line-up while still having a chance to make it to a top team.

Looks like someone made this PC mod for F1 2019. Has anyone used it? Hopefully they make something like this for F1 2020. @FIE would love it.

I don't know why people want this so much it would take up a fifth of the screen and would make it so the car that you are driving isn't centered. It just doesn't make any sense. There is already enough going on on screen with the lap count, minimal position screen that already exists, the MFD, on screen status updates about retirements and such, the car or cockpit depending on the view you use when you drive not mention the need to see the track and your surroundings. I'm not sure that the impediment that a larger list would cause is worth the trouble. Do you want to feel like you are driving the car? Or do you want to feel like you are watching the race on TV? It isn't like basketball or hockey where you control an entire team, so slot of these things don't seem to add much to the proceedings

at 95% in game you are saturating the FFB, so you will not feel any change in the FFB until is too late. I recommend 100% in wheel app and not more than 70% in game. I typically use around 60% to feel more the car. yes it can be a bit weak perhaps, but the signal goes to 100% at high speed due to amount of downforce. I could make it more linear and just have it more heavy from low to high speed, but, you wouldn't feel the tyres loading up through downforce, and I personally don't like that, so I designed the downforce this way. The only set back is that, at very slow speed, if you have a not so strong wheel, the ffb will feel a little weak.

I vote for push and hold or at least the option for either. I have forgot to turn it off a number of times and totally drained the battery.

I'll prefer 1 Mugello or Algarve than 10/20 fictional tracks. If they want to add tracks, they must be Classic tracks

Im disappointed by the wet weather AI, I've done 2 whole races in my career so far and the AI never put a foot wrong, always on rails. Its wet you would expect a lock up, have some oversteer and some slides here or there, I mean, I'm furiously doing all those things in 1 corner sometimes. Very boring.

Hi @BarryBL, I understand there's no competitive advantage in there, but that's not the issue or point. All I wanted to do, was start my own singleplayer myteam and customise it to my preferance from the get-go and not have to grind to unlock a few cosmetics. The myteam thing was advertised as 'create your own team' meaning create a team in your own image, your own style, but that has seriously been hampered by the fact that there's next to no liveries, helmet designs etc at the start. The fact that there were plenty of helmet designs for singleplayer in previous games, shows that content has been deliberately held back to try and make more money out of those who want the items now, instead of grinding through. And that's my main issue, with-holding content in a fully priced game to try and monetize it. If there was a full selection of designs from the start (as there has been in previous games) and you then decided to add a few more extra designs on top of that in the future and have people either pay or grind for them, then that wouldn't be as bad. (Because it's something extra added to the game)

Totally agree with you. Cutting out content in a fully priced game to try and sell it back to people at a later date is nothing more than a sleazy con. And to use the excuse of "it's to encourage people to play the game more" is ridiculous. If you're game is good and the modes are fun, then people WILL play and explore the game naturally. I really don't understand people who are trying to defend this, especially when we've had a lot of customisable helmet designs etc for free, available to everyone at the start of the game in pretty much every other F1 game!

I've always been against MTX in full priced AAA games. They shouldn't be there full stop even if I can earn the item through just playing the game. It's feeding on those that have little will power to get more money from them and IMO is wrong. I'm fine with items held back for you to EARN them through skill or progression as a challenge or some kind of badge of honour but to add a monetary value to them teasing people to pay extra to get them early even though they are a apart of the full game that you've already paid for is just a greedy tactic to get more money. Yes I don't have to buy into it all and I won't but that's not the point. If things have been created for the final game to be unlocked by players by playing through, then you should not attach money to said items for people to be tempted to put more money into it. If you want to do something similar, create additional content and add-ons which can be purchased in ADDITION to the full game but don't then cut out part of the full game just to sell later. What I mean is obvious things that should already be a part of the full game clearly just kept back to sell back to us later. It's all about profit and feeding on those that just have to have things now with no will power. Basically like those who choose to pre-order the "special edition" to get early access. The content is not worth a 1/3 of the price of the full game firstly so these companies are rubbing their hands with greed. It's got nought to do with supporting the company and that **** excuse. If you want to do that go and invest in them. They make a decent profit from these games already otherwise they would've upped the base price of the game or given in already. MTX is OK in Fortnite or games similar as it's a free game. This is not! Anyways just a rant as I hate MTX in paid games although they may be optional - shoddy business practice.

Sadly this practice isn't going anywhere because for as long as a few people buy into it and enough people don't buy the game because it happens, it's going to make them a net profit which is all almost anyone who makes these decisions cares about. May be less true of Codemasters, but it's generally true of the video game industry in general. The idea of having free to play style micro transactions in a full priced game is extremely rude. Codemasters is far from the biggest offender and it's only cosmetic for now, but really I die a little inside when people just 'accept' nonsense like this because how long before we get full blown up free to play style mechanics in full priced games? It's already happened in some cases. So no, I have no patience for excuses like. 'You can earn it through playing and things sometimes have to be earned in games' and 'It's just there to speed things up' or 'it's optional' and 'It's only cosmetic' which the latter is an argument I used to go for but now that is being abused and it's a slippery slope and history has proven this time and time again. Here's the thing. If 'playing the game' to earn something is undesirable and thus you want to 'speed things up' something is wrong, you shouldn't want to 'speed it up', it means that the game is made deliberately grindy to encourage you to open your wallet. Games that traditionally allowed players to unlock stuff had a very clear path on how to do it and you could usually beeline to what you wanted and there isn't a time limit on it either. This is not true in games with a 'buy coins to do x' system. There's usually one way or another they want to trick people into paying for something that they didn't have to pay for before. In this case it's blatantly obvious because some of this content was available in 2019. The real funny thing? In this case, on a personal level I don't even care. I'm not hard to please when it comes to cosmetics on the most part.

Dear god guys. Learn to drive ON the track. Keep 2 wheels inside or on the white track line and there's no issue. The setting is called STRICT not REALISTIC. Strict is as per the rules which is you should not be going off track. Track is defined by the white lines. Hence strict will warn you if you go 4 wheels outside the white lines. You can drive a good lap while within the track limits you know 😉 EDIT: And if you refer to real life GPs again, please note that the stewards do NOT follow the rules on track limits and actually make their own rules each race week. How do you expect Codies to be able to program something to keep up with that? To do it as STRICT, it's as per the rules 😜
