6 pointsI'm not sure about adding the new tracks but i would say if codemasters accidentally deleted Hanoi off the game at the next patch it wouldn't be the worst thing.......
-
5 pointsAs an Xbox player, technically the game was not "unplayable", but it was frustrating enough to make me NOT want to play it before the 1.05 patch, but now with the new bug that forces the camera to look back under breaking or left/right under steering, it definitely is unplayable. I have enough faith in Codies that they will fix the issues, and I'm grown up enough to know that the current global pandemic has no doubt had an impact on the development of this game. It's unfortunate because the gameplay is so much fun!
-
5 pointsLots of sensible posts above and I'll just add one comment. Nobody buying the game should have been in any doubt about what tracks were going to be included, and there has been no suggestion whatsoever from Codemasters that additional tracks would be added to this. As such there is zero reason for any sense of entitlement for new tracks to be added, even if it were technically possible.

5 pointsSome of the things written in this thread show that there are people out there who really have no idea what it takes to create all the parts that go into a game like this. Although not a programmer myself, my son used to work for Codemasters on some of the 'Grid' titles, so I know how long these things take to produce.....and also the pressure that the teams have to work under to meet deadlines.

5 pointsHave you ever made high quality 3D assests (including normal textures, specular maps, and anything else required) for a project like a track in a racing game? I have, it takes a lot of time and effort to do, even for a sizable team. The fact you and the op seem to think that Codemaster can just snap their fingers and have 4 new tracks added into the game just like that, shows you have absolutly zero clue how much work is actually involved. The whole process starts with scouting the location, taking referance photos, taking measurements of absolutly everything from kerb size, run off size, wall height size, fence height. The whole lot needs to be gathered in order to ensure the scale is correct once they make it in 3D for the game. Not to mention hiring and transporting of any equiptment they might need, such as scanners and specilised surveying tools. After all that, someone then needs to process all that data and add it into Codemasters internal server database, and only after all that work is done can they begin recreating it for the game. Your looking at up to a month+ just for them to begin making a single track, given the current world situation. And thats assuming Codemasters want to put their dev team at increased risk of Covid in the process, since, you know, it hasnt gone away yet. Honestly, some people have some major rose tinted glasses and blinkers on!

5 pointsI do hope Codemasters will be releasing a patch to remove all the tracks in the game that are no longer on this year's calendar...
-
5 pointsIt may have escaped your attention, but this year's fairly unique in that nobody saw this coming, the game and tracks were already planned out and CM had added the tracks F1 had adopted. Since even F1 and FIA haven't been able to make this announcement until today, what do you expect the developers to do? What a ridiculous, fatuous demand to make.

4 pointsI hope this thread gets a little bit of attention... Topic: F1 2020 don't let us invite friends to ranked lobbies anymore. Why they probably done that: To ensure, friends don't boost each other to ranks they don't deserve. To ensure, friends with D rank don't get invited to S or A lobbies. This leads to: Many players stopped playing lobbies at all. The playerbase is obviously smaller than in F1 2018. S-Lobbies are rare. To find lobbies at all, they put S-players in C/D-Lobbies nethertheless. Most time you will find no ranked lobby at all 25% lobbies are dead. plus: ranked is not a bit fairer than in F1 2018 My personal experience: I am a community leader from germany. We are 750 gamers and 70 active F1 players (in our 3 leagues) at the moment. Our community and the friends from other german communities loved F1 2018 and loved playing ranked together. We don't have a single unfair player with us. Almost everyday a few of us played ranked together and we enjoyed that a lot. It is a good distraction from league races. ...Why would you play alone when you are in teamspeak with other people. Now we as a whole community stopped playing lobbies... From what I read hear and on reddit, ranked is not a bit fairer than in F1 2018. Also boosting was never a problem in F1 2018. Not like in other games like rocket league (where you still can play ranked with friends and it works great). "Just play unranked" Most players just play to compare themselves with others in competitive manner. And almost every other game let people do that with their friends. PC-Gamers trend to play games in teams und often don't care about unranked modes at all. Also unfair players are allowed to crash you in every second corner without any punishment. You can't avoid this people in unranked. We want to play together with other people online the drive as fair as we do. Suggestion There will still be people out there that will disagree with this thread. I hope all players that usually play ranked alone won't dislike this thread straightforward. 1) There is a simple solution: Bring friend-invites back, but if the safety rank of the invited player don't fits the regulations of the lobby put him in visitor state. Of course: In a C-Lobby you should still be allowed to invite S-ranked friends as they should be aware of possible D-ranked players in this lobby. Kind regards, iosis

4 pointsWith today's news that the Nurgburgring, Portimao, and Imola are set to be added to the 2020 F1 calendar, the total number of tracks in the 2020 Formula 1 championship that are currently not represented in the F1 2020 game rises to four (4). In order for the game to adequately represent the 2020 F1 season, developing and adding these tracks should be a top priority. Questions about the addition of new tracks to the game have been met with comments about the extensive time and manpower needed to make this a reality. This should not be an excuse. Codemasters hold the exclusive rights to the F1 franchise. To show that they are deserving of that honor, they need to dedicate the time, money, and manpower to get these tracks into the game. Edit 2: I realize that making definitive statements about the feasibility of adding new tracks isn't reasonable (or the un-feasibility, as some of you seem to think you have so much inside knowledge about). Feasibility isn't really the most important thing in this discussion and I should not have made that a part of the original post. The most important thing is letting it be known that having more tracks in the game is something I value a lot. Codemaster's response to this should not be to dismiss the idea and say that it simply cannot be done (and why some of you are so quick to furiously defend them on this, I do not understand. It's like a cult in here). The first thing they should be saying is, "We'll see what we can do". Maybe new circuits will not make it into F1 2020, but they should at least be exploring the possibility, scoping out the requirements. There is still the possibility that tracks outside the normal calendar (whether new or classic) could make it into future games. That will only happen if Codemasters see that there is sufficient desire for it. Instead of clamoring to say how impossible or unreasonable it is to have more tacks, why not say, yes, we would like more tracks. Full stop. Let them worry about the logistics.
-
4 pointsI don't, and nor do I make any claims to be a top driver. I am not. I don't think this makes any difference to what I've posted though. The track limits are the same for everyone in your league and you just need to drive to these. I would like to see track limits that were as close as possible to real F1, but I don't think the game is somehow broken or unplayable without this.
-
4 pointsI've actually spoken with someone who works at Codemasters Birmingham. I'm not gonna say their name or department they work in because I don't want to give Codemasters the chance to have an excuse to kick anybody out (as I know this has happened before), but this is what they said: "Codemasters know the game has lots of issues and glitches, but they still get lots of sales so they don't worry about it much". "They also decide to make a new game every year for bigger sales rather than DLC to fix issues or update to a new season". Make of it what you will, but is this really a company who cares about their market?
-
4 pointsWow. Just wow. Some of the entitlement in this thread... Surely some people in this thread aren’t actually being serious? I mean, expecting Codemasters to just employ more staff to get the job done, and that this should be there absolute priority and that invest more resources to get it done quicker. At what cost? To the detriment of ALL of their upcoming titles? And have some people been in a coma for the last 4 months or has Covid escaped your memories? Companies don’t have the money to just hire more staff and then on top of that, spend god knows how much money it would cost to do all the work that some of the more knowledgable people in this thread, said it would involve. I don’t know if this would be done when designing the track but if not, then afterwards they would also have to implement all the physics, (car behaviour on / off track, racing line, wet weather physics etc) Then the AI would need to be programmed which I would imagine be another huge job to add to the mammoth task of adding a track, let alone FOUR tracks!!!! I would much rather they spend their time fixing the bugs and making the game as issue free as possible. I don’t usually chirp up on these kind of threads but this is a belter! Some people really need to come back to Earth.
-
4 pointsThere is a way of bringing up an issue and this isn’t it. Please have some consideration for the Codemasters team who have worked night and day to get this game out. Yes there are issues but this isn’t going to help.
-
3 pointsAlthough it's nice to see it confirmed and although I take this being truthful with scepticism (as anything on the net needs to be taken these days), this is how all companies in this industry works these days. People want, want, want and will always buy faulty games just to have it. Then moan after. Then buy the next game. Then moan as it's buggy and....well you see where I'm going.
-
3 pointsThat's not the point. You should be as fast as possible, but within the given limits. Thats the point here. If you use strict rules you have to deal with it. If it means you lost a tenth in a corner, than do it or get a penalty, but don't blame the game. Otherwise we could skip all the limits.
-
3 pointsNah that requires too much maturity Better to spend the money, then come here and whine.

3 pointsPointless thread with stupid demands and **** list of reasoning. It can't be done, end of story. Best we can hope for in terms of experiencing these tracks is a 'covid calendar 2020' season as part of F1 2021, and even then I think thays pushing it for get 4 new circuits done. Get real and pipe down.
-
3 pointsOh, I see. That's a known glitch, very infamous in the sim racing community. It's a case of the PICNICs. Problem in chair, not in car.
-
3 pointsWell my view on it is in the game we are playing is the official f1 2020 season what's happening in the real world is a revised calender for the 2020 season which is being updated on the go and is now completely different to the official f1 2020 season as now we have some races already cancelled. One other thing is codemasters employees may have to be either working from or socially distancing which isn't always easy in a workspace. I would like to say its not that the people in this discussion have a can't do attitude but rather we understand the constraints codemasters are in and being realistic. Almost every big game has been delayed and I'm amazed we still got the 2020 game at the beginning of July. Edit:one thing I thought about is also programming the ai to drive on the track create the cutsenes get the approval to use ads on the track program the pitlane being made ect. make up the areas for yellow flags and areas where vsc and sc maybe activated then also how tyre will degrade on the track. If they were to make a track they have to go their and with the current ups and down of covid-19 happening in many countries its not going to be easy in the short amount of timeframe you may never know it could be something they might look at for the future but doubt it will be implemented during the f1 2020 timeframe.
-
3 pointsOk so test this. Do that again but this time pause the game, check the replay and then see if you were off track. I guarantee you were even by a smidge. Your racing view does not tell you where the outside of your tyres are in relation to the track. If on the off chance I am wrong and you were still on track, then create a bug report with the video and Codies will sort it.

3 pointsYeah, this sounds more like a driver issue than a game issue. Not something I've experienced. It's posts like this that make me wonder why Codies would even have a public form. People who act like this dont deserve the attention of the developers, let alone the time of day. Grow up, present your case like an adult respectfully and maybe then people might have the slightest concern.
