3 pointsI’ve never posted on this forum before, but i had to make an account because i am actually baffled how it’s been 4 days and my game is still unplayable with a wheel on xbox (g920). When i brake the camera looks back, when i accelerate the camera looks up and when i turn so does my view. I always have patience with developers but when i’ve had to wait 4 days (who knows how many more) and there’s still been no fix to a bug that makes the game unplayable to wheel users is beyond a joke. I’ve payed my hard earn money to play a full finished product but this bug along with a whole bundle of other issues this game has is utterly ridiculous. Ban me from this forum or whatever but codemasters you need to sort yourself out. Stop spending your time promoting this broken game with FIFA youtubers to other unknowing buyers and start focusing on the core issues at hand.

2 pointsIn future titles you could add 75% race distance. I think it will be interesing. Maybe 2stop strategy will be more sensible. We have 25 % so why we don't have 75%? 😅.

2 pointsMan this game has best handling of any F1 game out there. Cars feel so much smoother to drive then F1 2018. Previous ones I've owned are F1 2013, F1 2018 and this and this is so much better. Only thing annoying is the bugs but sure they will get fixed eventually. 9/10

2 pointsThat's assuming (1) FIA will hold the license for those tracks for future years or (2) not oppose to Codemasters including them in the game if they're an one-time only inclusion to the F1 2020 season. In the latter, that's also assuming that (3) the rights to represent a digital version of those tracks in interactive media are not held exclusively by publishers of other sim racers like Assetto, rFactor and so on. To all that may be concerned, even the most demanding of sim racers out there admit that while Codemasters game is more arcadey then other simulators, no one does Formula 1 better than Codie. And that's due to the immersion, presentation and simulation of all those little tiny minute details, like a new part being considered fitted in your car only after it leaves the garage and the transponders in the marshals office beeps, no matter how many days have passed since you installed that new component in it. So many little details! So yes, it would not only be a joy for us to have Portimao and Nurburgring on the roster in the, but also in Codemasters best interest to keep being the best package for the F1 experience. If it is feasible in the legal sense, I'm confident they will do their best to schedule these additions to their road map and secure the proper funds to do so without (too much of) a compromise to other aspects of long term game development. C'mon, it does not matter how much of a skeptical you are in the "companies only want money" spiel. To me, it seems obvious that our interest as fans and Codies' as a studio and publisher align in this matter, so even if I saw capitalism as the love child of the devil I'd still believe that as long as it is feasible, they will most definitely come.

2 points@PJTierney I must be brain dead because David's comment was in direct reply to me. I'll quote the prophet: So yes, Overtake does not spill the MGU-K precious elixir until you upshift to gear #2. That explains a lot @Ultra3142. Now I'm certain there must be the perfect formula for a perfect start, but I'm more of a "the optimal way is your way" kind of guy in this regard. I play on a pad and have limited degrees of input on both the throttle and the steering aspects of it, so oversteering is my kryptonite. I'm sticking to manually activating Overtake once I'm in 3rd gear because that short window is 2nd is crucial to me. That is the key for a successful or a disastrous race start, how I pace myself in-between hitting 2nd, get that torque right and shortshifting to 3rd. In the future, when the prices get back to reasonable and luckily I snatch a poor man's Logitech G29, I'll experiment with it more to see if I can rocket through the grid too under manageable risks.

2 pointsIt's been pretty much covered already, but it won't hurt to emphasize. Use qualy to assess the difficulty level, not the race. Mistakes happen in the race, cars need to divert from their racing line to defend or overtake. These are applicable to drivers and AI alike, from minor lockups to hitting the walls. And stars aligning to give you an unbelievable race happen. I'm quite the OCD guy, but I liked finishing races on 15th and on 3rd in the same season as long as they all felt deserved and qualy results were reasonable. We all have strong and weak circuits. Yes, the AI seems to not be equally balanced through the whole calendar, I can attest to that specially when trying to perform against what the game expects me to achieve on the practice programmes. But just as in real life, we all have different quirks and different driving styles that will turn us into freaks of nature in some tracks and a freight cart pulled by two snapping donkeys in others. Red Bull Ring, Spa and Interlagos I feel like the second coming of Christ, all clean apexes and finely tuned setups I wouldn't change a single click. In Singapore I'd wager I couldn't do a lap on foot without tripping. Again, as long as qualy times are reasonable, come in race day and I expect to be driver of the day cutting my way through the field like Vader did with Luke's merry friend. If you play on My Team, forget your teammate. As long as you plan for it, it's possible to end your first season with Vettel or Raghunathan as you teammate. Are you seriously expecting to tune the AI level to stay within the same gap in both of these cases? Don't do that. On My Team, you should be assessing your performance against the drivers in the teams closest to you in the performance table, both above and below. If you have two teams at practically the same performance level on the chart, use all their drivers as parameters, don't lock yourself against just one or two. After qualy is done, take note of your best time and the fastest time of the best positioned AI driver among those teams. And just to both endorse and attest to what I said on my second bullet point, let's say I have Alpha Tauri above me with virtually identical performance and Haas below. There are qualy sessions where Mag was had the best time of the bunch, sessions where I was in the lead and sessions where Kvyat or Gasly finished further forward in the grid. This is good, this is fabulous, this is God's Will. Please don't fret about it, as long as the gap is reasonable. I wouldn't touch the AI slider before cleaning up the slate above them all with a decisive 0.3+ gap in qualy. That's it, finished my rambling, get on with your life. If you want to though, I'll leave my tale of my season 1 last round on My Team in Interlagos, when for the first time ever I did a 50% race. I play on AI 100 and no assists except for ABS on a PS4 controller: I love this game, honestly.

2 pointsI prefer cockpit just for the immersion, although I did adjust the vertical height a bit. The virtual rear mirror has made it much easier too. I placed mine right on the halo so it blends in nicely. I can agree t-cam (and hood cam in other racing games) is sort of an assist as well. It’s usually the go-to for a reason.

2 pointsThe strategic element is still present and I would not call it dumbed down like some people do. Just different. Being more realistic is a plus, but even if ERS were a creation of the game with no real life parallel I'd still prefer this year approach considering I have brake bias, fuel mix and power diff to fiddle with already. I don't remember the numbers from the top of my head but I think ERS is now mapped in a way that you are harvesting a surplus of 5-15% per lap? A figure on that ballpark. How much extra power it provides you is gear and speed dependent, but overtake mode overrides that and give you the full 160BHP extra juice. So it is all about timing and smart usage to defend your position, set up an overtake several turns or even laps in advance or go for a fast lap. You could do all that last time and I was a strong adept of the micro ERS management, but cycling through 5 modes to get the most out of it was quite the load. Now I can optimize my driving by adjusting the diff on the fly for those circuits mixing high and low speed corners without getting a mental blue screen. In practice the game allows you to cycle through all modes in case you want to prepare for different scenarios and test different set ups accordingly.

2 pointsSo that’s a no then? The more people who submit bug reports, the quicker Codies will be able to fix the issues.
-
1 pointAin't that a matter of drivers updating on Logitech's part, Codies releasing a patch or something like that? Honest question. We don't have many good affordable wheels here so I was naturally gravitating towards G29. Would be bummed if this cannot be fixed.

1 pointI'd view the rear view mirror as a pretty serious assist that real F1 cars don't have 🙂.
-
1 pointSo it hasnt occured to you then that T-Cam is used because your sat higher up and therefore see the corner entry and exit earlier that say someone in cockpit view because as you rightfully point out, they can see sod all in cockpit mode....?

1 pointPersonal opinion, the game has so much promise, I would not give up on it. Given the Covid situation, CM have done wonders and the game will get better and better.

1 pointThat looks great. I just deplore that the game engine makes every car white or shiny when they are far away from the camera Spot. You only see the real colors, when the car is quiet near to camera. Sometimes there is the effect that a Black car is shining white and getting more and more dark when it comes nearer to camera. Does not look that good.

1 pointThey have implemented Raikkonen's AI for everyone during formation lap and SC.

1 pointIf you're experiencing wheelspin without actually oversteering I'd focus on easing off the throttle a bit. Just a fraction of a second makes a huge difference when the car is still settling straight. That and short shifting. One thing I don't regret doing is spending a couple minutes on the calibration tab of the controller settings to get a feel to what pressure would equal 20/50/80 percent throttle/brake pressure. The final stages of a braking strip, when you're transitioning from full-on braking to no brake and full-on steering input, and the first stage of an acceleration strip, when you're settling the car on the straight and smoothly applying throttle, are all about getting that minute input right in my opinion. There are a couple tenths of a second to be gain on a single corner there – which could be all you need to compensate for a worse straight-out speed setup. Think of Red Bull and Ferrari a few seasons ago.
-
1 pointdepends a lot on the mechanical balance you give the car. I tend to have equal wings and a bit more stiff rear mechanically. Some like to go very stiff rear mechanically, but then have to run either low front wing or high rear wing to balance it out.
-
1 pointno no, I did not say that. I say it is math, because of being a negative number, the more negative is of course on the left. we work Min on the left, Max on the right. It is a NEGATIVE number, -3.5 is less than -2.5 The numbers is what you have to look at, is pretty simple guys.
