    It's a little off-topic, but here's one 🙂

Having a blast with My Team, now Season 3. Got Mick Schumacher then ditched him for Calderon (I want a second driver, not a guy who will challenge my very average skills). Calderon also proved to be a handful so I fired her and hired Mahaveer Raghunathan. Very impressed with him, he almost took me out in Melbourne, trying to overtake me at Turn 4 with absolutely no space then spinning out, causing a massive slow-down behind me and allowing me to comfortably win the race (see pics below). DNF in Bahrain and he took out Hamilton in Canada. Absolute hero.

There is an 'ignore user' function on this forum for a reason. I personally find it more useful than the racing line assist.

One small change that would be useful is the ability to save colours that you create in the livery editor, this way making sure that all colours across the car, helmet, race suit etc are the exactly same if you want that, instead of having to match the sliders up perfectly. (unless that's already in the game and I'm just being stupid)

Heh, I guess it is ok to point fingers at potential cheaters and to name & shame them, but it is too much to say that someone is a quicker driver than you? I need to remap my engine to race on this forum. The gear ratios of some people here are all over the place.

I think the fact of the matter here is this... the weekly events are open to anyone of any skill level, using any controller input device and using whatever assists, or even cheats that they want. So to expect otherwise, or to expect everyone is going to do it the same way as you. I think you have a hope for the mode that you enjoy the most that just isn't a realistic expectation for it. I guess you could hope Codies will change they way the calculate the scoring based on assists used etc. etc. I'm not sure there's enough reason to. There's nothing on the line here except for bragging rights. If these things were occurring in Esports events, then it'll get attention. For a mode though with nothing on the line, it's a free for all... just like most online open lobbies are. Unfortunately, it is what it is & people want that 15 minutes of internet fame even if it means coming through a video game. Sadly, that's the world we live in.

Go ahead and laugh at me then, I'm a veteran of three named Combat campaigns, Combat wounded twice, and have come to learn that some things in life are taken for granted, like playing a video game. I have to use assists at times, and I would never dream of laughing at someone because they use a racing line, on a screen, while sitting in their living room.
  8. 3 points
Who's laughing at them? You? People will play the game how they want to play it, as the previous chap stated, he uses the lines to help hkw he needs to play, other peolle will have other issues. Yeah the multiple account thing is weird but criticisng the use of a line is just ignorance really.

In future titles you could add 75% race distance. I think it will be interesing. Maybe 2stop strategy will be more sensible. We have 25 % so why we don't have 75%? 😅.

Apparently it needs to be reported here instead of the suggestions subforum. 1. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. In the game I noticed Williams and AlphaTauri have the wrong colour dot on the mini map and colour stripe at the top left of the screen on the position standings during a grand prix weekend and classification after each session. On the real TV display AlphaTauri’s is white, in the game it is dark blue. And Williams’ is suppose to be dark blue, in the game it is light blue. 2. What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) 1.04 3. Game-mode? Every game mode 4. What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too. More than 10, because it happens at every game mode everytime. 5. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue Not possible, as it isn’t something we can fix ourselves. 6. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) Not really relevant for the issue, but a gamepad. 7. Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. Not at the moment, if another forum member has, please post it.

In terms of the update my question isn't really about when it is coming out, my question is purely interest regarding the livery updates that produces so many threads. Are you able to provide some kind of idea as to the procedure codemasters have to go through that has to occur for liveries to be amended? I'm just intrigued to know what goes on behind the scenes. Would also perhaps reduce some of the threads demanding livery updates within minutes of them being changed if people had an understanding of what is involved.

Yeah it was OK at first asking but now there's like loads either on f1 chat or suggestions which is basically blocking people who may have decent suggestions to add to the game

People, honestly can you just stop moaning about adding tracks to F1 2020. It will not happen there is no way, Codemasters made official statement that they will not add any new tracks to this years game. All these people are just flooding this forum with same thing again, NO there will be no new tracks this time. If tracks like Mugello or Imola will be part of championship next year, these tracks will be there because CM will have time to make tracks to game. It really is not work for two people that can be done in one week. I know it is hard but I please you moderators can you try doing something about those topics, because it is getting ridiculous, half of this forum is just people crying and demanding new tracks.

AI overtaking seems to be a lot rarer for me this year which I think is causing the above problem. Even with better tyres they struggle to get past each other when the defending car has 'overtake' ERS.

@marioho Yes, absolutely. It doesn't transform a bad driver into a good driver. I guess my point is that unlike most assists, it can be beneficial even for a quick/experienced driver, where as something like full TC will only make them slower and force them to adjust their driving style. ABS might be an exception in this game, at least looking at the leaderboards. Can't really say as I've not tried it. One could break down driving skill into narrower skill sets - such as "driving technique" and "mental processes". It's the latter that the RL assists on. To clarify, I don't really mind people using RL. I just wish they would have the patience to practice without it, and take the momentary hit in performance, simply because it is so much fun to drive without it! However, I would appreciate it being listed as an assist in TT and events.

It is disingenuous to bundle all assists as if they were the same. Some impact your driving, some only help with awareness, some are just visual aids or suggestions. It's ludicrous to treat them all the same when ABS and TC can allow you to practically flat out everything, from race starts to corners, while racing line will do absolutely nothing to your actual driving. The suggested racing line is not even that good. No "hardcore gamer" or pro player will get on the top whatever% of the leaderboards by following the racing line as it does not make use of all the width of the track and the braking points are conservative. He's driving faster than you. It is like this "whether you agree or don't": he's quicker than you doing all the driving by himself, so he's a better driver than you. "Us hardcore gamers" do not like T-Cam users, as we all saw on that other thread yesterday. You sure you're on the same hardcore gamer motorclub? Prove us wrong. Turn on the racing line assist, make a faster lap and report how you could only achieve that because of the aid buff it provided you. You won't beat him just by doing that. Hence #2. That's gatekeeping. Edit: I'll paraphrase a great hardcore gamer. LOL, people love to hate on Racing Line. Turn off all Assists and race on Racing Line. You'll find out real quick that the Assists are the actual Assists, and the Racing Line won't help you from locking up or spinning out. It simply provides a better view of the track. [...] It doesn't make you fast if you suck. How can you say that to defend the "freedom of choice" to go with T-Cam and negate the same reasoning for the racing line?

I don't get it. He did a better time than you? With racing line on, that does not affect your driving at all and is but a suggestion of a route and/or braking points? How could he be laughing stock if he's being quicker than most? He's still doing all the race by himself. And if he did follow 100% the racing line, I'd wager you'd see way more people with better times than him since the assist is notorious for not using the full extent of the track. Don't know, mate. There is a valley between ABS and racing line. For all I care, racing line and the virtual rear view mirror are way closer to each other than the former and any other assist on the menu. It would be laughable if he were the one starting up a whole thread to complain that he's not the quickest when he's following the suggested line to a tee while others running all "nilly willy" were scoring higher than him. Yeah, that's gatekeeping in its wildest form. "The true best players would laugh at you". This makes no freaking sense. If he's not that good, than lap him! What's holding you? It's the same discussion about cockpit view and T-Cam all over again, but with roles inverted. "Yeah, he's quick, but not legitimately quick because he plays on TV Pod". Edit: Regarding the multiple accounts thing, yeah, if that's indeed the case the entries should be merged. They're still his times and his skill, but should definitely be consolidated in order to not bump other players from the leaderboards. Not that everyone appreciates the "don't bump other legitimate content to the back pages with daily iterated rants", but yeah. Should be fixed.

Currently working my way through a 100% length F2 season as the intro to career. Have had a brief look at MyTeam but wanted to unlock some of the better liveries and was contemplating perhaps doing multiple seasons of 50% races as I wouldn’t have the time to run 100% distance, will stick to 100% races for the main career though but keep MyTeam as a fantasy alternative mode.

@PJTierney you can't mention Photo Mode and simply don't share your work. That is unbecoming for someone of your stature.

Nothing wrong with using the racing line. Not everybody has 100s of hours spare to learn the perfect braking point etc for every circuit. Let people play how they want.

You see, this is the bit that grinds my gears. The elitist attitude of some users. The same issue yesterday with people trying to outdo each other on how ascetic their approach to the 'game' is. I was expecting someone to claim they drove blindfold or without switching the monitor on. And now this.

Never know who's on the other side of the screen. Him using an assist and being decent isn't an issue. Cheating yes, but who cares how someone else enjoys their game.

I use racing lines in corners, lost some vision in my eye and have nerve damage to my hands. Not seeing the issue.
