Firstly - and most importantly - I want to make it plain that I do not condone violence (outside of a boxing ring or MMA cage that is) of any sort but - please CM - just add a little bit..........so the next time Jeff says, with that condescending attitude "We've had to spend time repairing damage to the car" that carries just the slightest of emphasis on 'time' and just the slightest hint of distain and disgust, I can climb out and punch his ******* lights out.

They can't fix real car performance, Merc/RB/Ferrari and other teams don't allow them to mess around their real cars. Now as for performance in the game, as mentioned in 9999.. (I don't know how many) other threads, it will be done in near future. They (CM) just need more races which gives them more data, that is used to create performance for each team.

It seems like you are a little bit faster without ABS but this is just getting used to it and having the good brake setup for your driving style. This should be helpful. In fact, braking distances are shorter with ABS off and this can make a difference if you know how to manage it.

Got a lunch/meeting with my boss tomorrow to go over the options for me and work. I really want to stay at the university as there's no chance I'd be functional as a consultant paleontologist, but the time has come to face the truth, that I am not cut out to do full time academic teaching either. Ideally I'd like to be part time, teaching one topic per semester, supervising a few postgrads and doing the odd field school or week long intensive course and I'd also like to to have one or two days off during the week so I can de-stress between classes. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the well wishes... Phew its nothing, MRI was all clear and they ruled out a concussion or anything else. I was handed off to the psych team after that and they concluded based on my past history and ongoing issues that my bouts of migraines are caused by periods of 'severe stress and anxiety' which seems reasonable as it wouldn't be the first time I've had migraine issues just after a stressful time at work. I've been ordered to take 2 weeks leave minimum and I think I may need to reconsider my career as its obvious I can't cope with teaching. I seemed ok when I was only doing 1 topic a semester and the odd bit of field work stuff, its not like I need to earn a living (thanks mum and dad!) so I think I should look after myself better and acknowledge that my autism and anxiety probably will prevent me from ever working a normal job. Time to go and talk to my boss and see what we can work out.

I race in F1 2020 and i am fully focused on the racetrack while racing. When I want to look at vegetation, I play golf. What I want to say is that gameplay is much more important than graphics. Great graphics are useless if the gameplay is worthless.

Fairly new to the Codemasters F1 game but been playing Grand Prix 2/3/4 for 20+ years. A couple of things that F1 2020 is missing that would make the game awesome - hopefully they can be added during an update. 1. Mechanical failures for players. With the option to turn it on/off. Yes it’s frustrating but its extra realism. 2. Manually driving in the pitlane. I dont need the computer to take over. 3. Remove the grey screen when you crash. Allow the player to drive back to the pitlane to retire or pull off the circuit. GP4 had a great feature where you could watch the reminder of the race using a tv director if you crashed out or retired. 4. A free practice mode so that you can lean tracks or practice setups. Great game otherwise.

In a way, setups don't make the car go fast. They make the car behave as you want it to. So how fast the car will go depends on how good you are at both driving it at the edge of your ability and diagnosing the aspects in which the car is trying to break out of your control. What you always need to have in mind when talking about handling and car behavior: Cornering ability: How well the car sticks to the intended racing line throughout a turn; Grip: How well the rubber hugs the tarmac. Grip is responsible for transferring any forces between the car and the track. Acceleration, braking, and steering – they all depend on having sufficient grip. If you lose grip, you lose traction and the wheels spin or slip. If you try to steer while braking for instance, you'll end up doing both tasks poorly, as the grip available is being split between the two; Traction: How capable the wheels are of translating the engine's power to forwards motion. Your focus point must be on cornering as that's when a car is most likely to misstep. Cornering comprehends: Corner entry: When you do the bulk of your braking, let it go completely (or applies trail braking) and steer into the corner; Mid corner: The sustained turning until you hit the apex of the corner; Corner exit: After hitting the apex and you resume throttle application. Depending on how your car behaves in each of these three scenarios, there are different fixes you can attempt regarding both your driving and your setup. The main issues are understeering, when the car refuses to turn in as much as you intend it to, going wide and risking leaving the outside edge of the track; and oversteering, when the car simply rotates too much and your rear end takes you for a spin. There's a infamous quote by Walter Rohrl that goes something like this: So select whatever setup you want and go for a lap or two. Than you combine the issue you're having with the scenario in which it is most prominent. Understeer on corner entry? We've got fixes for that. Oversteer on corner exit? We've got for that too, but they're much much different. Regardless of how much you want to dive into the setup aspect of the game, these are basic concepts and you'll be forever paddling in shallow waters if you can't identify them and relate them when seeking help. And when you do, you can bet you'll hear a lot about grip and traction. If you don't want to learn anything about setups, I'd suggest sticking with Default Preset 4 for the majority of the tracks. Maybe use these images below as a reference: Personally, I'd go with Preset 4 on every track except those graded with: Downforce 1: Preset for Maximum Top Speed; Downforce 4: Preset for Increased Downforce; Downforce 5: Preset for Maximum Downforce. It is perfectly fine to not want to go deep into setups. For many, setting up your car is nothing but a chore and that's alright. You can also use third party setups, the ones from the likes of TRL or Jaaames. Worst case scenario, you spend a couple minutes gathering these setups and a couple laps on Free Practice 1 trying them until you're satisfied. If you want to get the basics about car setups, then I suggest: The tips on the Car Setup screen. They have this incredible characteristic of being simultaneously too basic and too good. At first you'll read them and go "BS, that means nothing". Until you do a little digging yourself, learn a concept or too, take a second glance at the tip and realize what you learned was written there all along. Chris Haye's setup guides is one of the best lying around. Jaaames' setup guide. I watched it long ago and remember it being good. It was made with F1 2019 in mind though, so disregard any particular value and stick to the core concepts. The upside is he demonstrates how each setting translates to handling with gameplay clips. TRL Limitless setup guide. Didn't watch it fully yet but TRL is a nice chap. Edit: This @Ultra3142 guy just freaking eating me whole on these threads! A man can no longer type in peace! To complement what he said, I strongly suggest a quality forum like F1carsetup. Pay attention on setups posted by reputable members, choose one or try to see what they have in common to take an educated guess at what should work when tweaking it. Realsport 101 has a bunch of setups too and go over their reasons when making them. I don't often like the end result but it's a solid starting point. There's also Sim Racing Setups (on Youtube too) and they are a mix of database and curated setups. The curated ones are good and they come with a reasonable explanation just like Realsport 101.

Hello, there is a bug I would like to report. 1. After I downloaded the newest update of F1 2020 the facilities that I had upgraded where reseted back to 0. I can’t buy them again because the game is showing that I’ve allready bought it but the delivery dates are allready passed. 2. PS4 3. Version1.06 4. Team carreer 5. I’ve restarted the PS4, exited the game. I’m affraid I have to reset my full carreer but I’ve allready put a lot of time in it so I don’t hope so. 6. Regular controler 8. I don’t got any screenshots of pictures but I’ve seen more people with this problem. I think it’s a major bug and hope it will get fixed soon. thank for your attention.

I have both 2020 & 2018 On F1 2020 nothing helps in terms of rebooting, unplugging, I have even re-installed. On F1 2018 it all works fine. This is poor programming and testing and I am amazed a fix has not come out already. Unplayable at the moment!!

I think it was attached to the driver-team contract on F1 2019? It was one of the perks you could negotiate with your team. I'm not that far in the F1 2020 career mode so I don't know if it's still present, but I guess it was removed. As it is looks like we don't have any input or say on the overall pitstop duration margins. Would be nice to have it implemented in the Facilities system. Maybe a crew department that you could invest in to have shorter repair and pit stop times? Haha they could start with an open face helmet and as you spec up the facility they could get slick livery and equipment upgrades to end up looking like those mad mechanics: Edit: and there should be a Pit Crew spec 3.5 where you could hire this absolute unit of a Huge Jackman: And to have the option to dress your crew specially for your home GP like this:

To be honest, I would rather have slow driver market than Hamilton singning with Haas or something like that

Thanks @TasmanianTiger. You're having the exact same issue as me. I've recorded it too, but I really can't see it in the capture, but while driving it's real bad. @BarryBL what does it take to get an acknowledgement to this?

There is the Thrustmaster TMX, which will be cheaper now than the logitech offerings once the G923 releases. There is also the TX wheel, which while had issues at first released in 2013/2014, will also now be cheaper than the logitech G923 when it releases (base TX wheel is £289 atm in the UK); and the quality issues have been ironed out for the TX wheel. Then there is the TS-XW Racer, which is more akin to Fanatec prices. Then there is Fanatec. So Thrustmaster will technically have the lower prices after the G923 releases. Ive never used a TMX wheel, but the TX wheel is much better in terms of FFB feel and motor torque. I have owned a TX in the past, I also have a G27 and a G920. The TX is just a much better feeling wheel. Especially if you ditch the F458 wheel rim the base versions comes with. Also, from what I can tell from reviews of the new G923, it is exactly the same wheel and pedals; but with a "speaker" of sorts added to provide tactile vibration feedback. Sort of like a buttkicker would under your seat, but for your hands instead.

Wrong quote, mate. I'm not on the "Codemasters you need to nerf Ferrari by 3.817% on mid speed right handers for realism" bandwagon and nothing on my post suggested that. I was addressed the preposterous claim that the lack of a performance patch means we're playing F1 2019 with a facelift. No way. The games handle completely differently. That "extra downshift followed by instantaneous upshift for extra rotation on tight corners" bonanza is gone. Micromanagement the fun out of the game with the ERS is gone. We even have a goddamn rear view mirror! Anyway, I'm looking forward for any and all updates Codemasters put out, including the performance one, but I'm enjoying it 100% already even having Vettel starting on pole from time to time.

How can this not be legit? Look at the specific detail they go into... Read what is new in F1 2020 Update 1.07 Changelog? Added various visual improvements. Added gameplay optimizations. Addressed audio-related issues. Added performance and stability improvements. Other minor fixes. 🤣

Good for Paul. Glad he is back in the drivers seat of a new racing game. Besides with Codies buying up other racing studios, its good to see some [worthy] competition. I have nothing against Codies, but competition pushes everyone for quality.

Yeah it's possible for leagues to decide to if they allow ABS or not. But the problem is that some people really need it in smaller leagues and some people just use it to gain advantage. Let's say there is some small league with 1 or 2 divisions. Obviously they want to allow ABS as they don't want to lose drivers. However these few guys get some extra pace from this assist, which leads to the point where everyone is using it in the end. That's why assists can't be better than assists off. With ranked lobbies I guess all assists are allowed. I don't really play these so I don't know for sure. On the last game in those Esport qualification events they reduced total score by x% based on assists used, it was pretty decent way. However this year it probably needs bigger % cut if ABS is used. I think they used similar system in weekly events also, hopefully they still do that on this game. TT filter would be good thing, also they should start mentioning there if line is used (even that telemetry line from the ghost time). Also wheel/pad filter/mention would be good add. Anyway all improvements are welcome to TT, it has been pretty much same for a long time. Filters and equal cars (to gp mode as well) would be a great thing to have.

I'll add it here. At the moment, I have a Alfa Romeo Mito Quadrifoglio Verde, which is nice. But about a year ago, I very reluctantly sold my 09 Mazda RX8 R3, which I regret since taking this job as I don't drive to work now (Image for those who don't recognise it- not my exact one but the same). Stupid MPG (was lucky to get 18), unpredictable in the winter, tax was horrible, but sounded like a rocket ship and was a dream to drive. Miss her every day 😛
