2 pointsIntroduction Not content with their football team being the talk of the country after their hugely unexpected promotion into the Championship, reaching the second tier of English football for the first time in their history, the town of Wycombe are now represented on the biggest motorsport stage of all - the Formula One grid. Wycombe Racing will adorn the same famous light and dark blue colours of their footballing partners, and while they're obviously going to be regarded as huge underdogs in the beginning, that particular tag has always sat well with the management of the Chairboys and it's no different now. The budget is inevitably small, with sponsors Distort pumping £4.7m into the team to set them on their way. The aim is to finish 8th in the Constructors' Championship, which would certainly represent progress in their first season in F1 and given the struggles of Williams, Alfa Romeo and Haas, is also pretty realistic on the surface. Most of the budget has been spent on a deal with Mercedes to become their engine supplier, giving Wycombe Racing one of the best engines on the grid from the get-go. However, early sim data suggests that serious improvements will need to be made in the aerodynamics and chassis departments, and a 7-day team building activity for the two departments ahead of the car reveal should improve morale and productivity. Mercedes themselves are obviously the team to beat, with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing the second best car on the grid and Racing Point not far behind. As for the second driver, well - the underdog story wouldn't quite be the same without hiring the mother of all underdogs, would it? The much-maligned Mahaveer Raghunathan takes the seat, and was promptly sent on a 5-day training camp in the week leading up to the Australian Grand Prix. It has the desired effect - Raghunathan's ability improves from 45 to 48 in the week, but the paddock is not expecting much from the man ridiculed during a slow error-strewn 2019 season at MP Motorsport in Formula Two. The trip to Melbourne is just around the corner, and with no acclaim in the paddock to speak of whatsoever, the world awaits the debut of Wycombe's inaugural F1 team. Author's Note: The AI are set to 94, which is roughly my level using a controller (I raced with AI around 90-92 on F1 2019). I race full sessions with simulation damage, no flashbacks and I will never restart - whatever happens happens and it's up to me not to nick my front wing on a slow Ferrari. Hopefully we'll have some fun - wish me luck!

2 pointsI have the current issue of, my sponsor wants me to put a certain number of laps in. I don't know how many I have done or how many they want.

2 pointsThe engines might have different characteristics, I'm happy if they do. However, I don't really see how the weight of the engine would make such a difference. The cars have a minimum weight and no-one goes above it unless something is very wrong with the design or manufacturing of the car. If the engine is heavier, they'll just reduce the weight from somewhere else. Sure, it leaves a bit less options in terms of weight distribution but I have a hard time believing Codies would have gone that far when even the aero/drag simulation is very simplified. This you can see with how different wing angles affect DRS - it reduces your overall drag and not just that of the rear wing.

1 pointLadies and gents, Last week we've past the 2000th bug report topic for this 4 months old game! This went by totally unnoticed, but as this has to be some kind of new record, I think some kinds of celebrations are in order. Of course, some of them got combined over time, so we might have crossed that milestone some time ago. We're now at 2157 topics and counting! so it's still going really well. Big shoutout to the guys having to read and respond to all of those, your job can't be easy at an average of 19 bug report topics a day. (For the record, I only counted the "Gameplay issues and bugs TA" topics, and not the "Systems and connectivity TA" topics, which would add another 300 topics to the mix) Everyone must feel really proud of reaching such a milestone. And this game keeps on exceeding expectations. Only last week we got the long-awaited return of the VSC glitch (https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/63166-bug-pc-vsc-bug-is-back/?tab=comments#comment-575541) and more and more new ones are getting introduced with every new patch. Big thanks to all those people finding time to file those bug reports. As you can see it's really helping. My suggestion for a celebration event is the release of a "2000 bug reports" themed helmet, gloves, and underpants DLC. But if you have any better ideas feel free to shout! I'm proud of you guys.

1 pointI'm the guy with gtx1060. Thank you for the help but I don't think the problem is this... The configuration is the same with I've played since the game's buying and the fps never gone under 55 e temperatures was ever good... For that I think the configuration was not near the limit. Obv to say that I've tried to delete the settingsconfig before every start and start with every possibile resolution (768p of safemode too) Tomorrow I'll attach the dxdiag, another time thank you so much for the help

1 pointAside from the Dirt franchise never being a sim, I honestly can't figure out why people on the forums are so freaking hell bent on making literally everything a sim and destroying any amount of fun to be had in arcade racers. I will never buy a sim racing game again because they're all basically identical in that they all drive roughly the same, they're all exceptionally boring after a few minutes, the AI is generally terrible or non-existent, they all have the same car and track list, and they all have fucky physics. Every one of them. When I can go back and play a relatively obscure PS2 sim game and have it play and feel damn near equivalent to anything modern... It's so unbelievably stagnant. And then every time there's a fun racer announced that isn't a boring sim title the comments are full of man children shitting all over it. It boggles the mind. And then to add on top all that, you've got the iRacing league being broadcasted on air with pro drivers saying it sucks and it's completely unrealistic and just intentionally slamming into each other because it's just a game. I'd honestly rather watch them play a new Burnout. At least then they might have some fun.

1 pointOn 1.16 the bug that causes wipers to suddenly stop working under rain on an undamaged car is still present, even if very rare. It'll happen only without auto wipers assist enabled, and if wipers stop in the middle of a stage due to this bug, after manually turning them on, they'll completely stop again later without warning after an interval like 15-20s. The only solution is to, right at the moment they stop, pause the game and enable the auto wipers assist. Then they'll work flawlessly (be always on) until the end of the stage. In case you disable the assist before the stage is finished, they'll start going full stop again. This is unrelated to a car electric failure where they can intermittently fail a swipe (expected behavior). For this bug, they'll keep turning off completely on an undamaged car, leaving you blind until you do something about it, and without any input faults on the mapped button for wipers. Today it started happening on the "Old Butterstone Muir" bridge section under Heavy Rain, while doing the Racedepartment club weekly event. It's disappointing that nothing was done to fix this bug after mine and other users repeated reports, and probably leave this infuriating bug for users running without assists when DR2 reaches EOL. Thanks for your attention

1 pointI desagree.. for example I am actually in my 4th season and in this current season i had changed the Engine Supplier.. I was to Honda from Mercedes.. and I noticed that Honda you have much more general mechanical grip and you are able to Push the car to its limits.. yeah the regulation changes rules make a huge impact on the stats and performances aswell but I am much more faster and consistent with Honda that I was in 3 seasons with Mercedes Engines.. that means each Engine have their specific characteristics and you have to tweak always your car setups to get the max potential of them

1 pointI might not be the first to suggest this, but I think F1 2021 should return to the rivals system we had in the earlier games, where we could choose our rival from the entire grid. The current system is rubbish. My MyTeam car is one of the worst on the grid, barely fighting for points, yet Claire comes along and suggests three or four high difficulty rivals I have no chance of beating, which is gonna damage my acclaim. I'm not going to magically trounce them, I need more manageable rivals who can still match me, but not be impossible to beat. I've even heard stories of people starting MyTeam for the first time, and immediately being offered the four hardest to beat drivers on the field, with the only other choice being 'No Comment'.

1 pointTo be honest, codemasters wouldnt really have had a hand in pcars 3. Given how game development usually works, it would have been in deep development long before codemasters bought out slightly mad studios.

1 pointUpdate: I've removed Armoury Crate and ASMedia USB drivers. Ran the game with my Tobii 4C eyetracker disabled simply because I forgot about it. Accidentally removed my My Team campaign, so I had to start over... And I've been able to run the entire Melbourne and Bahrain races with only one incident during Melbourne qualifying. So it's still unstable, but apparently much less so. Vietnam ran fine too.

1 pointNever-mind, after 90 days of glitch free fun...I experienced nearly every glitch under the sun during an organised multiplayer race last night with a nearly full grid. People being classified in positions they were never in, random and repeated yellow flags for no reason. Disconnects, gap readings stuck or completely incorrect...one qualy was stuck on 0.01 before we all just re-started. FOM should be ashamed that they have their e-sports flagship represented on this ****-show.

1 pointI think they need to release the game again as "F1 2020 - COVID19 Edition" with the real 2020 calendar.

1 pointThank you both! @ioann977 that's exactly what what I was curious about, thanks for the explanation!

1 pointIn balanced allocation, when you start qualies you have 4 soft and 1 medium compound available for entire qual procedure. If you progress to qual 3 (having used the 2 softs in qual 1 & qual 2), choose the 4th in order of appearance soft compound and not the 3d. (The fourth Is the extra of Pirelli’s and is not available for the race). if you use the 4th soft in qual 3, you will have available for the race the 3d soft as NEW. ( You will begin the race on the used soft of qual 2, having available as new 1 soft, 2 mediums, 1 hard) In any case if you want to have available 1 NEW soft for the race strategy, you must not used 1 of the first 3 (in order of appearance) softs in qualies. in qual 3 you must use the 4th soft (in order of appearance). hope I help. ps . Excuse my bad English

1 pointThey have an ideal opportunity to break the mould here. Cars frozen for 2021 and tracks missing from 2020 due to Covid, DLC? Nope. Really they could do a F1 2020 to F1 2021 update and add the tracks from this year. People will do it, the game will have longevity and they have no excuse for not fixing the bugs.

1 pointAll very good suggestions & I’d love to see it happen. That said, I’ve got a theory as to why the replay system in this franchise is as barebones today as it was in 2010 - flashbacks (whether they’re used or not). Have asked the question of the devs in the F1 chat section a few weeks back but didn’t get a single reply.... Make of that what you will, but in my mind the silence from “officialdom” on the matter when other more trivial things (like the coloured stripe on the merc’s halo) gets sent up the chain almost immediately suggests I may well be onto something because I sure as hell would be uncomfortable opening up a discussion about what I can’t or won’t be able to implement. In any case, 🤞🏽 an overhaul of the replay system is on somebody’s to-do list because let’s face it, the current one is pox & has been for the best part of the last decade 🤦🏽♂️

1 pointStill in investigation, and are currently working on replication. There are a lot of moving parts in Online issues as everyone's setup and specifications are different (Connectivity settings for example). However, we are working towards a more stable experience for our players.
-
1 pointIt's pretty wild to think a car like this is allowed to just hop on the road and head to the supermarket: I wonder if anyone has bought an ex-WRC car just to have as a daily driver?
-
1 pointHow to have replay cameras only on tv cameras? When choosing for cinematic camera the game give us some worst angles such as in bumper or wheels. When we get in a in session lobby, in the standing background we can see some nice angles, but they are no available in replay mode.

1 pointI think it's a requirement to run two different tyre compounds, to reflect the same requirement in real F1. You don't have to in 3 and 5 lap races but I think you do for 25% and up.

1 pointWe're more than a month in now, most leagues have given you a lot of time to get the game in a streamable state before all hell breaks loose on track again, but I think it's safe to conclude that as it stands, what we got is a huge step back from what we had in f1 2019, as far as that is possible. In 8 days the league I organize myself kicks off as well, and I'm praying we get a very substantial patch before then. Not only are there countless glitches on the driving side, which have been discussed in a lot of topics already, but from a commentators/information perspective things are really, really bad: - Delta's are all over the place, glitch around near the sector points, are totally unreliable. - Above leads to 1 commentator seeing a person get drs and the other one doesn't. And it isn't a far stretch to think that you get messed up like that equally while driving. - Lap 2 for spectators always sees the DRS enabled prompt, as well as the entire standings and delta's being scrambled. How did this get passed testing? - Information on tires is SUPER unreliable. laps don't update, wrong compounds are displayed, and people end with 48 laps on their tires after pitting on lap 9 in a 22 lap race. (they did 13 laps. we just get lied to) - The host has a huge advantage at the start. This can be omitted by having one of the streamers be the host but can cause problems for some leagues. - Race director tire info is wrong too, making it useless to see after the fact what exactly happened. - You have allowed us to use hotkeys to switch between drivers (thank you!) but the first press of shift opens the steam overlay which is unfortunate hotkey choice. (And now we can't turn of said overlay cause we can't invite people to lobbies anymore) - Sometimes using said hotkeys for drivers in p10+ (E.G: p12) will after releasing the keys switch back to the non-shift-number instead (E.G. p2) and multiple tries might be required. - There can still be a very sizable delay in the start lights going off and everybody actually getting away, even when the streamer is the host. - THERE ARE STILL NO PENALTIES VISIBLE FOR SPECTATORS AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET TO IT. THEY DECIDE ALMOST EVERY RACE. These are just spectator/commentator things. Some are just annoyances (having to try a bit too hard to use the hotkeys) Some are absolutely unacceptable (this lap 2 standings, drs enabled, and delta chaos.. as well as the tire info being so wrong) and are just a show of real incompetence and misplaced priorities. I can remember vividly how @BarryBL said how Multiplayer was a big priority this time around and they would try to make it something worth wearing the proud F1 brand, But so far improvements are few and far between and other issues got worsened or even introduced. Here's to me hoping you are working very, very hard on these issues. Multiplayer is a joke as it stands and you must be aware this can't go on like this. If you weren't, at least by this writing I hope to make you aware. The driving is a lot of fun in F1 2020. A huge step forward. But the game is let down TREMENDOUSLY by lack of polish and refinement. F1 2020 just has all the markings of a rushed game, that didn't get properly tested, The beta wasn't even completed by the time the game released, and it didn't have a lot of the issues that we are experiencing now. And don't ever come with the excuse how hard it is to make a game every year because that is YOUR choice. either hire more (competent) people or just have the core game FIXED and release dlc's every year. The way it's going now we get an unsatisfying mess of a game year in year out. Every one buggier than the last. F1 2020 has already crashed more times than ALL the other games I've ever played on my pc combined, bar f1 2019. Yet you keep adding new stuff (that barely works on its own) all while streamers can't commentate a race without apologizing for the nonsense they and the viewers see on-screen half (if not more) of the time. So as ever, I hope we can get an update on how it stands with regard to these issues. Are they getting fixed? Will we be seeing a patch in the next 8 days? are we gonna have to start thinking of ways to work around these issues where possible? Many thanks already for the response.

0 pointsThis Bug of the blue flags, helped me to win another race. Once again Hamilton 20 seconds in front of me with 18 laps to go in Zandvoort which is a fast track and it was still raining, I reached him on the last lap he was stuck behind 3 cars I didn't even want to overtake him anymore and I won the race . This bug has to be fixed soon. Steam PC game version 1.12
