HEY CODEMASTERS and HEY @BarryBL Do you have in plan to update Drivers Performance in F2 2020 ? You know i am asking this, because now it is very unrealistic in your game. Artem Markelov is the best A.I. in your game, in real life he was almost the weakest this year (He finished 18th in Championship). Mick Schumacher the World Champion of F2 2020 is almost the weakest A.I. in your game (He is on average 15th in your game). I dont know how other people think, but for me its a game killer if Drivers Performance are Unrealistic. I dont know how hard it is to make it realistic (I mean programming or other things ...) , but i hope you will update this problem with F2 2020. In your game F1 2019 it was amazing with F2 2018 and F2 2019, it was like in Real Life Drivers Performance, but this year it is very bad.

Yep.. It makes sense they're not available for season one but they should definitely be available from season two onwards. Pretty disappointing that we cant see Tsunoda in either career but theres a chance of Calderon and "hilarious" meme driver. On top of that, they desperately need to fix the F2 drivers stats. Not just for the F2 results but so that they can actually compete with the F1 drivers when they get promoted. Schumacher, Zhou, Illot and I hate to say it.. Mazepin need pretty big stat increases.

Virtually every race in MyTeam the AI go for more stops regardless of any situation. Singapore for one is an easy one stop and track position is king, it's practically Monaco and half the field did 3 stops. Russia the easiest one stop on the calendar and no AI went for the one stop, a few even did 3 stops and lost their top 10 position as a result. Japan when coming towards the end of the first stint, rain was incoming. The AI made stops for fresh softs then had to go to inters 3 laps later, they should extend. USA, again a doable one stop but two does make sense. Not one AI car did a one stop, several did three including my 2nd driver who has three of the tyre wear upgrades on the chassis. I'm the team boss, why do we get no say in our driver's strategies? On two occasions my 2nd driver has been fighting for minor points and finished outside the points by making an entirely pointless third stop. Also the AI always pit on schedule, they never account for where they are coming out of the pits. They also don't react to being stuck in a train of cars despite the fact that Jeff will pick up on it if you're in one and suggests changing strategy. Cars outside the top 10 shouldn't almost always start on the softs In MyTeam you should set second driver strategy before the race starts It would be nice if the AI didn't rigorously stick to the set strategy *Also in MyTeam it is annoying that the second driver can take 10 place engine penalties several times instead of getting a new engine in one go and starting the the back once.

I'm definitely agree with you Sabolc we need to fix F2 DRIVERS performance becuase markelov was vey bad this year and in the game it's almost always first or second even schumacher ilott tsunoda and other top f2 drivers was always in the midfield or in the last places f2 2018 and f2 2019 drivers performances on f1 2019 game was excellent but in this f1 2020 are completely wrong this game in my opinion it's the best of codemasters for current gen i waited for 5 months f2 2020 season because it's the best season of f2 and i wanna play a lot of championship with differenr real drivers... please we only ask you to fix f2 drivers performances codemasters do a great job this year especially with performance patch for ferrari and racing point that put finally this cars in the right places on the grid can you do the same with f2 2019-2020 drivers? sorry for my english guys i'm italian

Yes @TeenierNeilb69 Its the joker round this week, so Abu Dhabi, F2 2020. Scoring for all players, scaled from 20 to 1 (1 extra for fastest lap). We're doing 3 joker rounds this year to give the championship a taste of some different areas of the game. I have a classic challenge planned for the next Joker after today.

Posting your settings and a dxdiag would be helpful.

And of course no communication from the people at codies, nothing. If they would actually talk to us about what is happening then this discussion would end. i just don’t understand why they can’t say if the new f2 drivers are coming to my team or not in the future its the same time and time again they just never communicate to us

Work is done for the year, just got home from my end of year dinner with my colleagues. We all got a bit silly had a charity quiz with the meal, all sorts of shouting and laughing...had a great time even wifey enjoyed herself, she had no good excuse not to come and I think she was expecting a very dry group of academics...little does she know that all Paleontologists are a bit mental lol! I'm still 100% non drinking too, just cola for me.

I couldn't agree more. I thought if you turn driver transfers off, also retirements would be disabled but not even in this way it will work. I wanted Kimi in myteam career, he retired at the end of season 1. I started a driver career in Alfa Romeo with transfers off, thinking this way he would stay there. No! During the first season I already got email about his retirement at the end of the year. Really frustrating. I don't think comparison with FIFA is appropriate, In FIFA players already start do decrease before they are 30 y.o. If they don't retire, by the time they get 45 they are the worst players in the game. Hopefully we will not see old drivers getting worse also here. If I want to fight with Kimi for the championship, by the time we develop the car he will be the slowest driver in the grid, so it would be the same as if he retired. Solution could be that if you set retirements to off there won't be any growth as well, at least for F1 drivers. This way you won't have max stats for every driver after few seasons. So, easiest way is the option Driver retirements: ON / OFF.

Sorry if I'm double posting suggestions already made or rejected/not possible! I just wanna throw out my own ideas and ideas I have already seen, plausible or not, with my own take on them. Save Importing - For those who have prior F1 games, it might be a good idea to allow people to convert their first season progression and stats on one game to the following chronological game. I.e. If you played F1 2019, and completed the first season of Career Mode, you have the option to import that save onto your F1 2020 career mode (giving you an extra season and even more immersive progression by maintaining stats and results). You can have an option to keep legally licensed drivers from that first season or have the proper 2020 line-up. Various other checks can be made to ensure you are in the right team/team you want to be in during the importation process. I think this option should be limited to just the first season of any Career Mode on any F1 game. Allow customisable driver moves within and at the end of the season, plus longer lasting/real life contracts - Self explanatory and suggested by quite a few people already. Would just help maintain immersion and prevent the more wacky driver moves in between and during the seasons. Contracts should also mimic real life. Verstappen has a deal until 2023 for example. One way to force moves is 'performance clauses' which would trigger and allow the AI driver to move to a different team. i.e. If Red Bull in 2022 perform poorly, AI Verstappen can trigger the 'clause' and allow him to move to a new team. License an older season for a 'Classic Career mode' - This is the least plausible but, perhaps, this could be like as a remaster of F1 2010 with all the new but appropriate-for-the-time mechanics? With three 2010 cars licensed, and the original F1 2010 game still available on Steam, it hints that it could be possible and the most likely option? F1 2021 as an expansion to F1 2020, renaming the game F1 2020/21 - I have no idea about the licensing agreement but it would give the boys and girls in the offices (or at home, most likely) some breathing room for 2022. Just an idea given that there is a carry over of cars for next season. Might allow implementation of user suggestions more easier. F1 2012 style weather system - Still the best weather system out of all the games, be it the actual weather and how the track dries out with the racing line and the like. Adjusting the AI to make bolder or safer choices for tyre changing based on the Experience rating would be a bonus, but we REALLY need that superb weather system back please! Enable tyre blistering and flat-spots - I think this will be a thing for 2021 anyway given it was worked on in the game files this time around. Would be awesome! Player mechanical failures, basing the 'random chance' by pre-existing wear on the power unit elements and gearbox - Lots of requests for this but it does not have to be completely random. There is a wear rating on the power unit components for a reason, and would be the best place to go to to determine how 'random' player mechanical failures would work. The more wear a power unit component has, the more likely a failure would happen before it reaches the critical 75%-100% range. Also means the risk of other parts being damaged or even destroyed if the failure is severe. Obviously this needs to be optional so people don't feel hard done by and so purists can have that extra immersive experience. Floor, Suspension, Rear Wing damage - Self explanatory, though I understand if licensing is a restriction. Red flag - Another year, another request for Red flags. They are being used more and more often, think it is time for a reintroduction at some point. Pre-season testing, cool down laps, completely manual formation lap and pit stopping - More immersion options. Pre-season testing can help or hinder a team based on performance and a little RNG. Manually reaching your grid box and pit box would add an extra, optional challenge to the game. Licensed custom liveries of each F1 team, selectable from Season 2 of MyTeam and Driver Career - Request the artists of the F1 teams to make some officially licensed concept liveries, or be allowed to make them yourselves (extra incentive for the Podium Pass, aye :P)! Means we don't see the same cars over and over again, even if the livery tweaks are minor for some options. That's what I have so far, and quite a few are from other posts around the forums, RaceDepartment and your social media comments. I completely understand that most, if not all, cannot be done for 2021 or ever, but I hope it helps out the research team. Thanks for your work on F1 for the past decade, through high and low, and I look forward to more updates and games in the future.

2019 season is the same, I made a whole championship with 100% race lenght and there were only 13 points between the real F2 2019 champion De Vries (who only scored 36 points) and... Raghunathan... who scored 23 points and WON THE MONACO SPRINT RACE ! They took 5 months to release the 2020 season and they didn't solve one single problem between F2 2019 and F2 2020...

Hey Codemasters I just downloaded the latest update of your game ... I cant say anything bad on F2 2020, because its amazing and cool with the new wheels. 🙂 But one thing is very stupid for me ... There are unrealistic Drivers performance. Everyone knows that Mick Schumacher is the F2 World Champion, but in the game he is always 10+ on qualifying ... but there are other drivers also whos are unrealisticly bad in your game like Yuki Tsunoda, Nikita Mazepin, Louis Deletraz, Guanyu Zhou, Luca Ghiotto ... So i have tested A.I. Performance in Belgium. I went 5x times qualification on 110% Difficulty, here are the performance ranking in your game : Tested with Samaia, so he is not on the list ... As you can see MICK SCHUMACHER (1st in Real Life), YUKI TSUNODA (3rd in Real Life), NIKITA MAZEPIN (5th in Real Life), GUANYU ZHOU (6th in Real Life), Louis Deletraz (8th in Real Life), Luca Ghiotto (10th in Real Life) ... OP Drivers in the game : ARTEM MARKELOV (18th in Real Life) He is the best in your game 🙂, NOBUHARU MATSUSHITA (15th in Real Life), MARCUS ARMSTRONG (13th in Real Life) etc etc etc ... So this is completly wrong in the game !!! ARTEM MARKELOV 1 1 1 1 1 NOBUHARU MATSUSHITA 2 3 2 4 4 ROBERT SHWARTZMAN 3 2 4 2 2 CALUM ILOTT 4 11 10 7 7 CHRISTIAN LUNDGAARD 5 7 7 6 3 MARCUS ARMSTRONG 6 6 5 5 6 JACK AITKEN 7 10 9 8 10 DAN TICKTUM 8 4 3 3 8 JEHAN DARUVALA 9 8 6 9 11 FELIPE DRUGOVIC 10 5 11 10 5 PEDRO PIQUET 11 9 8 11 9 YUKI TSUNODA 12 13 15 12 12 NIKITA MAZEPIN 13 14 16 15 17 GIULIANO ALESI 14 15 14 14 15 MARINO SATO 15 12 12 16 16 GUANYU ZHOU 16 16 13 13 13 MICK SCHUMACHER 17 17 17 17 14 LUCA GHIOTTO 18 18 18 18 18 LOUIS DELETRAZ 19 19 19 20 19 ROY NISSANY 20 20 21 21 21 SEAN GELAEL 21 21 20 19 20

Don't you use like 270 though? Seems like a F1 rim would work fine for you.

If I'm around tomorrow, which COVID makes it look very much like I will be, I will join just to have a go in the 2020 F2s to see if they're just like the 2019 F2 cars. I think the wheels are different, that's it? Or were the 2019 cars Monza spec?

The weather information is in the Session packet in the m_weather field and then m_trackTemperature and m_airTemperature. The m_weatherForecastSamples field would give you the forecast for the session.

This is a good answer. A more locked differential provides better straightline performance as the rear wheels focus more on propelling the car forward. (more obvious when on-throttle than off-throttle) As for tyre wear, the main contributor to tyre wear is how much the tyres slide in relation to their direction of travel. In more simple terms, spinning the wheels too much, leaning too hard on them in corners, turning the steering wheel too hard or locking up the brakes all increase tyre wear. Lower differential settings help reduce the potential for wheelspin on-throttle, which is why some people like to bring that setting down. The main benefit of lower diff though is that when you get on the throttle you won't spin the car as much, which I presume is the primary goal.

I'm talking about the drivers who made their debut in F2 in 2020 and are not present in the 2019 season, i.e. Schwartzman, Ticktum, NIssany, Sato, Armstrong, Lundgaard, Samaia (the new Raghunathan xD), Drugovich, Daruvala, Tsunoda, Markelov and Pedro Piquet: will these drivers be also added in My Team career mode and thus be available for the player and for other F1 teams to hire ? And if so, will this apply to My Team careers which have already started ? And will other F2 drivers stats be adjusted according to their 2020 achievements ?

So, there is only one thing I have found to give me some playtime - which is resetting the internet. But this only works for a few races and then it kicks back into effect, and I for one, cannot be bothered to reset my internet everytime. I have contacted my ISP and Xbox and both parties have confirmed there is nothing on their end to cause this. Xbox has informed me that I am able to refund the game due to this problem, so all I can advise is that the option is there if you guys continue having this problem and cannot be bothered to deal with being ignored anymore too - because this thread hasn't been replied to since the first communication.
