Would LOVE to see some more mixed surface stages. One of my favorite things about Monte, as much as I dreads that place, is how great it feels fighting up/down the mountain and the dramatic change between tarmac, tarmac-ice, and snow-ice as you climb. Start giving me more of that in other locations, like the little bits of pavement in Australia. But why stop at just loose/hard surfaces? I love the idea of expanding it to have dramatically different loose gravel types as you cut across open fields before diving back into twisty wooded roads.

I demand somebody whack your head with a shovel every time you crash.

That's partly why I seem to do well with an f1 wheel. I like the quick throw from left to right for all those rapid corrections.

Doesn't it make the stage way more interesting and less repetitive? Bland stages is one of the most complained things in Dirt Rally, but what I think people dont realize they are actually referring to are bland road surfaces AND surroundings. -The tress look the same and its very noticeable from helicopter view. -The roads dont have any random dark patches especially on tarmac. -the forests and woods dont truly feel "thick" and "full" I mean you can see all the way back as far as the draw distance/fog will let you.

It could also be exposure correction; I know that's a thing in cockpit views at least.

What'd be nice is replays for all runs, even when re-starting. So those epic crashes you just couldn't stomach keeping can at least be viewed properly.

And to this point, it's why most of the drivers in the World Championship have been using less than 360° DoR on their wheels. For Dirt if you want WRs and the absolute fastest times you want immediate responses and super tight turn radius moreso than any amount of higher quality FFB - which doesn't require anything fancy to achieve. Now if you just want the best driving experience in games, the better stuff definitely has a lot of perks for the price.

Imo he got onto more wet place on gird or he just touched grass with his rear tyre while turning and he loose traction

I drive about 2 to 3 hours almost every day. Mostly time trials. I would like to have statistics on ALL miles / KM driven. Even when I cancel a run and restart.

Happy new year to you Kitty and everyone else here 🎉 On a personal note, I feel like I have become a better person this year. I have more of an appreciation of life and those around me and despite the **** we have endured, I'm the happiest and most content that I have been in years. Looking forward to what the future holds!

Fanatec has a drift mode setting that will literally spin the wheel from lock to lock bouncing back and forth. I use 2/5 to keep the FFB in a reasonable range.

I have seen people requesting more narrow stages but not sure I have seen anyone ask for wider stages until you just did. I never played Dirt Rally before playing Dirt Rally 2.0 and only recently purchased the first Dirt Rally for comparison along with Dirt 4. I don't feel like the roads need to be wider at all. If they were wider, I think it would be less representative of most real rally locations/stages. Rally is difficult and it doesn't surprise me that some people will crash quite frequently until they get their rally legs underneath them. I don't think that the majority of most stages are barely wider than the vehicles in Dirt Rally 2.0 either. They seem plenty wide to me. For me, rally is about knowing when to push and when to slow down to preserve the car. I wouldn't consider myself an extremely experienced sim racer, but I manage to get the car to the end of each stage without much damage, if any, most of the time. Sometimes I have a decent crash but it's not often. I ranked 102 for rally and 103 for RX overall (all platforms filter) in the last DR 2.0 world series qualifier that I participated in so I have decent pace as well. I didn't participate in the most recent one though because I was doing other things. I'm not putting that in there to brag, just to show that my lack of frequent crashing isn't because I am driving slowly. Clearly, there are many people quicker than I am. Also when you say experienced sim racer, that seems rather broad to me. If someone primarily plays circuit racers like ACC, rFactor 2, AMS2, etc that doesn't automatically mean they will be good at or have proper experience with rally. Some people can drive anything and be quick but I think most people need time and experience with each specific racing discipline. I am not very good at circuit racers but do okay in Dirt Rally 2.0 because I have played it since shortly after launch. I was pretty bad at Dirt Rally 2.0 when I first started playing it. After I got the hang of it, it became one of the most rewarding racing games I have ever played. Many sim racers that I follow usually only play rally games when they first come out and do very few if any videos/streams on them after that. It seems like they just do them for views and then move back to their circuit based sims. There is nothing wrong with that but I don't think that is representative of the skills of someone that consistently plays rally games. The ones that I see consistently playing rally games well after release are fantastic, have little trouble keeping the vehicles on the stages and are even setting world records in some cases. If they water down the next game to make it easier for people that play games for a short period of time and move on, I think they will lose more people than they gain. After all, Dirt Rally is a sim and not an arcade game. If people don't want a significant challenge then a rally sim probably isn't for them. Real rally is one of the toughest motorsports on the planet. This series is going after realism and the real rally that I watch has some pretty narrow stages. To me, making stages wider and easier would be the opposite of what the Dirt Rally games are trying to simulate (Real Rally). I will say that I think there is a place for wider, easier stages and that should have remained with the numbered Dirt games. I was sad to see stage rally removed from the numbered Dirt games. I think there is still a place for an easier, laid back form of rally for those that don't want the challenge of a rally sim. Dirt Rally and the future CM WRC games should definitely remain sim though. Having an easy Dirt Rally and CM WRC game would be somewhat of an oxymoron because there is nothing easy about rally.

Yeah the ymade a mistake ther ethat's fo rsure as Heat is actually a really good game. I got it last Christmas and it definitely has a NFS Carbon vibe about it and it' s definitely one of my favourite racing games in recent years. I feel optimistic about EA's move but I can understand the concern.

my feedback is if you wanting a better set up for times then for dirt rally there is no need to go past a logitech g29. same for most games. if you doing it for realism then yes the money maybe worth upgrading. dont think buying a better set up will make you better ! this is the sell many people will do. often you will end up slower on high end gear than cheaper stuff. also remember that many youtubers and streamers who advertise wheels pedals and such are actually given them by the company involved. not brought em. id personally stick with logitech or...a thrustmaster equivilent .

EA new track purchase option, pay for each track separately.. Its only official if you CC.. One of my worst fears.. And hearing "rebuild", if EA make F1 like NFS I'm committing myself to a mental asylum.. Everyone buy the F1 2020 disc and look after it like its your baby.. 2021 if Codies are able to complete this themselves. It will be the last of its kind.. I want so badly to be wrong on all my EA takeover fears.

Exactly! Podium Pass/Pitcoin shenanigans in a €70 a year game is malicious imo. And how about no items at all, but a livery editor instead.

Just saying... this should be in the base game, as it is part of every F1 race TV coverage since 2 or more years...

The question is really simple: Can we have something to create a rallycross championship inside clubs? We are many people wanted RX championship. For example, many volunteers helping RX around wanted to play RX with clubs. If not, I will suggest that. Thanks!

I dont care how old this topic is. And I dont care how many times its been brought up. Toyota has as heavy rally history as any brand in the DR games. And considering the fact that the celica dominated group A in the 90s so much so that they made new restrictions based around the newest version of the EVO at the time to limit toyotas success, that should be reason enough. Toyota has lifted their video game ban BS. Now why dont codemasters lift their BS and give us some toyotas, instead of ANOTHER SUBARU. There were already 5 subarus. Not to mention adding the two door GC8 was a waste since the sedan GC8 was already in the game. You could have taken the chance to put in the Old Legacy, Which McCrae drove... Idk if you guys just have beef with toyota, but this whole only being able to drive a st185 celica in assetto corsa is old. Assetto isnt even a rally game. Like what a joke. A stock car road/track sim has the legendary st185 and the largest rally sim doesnt have a single toyota. even after toyota lifts their ban on their cars in games.

I know a lot of the hardcore DR1 fans wanted smaller roads for DR2, but there was a reason why DR1 was so popular. I have never in my entire life heard somebody say "you know what? If Dirt Rally 1 wasn't so easy, I would have enjoyed it". It was only the people who spent 2000 hours in the game, who mastered every location. I am watching incredibly experienced sim racers play DR2, and they are smashing the car off of obstacles every single run. I can link you to 100 videos of this. If they can barley make it to the finish line, how do you think new sim racers are faring? The roads are not much wider than the vehicles in most places. Perhaps for DR3, we can make the roads even smaller, and just have a competition to see who can keep at least 2 wheels on the road at all times? Probably not the greatest idea for DR3, since we're pretty much already doing that now. If you make a game for hardcore fans of the first title, you will find very few people playing the second title, and even fewer playing the third. I don't really know any new sim racers who are playing DR2. The only people I know who play it, are again, the people who spent 1000+ hours in DR1. Not very many to say the least.
