  1. Exactly this. Although some mods might be able to do things on other games to a smaller audience, remember we have to publish the game to a worldwide fanbase, with millions of stakeholders from players to the sporting bodies itself. Different levels of stakeholders require different stringencies.

  2. I always think the exact same thing as you. You'd have to configure weather, ai racing patterns, racing lines, kerb behaviour, tyre wear, fuel usage, impact models, etc. All of that stuff, plus undoing the previous layout and making it obsolete, is bound to introduce bugs. It's definitely not a few hours work. I know it's a highly skilled team but they'd be the first to get the complaints if they divert resource to that and a different part of the game is underdeveloped.

  3. sentences like this or "it's easy to do" always make me wonder how people know this, are they game developers themselves or where did they get this info?

  4. Well for my part I apologise. Far too wrapped up in an argument over semantics than is really good for me, @Sector4 @Wynterdust, I get why you would make the assumption that you did, it came across to me like picking something to complain about just for the sake of it however I realise expectations are high at this time of year and people are wanting to see the features they enjoy in the game. Kick around these forums enough and you see a lot of complaining and sniping at the game, devs, community etc. and it can get a bit irritating, but it's no excuse to get caught up in a silly back a

  5. I don't know their pipeline and workflows and stuff but Turn 10 in Spain would take me about 2 weeks (ish) in terms of pure modelling and texturing changes. I am a Sr. Environment Artist at Ubisoft. The Australia changes would take a lot more time because the track work hasn't even been completed yet and they would have to work off of blueprints (not necessarily reflective of the final result). Also almost every corner on the track is undergoing some kind of change. So for Australia I agree it makes sense to update it in the next game. I don't understand not doing the changes to T10

  6. Some tracks are very old, which is what codemasters have done over the years where the tracks haven't changed at all. The truth is that they did nothing and now suddenly they have a lot to do so they can't do everything, the tracks should be updated every year then they would have little work and be up to date and after a few years you suddenly need a lot of changes on some tracks. This is the official game of F1 so it should have all tracks from this year done well, you know how it was a year ago and you can not accuse them of not making the tracks from the previous year but here everyth

  7. They do have a salary, yeah. Prost - 11m Schumi - 13m Senna - 12m Button - 6m Rosberg - 6m Coulthard - 4m Massa - 4m So they're... affordable? You can't start enough to hire any but you'd have enough for the first 4 possibly by mid-season. You could get all of them by mid-season but your facilities probably aren't good enough to get them. I'd say they're probably a season 2 onwards thing. In terms of why you'd bother getting the deluxe version; they are ONLY available for the deluxe version. If you wanted to play alongside them at all

  8. Doesn't really work like that. People who work on "thing A" won't work on "thing B" even if they don't have to work on "thing A" anymore. Especially in the case of Braking Point: it was written by writers from outside the company and the CGI cutscenes were also made by a different company that specializes in them, not Codemasters. But if you mean that Codemasters should have put more resources/money towards the side of the company that is in charge of making the tracks, I agree. They definitely should have and still should beef up that department.

  9. I'll pick a shortlist tomorrow in some downtime, and we'll vote from there. In the meantime, we do some exhibition races to keep us ticking over. No points, just pride. I'll pick this weeks track, then our champion @UP100, then our two awards winners for the next two weeks. Should take us to 21 nicely. Open invite as long as you are on the forums and around at the right time, and have joined the Steam chat.

  10. Like quite a few other people in here I’ve been dealing with this since the last update. I noticed it instantly after the last patch but have just been waiting for an update and it doesn’t seem to be coming. I only play this game online on multiplayer and it’s unusable. I’d say it works maybe 1 in every 5 races and the other 4 times it crashes after qualifying on PS4. I’m not going to fill out a bug report it’s the same as everybody elses but it’s about time it got fixed or roll the last update back. You fix things that only an anorak would care about like a sponsor not appearing on

  11. An option to set the amount of credit you have from the start would be an absolute great addition to the gameplay, the more the MyTeam mode becoming like a sandbox game, the better imo.

  12. They're definitely not free and one reason some of the less iconic of the selection are there is to be cheaper options in the game that players will be able to afford earlier on. I'd guessed as much when the names were first announced but I've seen this confirmed in one of the interviews (with Lee Mather I think) that came out recently. I can't remember which to link to quickly though, sorry.

  13. Have to say i disagree with this. Tracks being correct (and present for that matter) is absolutely fundamental to the official F1 2021 game in my opinion. Again, my opinion only, appreciate others may disagree, but i think they absolutely should have diverted resource and “under developed” other areas (such as fictional story mode) to get the fundamentals correct and included for launch.

  14. "Questions about F1 2021" or "Are Spain and Australia being updated" those post are the new "When Beta it's out" "Beta Questions", we just change the theme everyweek im curious about next week theme, maybe Classic cars? Who knows. Like @Ultra3142loves to say "Bear in mind" the game will answear those questions in about 3 weeks, keep calm ma man, the game it's almost out. And like i said in other post about the same question, Australia it's getting a new layout, yes, but we not even know if there will be a GP this year, they can cancell anytime.

  15. Maybe Championships mode? You know, if you want to do the season as an actual driver. Otherwise, I can't see any other scenario where it'll be useful. Grand Prix is usually used for one-off races and the daily weekly events for the Pitcoin Pass so it'd probably frustrate people if they get close to one of the achievements and a random engine blowout means they have to start again. (Although I guess you could turn Player Failures off in the settings, but people forget). Time trial definitely wouldn't have it as that defeats the purpose. Career/MyTeam and the Championship mod

  16. I should be clear, I’m mainly talking about the most well-known 4WD cars, the rear wheel drive cars of the era like the Nissan 240RS and the Mazda RX7 were incredible, along with the lesser known cars from the B11, B10 and B9 classes. I understand that the four wheel drive cars in the B-12 class were interesting as a “no rules” kind of experiment, and obviously they looked crazy and sounded wild. I just think they were too unwieldy to ever be very spectacular performance-wise. It’s not well-documented, as it doesn’t make for great video, but some have reported that there were times that the ca

  17. Yes it is a problem, which some players already noticed, that the AI, especially the teammate, gets faster with every update of the car. It seems that the development of the car even makes the driver faster, too. I already noticed that in Season 2 of My time mode, which made me quiet confused. In first season my driving skill on 101 matched perfectly to my car performance. I was fighting with the teams around me, made it sometimes in Q2, was rarely fighting for some points, when i had luck. In Season 2 after regulation change, I had the 4 best Car, so i thought to get into Q3 the most of

  18. Oooops... excuse me for that misunderstanding. 🥴 It was really meant as a compliment. After 11 stages we had a difference of 1 sec and then you stole me 11 sec on the last stage. 😵 Now knowing that you had 2 mistakes within that stage it is only much more frustrating for me.... (but only for a moment) 😆

  19. Sorry, I meant to have it as you say, only an option, for league races. Not mandatory for all multiplayer.

  21. Tom97 said that Imola, Portugal and Jeddah will be added later but the other tracks will NOT be updated until F1 2022. I read an interview that stated that China will not be available to use in My Team or Career. It will appear in Braking Point, not confirmed if it can also be used in quick races, online, time trial etc.

  22. Also, on a semi-related note, I hope that now the World Rally Car era is coming to an end, people appreciate how incredible the current-gen WRC cars are. There has never been, and probably never will be, faster cars on the stages. And before anyone comes out with the worst quote in motorsport history, gRoUp B wAs FoR mEn WrC iS fOr BoYs, the group A cars were beating the group B stage times by the early 90s without incinerating anyone...

  23. Big thank you to all the regulars who were here from the beginning of Season 4. It think it's safe to assume that this might have been our best season yet. I also believe that we can improve some things, but we should take our time with it. I do have some ideas for next season though. Congratulations to the winner @UP100 ,even among all these talented drivers, still the best one to come out at the top. Now, how should we vote on these? @BarryBL Most Improved Driver Community Spirit Award

  24. Hi CM, what about a new let's call it Training mode, similar to TT, but only private I would say and with some features like it follows... After choosing the track/time/weather/etc. (like TT) the player could choose how to play: - select the compound Soft - Medium - Hard - select laps number (1 or +) - select tyre wearing on/off - select starting wearing for each tyre - select the starting fuel amount - select on/off for fuel consumption - select on/off standing start This would allow a player to better simulate race pace, compare compounds, test the first lap,

  25. Again, this ad mentions in-game models for Senna & Prost while the F1 2021 Deluxe Edition ad doesn't. Not looking good, especially with the silence from CM.
