  1. Have you ever wondered what the Codemasters DiRT Rally Team's Ford Fiesta Rally4, driven by Jon Armstrong and co-driven by Phil Hall, would look like on the Ford Fiesta R2 in DiRT Rally 2.0? Well, you don't have to wonder no more!!! >>> Download link <<<

  4. Seems to have done the trick for me, which is good. I also noticed my FFB was much lighter, seems to have resolved itself after restarting the PS and game, but will monitor. I’m using fanatec gear, not sure if any other wheel brands are effected.

  6. Yeah because it's the Real Season Start, you can't start the season on Canada since they dont race there this year. The track will be at the game, dont worry, the new trailer has a lot of shots from Canada.

  7. A lot of real "sims" don't have 50% of the immersion that the Code have at the game. Of course a lot of things is missing on F1 game. Let's talk about your countdown. About VR most of the players come from consoles, so basicly the VR market it's so small that they think it's no necessary (for now) to add at the game, but i agree with you, they have VR on Dirt, why not on F1, right? But like i said before, a small group of people uses VR. About Red Flags the idea is nice, but no necessary tbh, they add some emotion IRL but for a game, it's too much unnecessary. No medical car, well ACC

  8. Thats all great. Really; it is. However, lets keep this in perspective here. It's their job to make the F1 2021 video game. They seem to pride themselves on it replicating the real season as that's often been the reasoning behind why certain things in the past weren't done. Heck, it was a common reasoning for new tracks not being added last year... "the game was meant to replicate the 2020 season and schedule" So, here we are in 2021 with changes made to existing tracks and now were being told the opposite. Fact of the matter is it's their job to make a game that replicates the real se

  9. It wasn’t! It was a mess last year with people posting about F12020 after release in the F12019 forum because they didn’t even know there was an F12020 forum, (myself included for the first couple of days). would be such an easy one to solve...

  10. F1 2020 cars are only going to be available in the Braking Point story mode.

  11. You can just ignore them, they are not a big issue for me.

  12. I hear you on that. I've been saying for years that there is nothing worse than when they take out tracks because they aren't on the schedule. All the ones you've mentioned come to mind. I know there are licensing issues there, but those facilities all appear in many racing games. We've got classic cars and classic drivers in the game now; it's time for the classic tracks. Especially those that have already appeared in the game in previous years. I also would love to be able to insert them into custom schedules in the various career modes, but i'd also be happy if they were just availa

  14. Ah, that's cool. I prefer the longer seasons but I do agree 23 might be a little too much. 20 to 21 was probably my maximum preference. With such a wide array of players with different preferences, it does highlight the need for continued ability to customise the game for our respective preferences. The more variety available, the more people will be content they can arrange it to their liking.

  16. In an ideal world, i'd personally would want loads of playable tracks. I'd want about 30sh in the game. The 23 that are actually in the plan for the season then places like Hockenheim, Turkey, Nurburgring, Malaysia, etc. That way I can mix up different seasons and stop it getting stagnant by doing the same ones over and over. I get there will be some issues as China/Canada/Singapore/etc were supposed to be in the game anyway so could be classed as licensed whereas those that were never intended to be would have less chance. Still, it doesn't hurt to hope for bigger changes to happen wit

  17. Agreed with @steviejay69 here. From the BETA test also, opening a forum too early can cause some confusion and carnage. Will be soon. BETA reporting is currently priority 1 at the moment, buts its on my to-do list
    1 point
  18. Pretty low priority to be fair. People do tend to post in the wrong section all year round. F1 Chat in the F1 2020 GD forum is okay, you can even talk about F1 2022 if you like 😉 I'm sure there will be a 2021 forum around the release date.

  20. I've just had another think and I remember seeing an Alpha Tauri touch the Wall of Champions in the first 30 seconds of the video when they're going through Braking Point introduction. It could be that it is just Braking Point content like China is potentially. It could be included in the trailer more often but I just remembered that happening. However, it is definitely in the game!

  21. @LogiUK Interesting - thank you. I think I understand now - the standard Xbox SDK (“Legacy Force Feedback”) covers all the standard inputs, and the additional input mapping only exists between the game and the device as it were - the additional inputs do not need to exist (and therefore do not need to be mapped or created) between the device and console as they’re not required there and core functionality (d-pad, enter, back, options buttons etc) are already covered by the standard SDK. The additional inputs are simply “passed through” the console to the game. I guess then Microsoft

  22. I know people want a realistic season so would want some tracks binning off if they don't appear but i'd rather they all stayed as the more, the merrier. China is definitely in as it features in Braking Point so they couldn't cut it out without redoing the story. It's whether it'll appear in the other modes that is questioned. You'd assume Grand Prix and Time Trial at least but I would expect the option for My Team and Career if it's actually in the game. Singapore was cancelled far too late for them to cancel it so might as well keep it in, I think. It'll most likely be another COT

  23. Yeah, I did notice that some of the clips from the MyTeam cutscenes looked a little un-polished and rough around the edges compared to some of the other footage. To be fair though I’d say yes it’s still definitely very much “work in progress” with more fine tuning being done on some of the visuals. If you compare some of the character models vs how they looked in some of the earlier YouTubers footage from a week or two ago (the Will Buxton clip as an example), looks a lot lot better and more polished in the new trailer. Pretty sure we saw similar things on earlier games t

  24. No specific date because things shift around in development so much. You can have estimates of course, but if a date is publicly promised and then a bunch of critical issues (bugs etc.) come in last-minute that can shift the timeline. If possible; it's always better to reveal a date once it's pretty much 100% locked in.

  25. I think you underestimate the work that has to be done to change a track in a game. It would take a whole lot more than a week to change everything, from visuals to physics, from AI behaviour to all info around it (career mode practice programs, the introduction of the circuit by your engineer and the commentary team etc). Besides that, it's not just making the changes, it's also getting approval from the FOM which may take weeks, it takes time to test everything, tweak as needed and test again. Even besides all the things mentioned above, the track is not even finished in real lif

  26. I think its just a matter of time. Things like the Safety car, localized weather, day to night seemed impossible at one time. Yet they where added and all worked after some fixing. Yes every game has some faults but no game is perfect. I am just waiting for the right level of immersion that im personally looking for. But F1 2021 has come very close. I am very tempted to buy. And i just might i just want to see some videos of at least 15% into the game to make a final decision. Cut scenes look cool but i hope they are less repetitive. I saw a quick snip of an interview in the official F1 settin

  29. First of all i am not here to bash this game like most. This is constructive criticism. I also fully acknowledge the massive steps forward codemasters have made in the past few years in the F1 gameing world. Things lacking in F1 games for the past 5 years that make me skip buying once again in 2021. (1) No VR support yet again. (no VR is not dead, as a matter a fact in E3 2021 a new set was shown named Valve Index VR Kit) (2) No red flags. Very basic yet still not there, lack of immersion (3) Where is the Aston Martin Safety car? If its been added and just not shown

  34. @LogiUK - Thank you for your comment. Sorry to be a pain - please bear with me as I’m trying to understand and I have some more questions. If I understand your comment correctly, it is up the the peripheral maker to define (and make the software for) the additional inputs they want on the Xbox side, as Microsoft do not have additional inputs pre-defined in the Xbox code. Fair enough - do Microsoft provide guidelines/ instructions about how a peripheral maker should go about doing that (depending on the types of inputs required) and leave them to it, or is it some kind of collabo
    1 point
  35. @LogiUK - thank you for that. Are you able to elaborate on these Microsoft limitations a 3rd party peripheral maker faces? You spoke on another post about the standard SDK (“Legacy Force Feedback”) being adhered to control the standard inputs and anything above that needing to be developed by the peripheral maker (I assume this is the “limitation”); do Microsoft provide guidance on how to acheive additional inputs this within a set construct that they define or is it a collaborative process between the peripheral maker and Microsoft? I.e. are the inputs above that of a standard contr

  37. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽 It just feels like the lack of general understanding about this in the consumer base has played into Fanatec and a Microsoft’s hands, and means we can’t ask the right questions - it’s probably where they want us while they figure things out, but is certainly bad from a customer relations point of view. While the information we have found and presented has moved the conversation on a bit, it appears it has moved it into a bit of a no-mans land; - If Microsoft are hesitant to open up their limitations, then we could direct our issues to them. Fine. If this was

  38. Hi all, I must admit, I do not think things are so clear-cut anymore. I started the topic originally to combat the Fanatec reasoning I was given that “Microsoft limits inputs on 3rd party peripherals to that of a standard Xbox controller”, and also to inform other Fanatec Xbox users of this as most have a long-held belief that the Microsoft were to blame because of this Fanatec reasoning, because well, Logitech did it. Since I’ve posted this on various forums (including Fanatec’s), the discussion has been interesting and at times, difficult (particularly on the Fanatec forum, w

  39. Its made even worse in cloudy conditions or when the track is dark asphalt as in France. Become quite annoying through the life cycle of 2020 and hope this will get a change going into 2021, all it needs is a thin white circle around a black or otherwise registered as dark blob on the minimap. Cheers!

  40. If I was to say that this track required more than a week of modifications, I would be exaggerating. The Barcelona circuit would require even less time. CM should have put more effort into updated these tracks for the launch date, given that no one knows when the three new track will be ready for the game. As it stands, the game will be launch with just the old tracks.

  41. I can see 7 turns affected in that picture alone... including an entire removal of a chicane. Plus it's the butterfly effect. You make one small change (widening a corner by 2.5m) and you have to change an awful lot of AI behaviour. Then propagate that change across 6 other corners, including a lot higher speeds through 9/10 affecting braking for turn 11. It's not just a graphical change.

  42. Six going by the picture above... Personally I'd much rather have the tracks right rather than Braking Point by the way, but if all track making relating time/skills are focusing on the new tracks instead then I can see the argument for these being more important. As an outsider I have zero appreciation of the true complexity of making such changes, as I rather suspect you do too.
    1 point
  43. Some tracks are very old, which is what codemasters have done over the years where the tracks haven't changed at all. The truth is that they did nothing and now suddenly they have a lot to do so they can't do everything, the tracks should be updated every year then they would have little work and be up to date and after a few years you suddenly need a lot of changes on some tracks. This is the official game of F1 so it should have all tracks from this year done well, you know how it was a year ago and you can not accuse them of not making the tracks from the previous year but here everyth

  48. Hi! We have a league called LON, we race every Sunday at 8pm uk time. We are looking for 3 racers to fill our last open seats, assists are allowed and people of all skill levels! We use realistic car performance, and put fastest people in the slowest cars and slowest people in the fastest cars to make an even playfield. If you are interested, you can send me a message here or PSN: modernpoika and we will do a test session with you to see where you would fit in :)

  49. Correct. The real reason of why is probably because: They will need to spend more time on developing it in order to make all of the F1 2020 cars eligible for every mode, and also for their own section too (Time Trial and etc). From what I have seen in gameplay and information, only 5 out of the 10 cars from the 2020 season are elegible in Braking Point; the rest are from the 2021 season (livery) -- atleast from what I have seen from the features trailer, but this could change. I think the reason of this is due to lack of time -- but maybe all 2020 cars will have the right livery
