  2. Guys, the menu burns your eyes away. Please, pleeeeaaasseee introduce very quickly a more eye-friendly menu design or a dark mode. Its not the intention of Windows and literally every other app to bring dark modes when you release a bright white menu! 😄 Thx!

  3. Does anyone else think that lockups are a bit harder to see compared to last year? just speaking visually theres no puff of smoke (unless its a huuuge one) and its quite hard to see the tyre stop rotating (again unless its a huge one) also its hard to hear the tyre locking too. not sure if its just me but definitely seem be struggling compared to 2020 in identifying all my lockups, so much to the point of im not sure if i am locking up or not (on more minor ones)

  4. Looks like people cracked the code on the kerbs here alright. Flat kerbs will treat you well and the tall, angled and sausage kerbs will literally take you for a spin. Couple that with the fact that eating a tall kerb can be somewhat counteracted by gentling down on the throttle and it all seems to align with the diffuser and the whole floor of the car playing a bigger role in the total downforce these vehicles produce. Now regarding the setups, I have no clue. I make my own setups and every tick on each of those sliders have the effect I expect on the handling of the car. So much that I

  5. It sounds like you’re locking the rear tyres if you’re loosing the car under braking. I don’t think you can get away with the rear bias as much as you could last year.

  6. After a few more races it seems to be those used to just putting their foot down no matter the location, angle or balance of the car that are having the most trouble. I know, that was me on 2020 lol, it just didn't punish you for it outside of a couple of notorious kerbs (Bahrain, Hungary). Now that I've got used to making sure I'm on tarmac before I put the pedal down, or at the very least on flat 'run off' style kerbs first, and just watching I'm not taking rounded or pointed kerbs in a way that would cause me to spin, it's a lot easier. Just takes some getting used to if you're

  10. Hi everyone, Patch 1.04 now live across PC, PS4 and PS5. Details below: Addressed an issue where users would experience a corrupt save if they edited their vehicle's livery from within the MyTeam HQ. Saves that were previously corrupted as a result of this bug will be able to be resumed after applying the patch. We are aware of some instability within the game for a limited number of users on PS5 relating to Ray Tracing. As such, we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily disable it to aid stability. We aim to re-enable this as quickly as possible, and we will p

  12. In a way, doesn't things like pressures and setups needing to be different each year relate to the real sport when teams rarely have the same car to the year prior and things like pressures need realising? Things are rarely the same year to year in F1. And I think the AI in GP Mode are in fully upgraded cars. Doesn't quite make sense why the player would suffer in comparison though.

  13. Well, then there should be an update to F1 2020 because when I buy the game 2021, I expect the 2021 season, not 2020 xD

  14. I can live with pretty much all of the current flaws. But please, give us a dark mode! That constant white background everywhere is killing my eyes. Especially when you switch between tabs and for a moment the whole TV is white is deadly at night. I also think they could have done a little better job with the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback on the PS5. I actually had to turn rumble to 150% for it to become somewhat noticeable, but it's still not very strong. I also agree that MyTeam is a little disappointing. It's my favorite mode but it just feels.... The same. I'm also not

  16. Apart from a couple of sound glitches e.g. DRS beep being really, really quiet, I wanted to say thanks to the audio team. The changes they made to the engine sounds are great and especially big thanks for giving us the option to reduce the volume of the AI cars. I think audio is often overlooked by a lot of people but it really helps make the game more immersive for us sim-monkeys. So, thanks for the improvements!

  17. Dear Codies! There is a significant difference between grandprix mode and myteam career mode that I do not understand and which I suggest / urge you to lift the limitations of "myteam" mode from: GrandPrix mode - now if I select single player grand prix mode, and choose "custom championship" the game lets me assemble an individual season of races, where I can add and remove single races. Like IRL F1 I can add double header races like driving Austria twice on back to back races. The game also lets me include China, Australia and Canada into this "fictional calendar" for a single se

  18. Anyone else finds this year's DRS graphic to be quite... bland? 2019 and 2020 were good for me as it catches my attention way before I get into the DRS activation zone, however this year it simply does not stand out and I end up missing the activation point by a few hundred meters as I wasn't ready to activate it and the only thing that caught my attention was the beep.

  19. I don't have the 2021 edition yet but from everything I could gather, if ever I get to lose my rear in a scenario like this I would check: My brake bias, as that is a telltale sign of rear tyres locking up. Bunch of reports of people having to shift their brake balance forwards relatively to their 2020 setups. If I'm not eating too much curb or grass and painted strips during the corner. Given that the driving model was changed to simulate the floor/diffuser downforce and low-grip surfaces, driving over the wrong surface would probably disrupt the balance too much and take me out

  20. I never understood the reasoning behind driver contracts being shorter than a season. IRL most contracts are 1 to 3 seasons, why do we have a few months contracts in the game, that makes no sense to me. Yes you should be able to fire a driver during a season (like Helmut Marko tends to do, times) but this should be a sensation and not something you repeat 30x over 10 seasons of myteam.

  25. yh but why should you make a game with the f1 2020 tracks on the 2021 layout that doesnt make sence the only thing from the actual f1 2021 season are the liveries thats it theres nothing more then that and thats verry dissepointed for alot of people

  26. It does explain what they meant when they said it was part of career mode. I wonder if they'll keep updating it for the next 10 years to make sure it's definitely still Real Season Start, although something (common sense) tells me that they won't and it'll only be until the end of the year. So it's less of a 'neat feature' and more of a 'Skip a few races that you don't fancy doing' mode. Maybe i'm just being cynical.

  27. No, it really isn't. It's an option, which as per the name, is optional, don't use it. Simple. This just all looks and sounds like operator error. The fleshy bit in front of the screen. Rather than an actual game issue.

  28. In 2020, if I started FP1 and for some reason decided to use two sets of softs, only the two most used sets of the session get thrown out, no? It doesn't have to be the medium/hard as far as I know, only your two most worn sets. I'm assuming the AI only used a hard and soft in FP1, so still had their medium for FP2. Now if they used a medium in the first session and the second session, yeah that's an issue.

  32. I find it bizarre so many drivers move around mid-season. Sure, its happened in the past but it’s typically the exception rather than the rule. These whack mid-season transfers are just a symptom though - The root cause of this particular issue is shoddy game design paired with mediocre coding that is deemed “good enough” to release into the wild after a token beta phase at a higher price than the previous iteration. At least they’re consistent.

  33. @QuickRick9 Restart Session = restart session. Naturally takes you back to the grid if it's done during a race session. Replay -> Flashback = Go back a few seconds before you crashed. Retire from session = retire from session and go to next event. Not sure what else you were expecting.

  36. I don't agree with you. There are many curbs in the game you can be aggressive on like real drivers do on the weekends. Those are the largely flat ones that are that way on purpose. Then there's the ones you shouldn't really be driving on. The sausage style ones, the angled ones. They're not meant for you to drive on and as you've likely seen many times on F1 weekends guys take too much curb and lose control. I think they ahve it spot on right now, the curbs don't need to change, our driving styles do.

  37. Does Codemasters even watch real F1? Why doesn't the AI top runners attempts Q2 with medium tyres? If I get into Q3 with mediums I automatically have a 25 second advantage because I'll 1-stop the race and all the AI is on 2-stop. Can Codemasters please refer me to a race where the top runners all did 2-stop in the last year or two? This really breaks the mode or any mode...as soon as my car is fast enough to get into Q3 with mediums I'll easily win the race. And don't tell me to just do Q2 on softs...it isn't my responsibility to have house rules to cover their laziness. I wa

  41. I actually quite like that! I'm like your standard user flittering between a yellow or pink livery as obviously there are vacancies for those colours now on the grid. I did try and go for a Yellow AND Pink car which i'll never do again as it looks like i'm driving Mr Blobby around. I'm currently at work so haven't had chance to fiddle with the Breakthrough one just yet to get anything decent but from comparing against the quality of the first podium pass, it looks like a positive template. If I can stretch using it out until the second podium pass then there bound to be other stuff t

  42. I'm happier if the tracks get harder as sometimes the races felt like a leisurely drive when you were driving in your own air. If it feels like a challenge to get a lap right every time then that's more representative of how it really is. Obviously there is a limit and it shouldn't be too far the other way where all enjoyability is sucked out of the game as it's a struggle to complete a lap but these early phases of a game where you have to adapt your driving style from the previous game are always quite a fun part for me.

  43. Supposedly you can play as China from the second season onwards. I imagine that implies that once you get to the end of the season, there is some aspect of customisation. Now, it's currently set up to be a 20 race season but I think that will automatically change to 23/16/11 or something along those lines and those three will be in by default. Unfortunately this is all guesswork but based on previous series, i'd have faith it will work.

  44. Seconded. I don't see the point of unlocking them or buying them if I can't even use it in the mode I'll spend 90% of my time in. It would just make sense, give players a permanent decal they can stick on their cars regardless of sponsors. Please add this in the game soon, Codies, it's a little thing that would just be better than what it is now with no effort on your part needed.

  45. Another not strictly relevant comparison showcasing the standard series S gameplay with the Ray traced replay shot. The 2 examples I did on the previous page were subtle but the effect is more noticable in wet conditions. First is regular, 2nd is Ray traced.

  46. I had the game failing to load with the exact problem. The problem isn't the game files at all the issue is actually a dll that the sonic audio mixer uses for your audio hardware. Disable the sonic studio hardware in the device manager and then rerun the driver installer for it. Instantly resloved my problem and game is running fine again.

  48. Yea my fuel was draining really fast in Bahrain in my driver career, wasn’t even shifting past half the rev lights every gear to try and save fuel and it still went. Restarted my race and put 4 extra laps of fuel in and drove very conservatively to experiment and I still hit low fuel mode on the second to last corner of last lap

  49. @JZStudios @Jake Cushing The debate about game engines and such is interesting, but please try to keep it to that and not attack each others' opinionated delivery methods. I don't want to see this get out of hand, so if you feel you need to reel it back in, think before you post 🙂 Try not to be this guy 🙂
