  1. So, I just raced my first few laps around Portimao and at first glance I gotta say, it is really really well done! The elevation changes translate really well into the game and the track feels authentic. I still need to compare it to some real life onboards for the usual minor nitpickings but based on what I've seen so far I think it's really well done. Either way, I tip my hat to the team on a job well executed. Can't wait to try it out some more and looking forward to Imola and Jeddah next 🙂

  3. As well as it obviously being great that we now have the Portimao track, I'm very pleased to see that Codemasters have also given us an approximate timetable for when other tracks and changes are coming 👍.

  6. Regarding setups, going by the Pirelli's track previews we'd have something like this: Pirelli also sets the maximum camber at -3.25°/-2.00° front and back respectively. From the selection above, that's close to the parameters for Mexico and Brazil 2019 (-3.5/-2.0) and Spain 2021 (-3.25/-1.75). Whenever I sit down to come up with a setup I bet it will end up looking like a mix of my Brazil and Mexico setups. @Meza994 my guess is that it is not intentional. ERS is greatly simplified in the game comparing to real life – and honestly, I'm mostly ok with that. If I'm not mista

  7. i would pay for extra DLC tracks and there are a few that codemasters already have completed (hanoi, germany,malasyia) and we all know EA love anything that makes them money hopefully someday this will be an option

  8. Great track, and not really that hard to learn must say. With the default balanced setup it’s perfectly driveable without being punished when using a lot of the curbstones.

  12. I’ve just raced Sochi and it finally happened to me... I hit a sausage and flew like Eddie the eagle.... the speed I hit it at the angle I hit it... is say the physics are pretty accurate.

  15. I think the race was some kind off deep fake sim... cause I’ve seen many a passionate rant on here that real curbs don’t cause cars to fly in the air like that.... Or maybe real F1 is as broken as the game😁

  16. You crest a hill on the exit of Turn 8, if I'm not mistaken. When doing so the weight is shifting quite a lot and unloading the rear. Depending on your rear wing setup and throttle application you're bound to have the back sidestep in there. I need to ease off the throttle as I get to the top and keep my eyes on the steering to not have issues compounding one over the other as the rear unloads. Not saying the game is correct or that you're doing something wrong. Maybe by the parameters you're running (setup + driving) you did indeed find a spot where the game simulation falls short, but i

  17. Just finished my first race and gotta say it’s the kinda off track I love... struggle at first but once field spread out I soon found it’s rhythm and even with the elevation changes it all flows nicely. Esp like last corner onto straight even if my tyres were screaming

  18. Thats actually the first time since 2019, that I regard the team performance implementation into the game as somewhat "realistic". The only points that would need slight adjustment are: Alpine is rated way too low and should be (just) above Alpha Tauri, both before Aston Martin A minor point being, that McLaren should just have the edge over Ferrari for the moment, ever so slightly And Williams are not below Sauber any more, look at the points table please (22 versus 3 championship points) That would be a perfect fit then.   20. Is it intentional that you run out of ERS in the middle of the last corner like 5 seconds off the line in qualifying? The track is great, just this little thing slightly irritating but also happening to the AI so its not a disadvantage

  21. It seems that Ferrari is just in top because of better durability and the chassis. In case of aerodynamic and engine mclaren is way better and that's what makes lap times.

  22. From what I have gathered EKS JC seem to be very strong internally. New build last year and another new chassis coming for next year, so there is clearly funding coming in. I guess my only concern with JC at the moment is that running cars in NRX might stretch the team a little thin. Johan is using a 2018+ specification car and Ide is in an identical specification car, so they are fielding the best they have in WRX... ...it is just unfortunate that Johan seems to be having a bad run. With two drivetrain failures in three races I do wonder if JK is driving the car in such a way that

I double checked my pictures (same resolution etc.) and I found that the bold font is shorter (Mercedes in the first picture, Red Bull in the second one), that's why it looks different, but in reality the whole bars are the exact same length, and therefore the different speed continues to be looked for elsewhere.   24. Havnt done this track but I have done trackdays at brands hatch and castle Combe. Both tracks on the straights have a crest right on your breaking point... Brands is terrifying cause you have to brake just before it then off brake settle the car (2 tons v8 rs4 ) in a fraction before turning down the hill where car gets light again then hammer it the instant it gains traction. Otherwise your in the gravel and think you definitely should have got trackdays insurance. castle Combe has more off a bump on the braking zone at the end off the straight leading into cliff (regarded as one off t

  27. Don’t go off track, over rumble strips etc.... try softer suspension. It wears quicker when the car gets knocked about.... I’d personally just replace it and take a grid penalty

  28. Solid track, looks as high quality as I expect from Codemasters. Agree with the above, a lap or two in and you can start attacking and finding areas where you can gain time, there's not anything major to worry about, little snappy hitting the throttle out of a couple of corners but this is with basic setup as well. Reference points initially tricky as there's not much going on around the track to pick out for braking but it once it starts coming together it has a natural flow to it, you can feel the Moto GP rhythm of it, and a final sector I'd love to see lifted wholesale into Catalunya

  29. Great job Codies, the elevation changes are incredible, it is a really enjoyable circuit. I think it is perfectly designed. Looking forward for Imola and Jeddah, I'm sure they will be perfect recreated. Honestly, great job

  30. Turkey should had been added to F1 2020 along with Nurburgring, Mugello, Portimao, and Imola. If CM had added all those tracks to F1 2020 then they would only need to add Jeddah to F1 2021.

Already out off date clearly mclaren are by far the best team.... only team to finish one two this season... and I hear you say that’s only because max and Lewis crashed.... into each other AGAIN. Remember Schumachers last couple off seasons when he in decline. Kept crashing into anyone he when wheel to wheel with.. Lewis is still awesome but he’s no longer a god... and max needs to be more lando. Max wants to be world champion but he’s judgement is clouded by his desperation to always outrace Lewis. Btw huge lando fan and orange is my favourite colour. So my opin

  34. - Aston Martin safety car has been added to tracks where it is used in the real season - wow - so only on the tracks of the real season, i guess its a license thing - Tyre wear MFG pop up bug is fixed...good one.. - At least some 2 player career stuff has been fixed.. it would be awesome to have the option to restart a session in 2 player career right away.. - Some good fixes I have to say.. - Hope the graphic problems like the dots on the tyres will be removed soon. - Understeering in certain corners and unrealistic AI speed + (maybe the ice curbs won´t be any

  35. ETA of the Retraining? I mean i dont need to drive on portimao when i get random oversteer in middle/fast corners! All updates will be useless until the handling model is not changed ... pls codies dont try to tell us there will be a huge update and than dont bring the handling update because the handling model must be the big update not than i can now spin off the road on an diffrent track!   37. If it happens to be in the F1 2022 official calendar, they might. If it's not, they won't. They're not going to make circuits if they're not required by licence because of the amount of work that goes into making a circuit, no matter how fun they are. Otherwise we'd have the Nordschleife by now. 😁

  39. I think the Frostbite discussion's gone on long enough and is starting to loop back on itself, so let's leave it here. @JZStudios If you examine telemetry Forza Motorsport 7's AI cheats a lot. Essentially, the way that it gets faster at higher difficulties is to have way more horsepower than you're allowed in an event or can even put on the car.

  42. Just some myteam R&D tips... Just some things I find help with getting the best performance and handling balance. In press interview I name chassis department as my department that gets the gold star. So I get spec 1... Weight reduction before weight redistribution... I generally get a major and a minor reduction first... Don’t see any benefit in redistributing weight before losing some first As for tyres this year doesn’t seem so important.. last year tyre R&D was a must. Aero I answer the press questions all aero based so I get a minor and major drag. And two
