  1. To manage expectations here: Firstly, thanks to those who have shown patience and helped me out in discussing that this process takes time. Very appreciated. We've had record amounts of applicants, more than 10,000 people. (That's a small football stadium full, for context). This BETA program will be our largest to date, however, 60%+ of applicants will not make the cut. I must stress that this isn't personal. We've more than tripled our player base for the BETA this year, and the response has been amazing from applications. Not a single code has yet been issued, and I'll updat

The game modes in which these distances are proposed should be everywhere The benefit of the suggestion by adding these distances, players will be able to test themselves on distances other than those currently in the game (3/5 laps 25% 50% and 100%). This is missing in the latest editions of the game starting with F1 2012. F1 2010 and F1 2011 distances like the ones I suggested were very cool. A player for whom 25% is not enough and 50% is too much would choose 35% or a player for whom 50% is not e

  3. Just popped in to have a read before I break up for Christmas tomorrow and have realised I'm probably a bit late to the party on folks worrying about everything to do with the takeover. I can't go into massive (any) amounts of detail, and you might well think I'm just blowing hot air to calm people down, but my honest message is that you have nothing to worry about. I've been in a lot of meetings about the future of DiRT Rally and our team this year, and have never had any indication that me or any of my fellow Directors and Leads will be asked to betray how we want to represent rallying

  6. Hi all, Playstation users will note that they have had a patch released today. This is a small update to provide further backend improvements. This will also happen further in 1.09 to Xbox, Xbox Series, PS4 and PS5 coming soon, planned to be released around next week. 1.10 will be the next traditional patch, released across all platforms in the usual manner. We have some exciting new additions coming for 1.10 (ETA to be confirmed), and once I have further news, it will be added to the forums. Many thanks, Barry.

  7. Firstly I would like to state this only my opinion and that many people may disagree with me which is completely fine. But reading forum posts, Tweets and watching glitches unfold every session I do, F1 2021 has been absolutely woeful so far in the games lifecycle. Now don't get me wrong some positives have been made like graphics for example, they are a major step up from last year and make the game look refreshed, Yet these positives are massively overshadowed by how bad the bugs and glitches have been so far. Some of these bugs include: - Cars loading into completely different tracks tha

  8. Let me preface this by saying I really enjoy F1 and the Codemasters F1 games so this is not senseless bashing but this game has really underwhelmed me. - Car performance is completely wrong, I understood why last year it wasn't sorted as the season had only just begun but this time around we're almost halfway done. Seriously there has been plenty of time for changes to be made, comes off as they don't care as people will buy it anyway. - Season calendar does not represent the real season. I am not talking about the missing tracks as I understand why they are missing but what makes n

  10. Tired of these popular “hmm yummy yummy right right left left top speed me lov it” setups, I did some testing. Wanted to know the influence of camber and toe settings on straight line speed. Just that. Results, not that great of a difference: For the setup columns, greens are minimal values and yellows are maximum values. Just to help on the visualization. In line with what I did for wing angle settings and drag here, I proceeded as follows: Time Trial on Monza, doing standing starts from the DRS line (count of 0m, green bar 100% filled) to make use of that lovely

Updates will come and so what if blah blah doesn't like this or that , you can't please everybody . Take it for what it is.... a game . Good job guys .

  12. Unfortunately we just aren't their market...true fans of the sport looking for a realistic representation of the sport. Not talking about simulation just a true representation of the sport. This is supposed to be the official F1 video game of 2021. We don't have 2021 car performance We don't have 2021 safety cars We don't have a full 2021 schedule and tracks We don't have 2021 Sprint qualifying format The graphics even didn't get a proper next gen upgrade. Literally all there resources went into Breaking Point which in my honest opinion was an average ex

  13. Hey both. Ok, the DRS beep is being addressed so you should get that in a patch. As for the positive comments, thank you very much. We put a lot of effort into each release and this year has been no exception, I'm a gamer and an F1 fan who gets to work with the teams and stick microphones on actual F1 cars during the winter test - that's a hobby! I can't tell you how proud we are of what we do. Despite working on an annual franchise we've been as busy this year as we always are, working on new audio features most will never noticed, improving what's in game already and taking a look

  15. Hello, I feel like we need a 3rd corner cutting system, because regular is too forgiving, often you can cut or exdeed corners by ridiculous amounts, which makes it unavailable to use for any sort of somewhat competitive racing. With strict however, its a system that many people simply dislike and don't enjoy, because the tracks nowadays are build in a way where the intuitive racing line doesn't get definied by the white lines on track edges anymore, the intuitive line often goes off the track, which is a flaud by the track designers, but nothing the game can fix. Therefore I would l

  16. And I want to share my experience and the stuff I found out. I actually raced up until midways throught the 8th season, at that point I was spending more time trying to figure out the AI more than racing and said "screw it" and simulated the 2nd half of the 8th season and all the 9th and 10th (more on that later). Team story: Started the first season running 50% races and 98 AI, finished the 1st season 9th in WCC, 4th the 2nd season, won my first WDC and WCC the 3rd season but my car was ranked 3rd in overall performance. Maxed the car and facilities in season 4 and from there

Look, I've praised the game and really really tried to give it a chance, but the unbalanced AI from track to track, the AI flying through corners that play can't possibly match, random crashing for literally NO reason, unbalanced my team driver transfers, and thats just the short list... did you guys not care to make sure that this game was completed before you released it? I mean we hear NOTHING from you guys, you message Barry or another admin and they talk to you like your their child... I mean hell.. what was beta testing for? Why are you guys being so silent? 19. The point here is that they want people that know how to make bug reports and follow them up. It doesn't really matter if you play the game 24/7 if you never report what you find and assist in finding the cause to problems you encounter. People wanting the get the beta just so they can play the game before everyone else is of no use to the developers. They need people that are willing to actually work to make the game as good as possible.

  21. That's it. After all the years, the state of these recent games makes me and many others to just quit F1 league racing completely. Well done Codemasters. Time to find fresh alternatives. Can't wait for the Indycar game in 2023! Here's a small list: - driving over grass is faster - drifting/sliding is often faster - cars too fast and unrealistic - kerbs make clean racing almost impossible - force feedback bugs still exist - no slipstream effect - now new (?) glitches where people can use two setups at once... just how - setups from 1 to 11 sin

  22. So I've been under the impression that the track rubbers in over the race weekend in these games, but I struggle to ever 'feel' it. Does the track genuinely get quicker as the sessions progress through the weekend? Does it speed up from Friday to Saturday, or do you just get faster as you do more laps and get more comfortable with the track? I decided to run a test yesterday. Method To test this out, I set up a a race weekend at Melbourne in Grand Prix mode using Daniel Ricciardo. I did a flying lap at the beginning and end of every practice session and a single lap in all three

  25. Hi everyone, So, i had this suspicion while racing Silverstone in MyTeam, where the AI has insane grip through the second sector (especially Copse). You can check Tom97's video in regards: I got to Spa in my career, and the same happens through Pouhon (I've read about Zandvoort too, but yet to race it). The AI just has so much grip, it can go easily flat without understeer or lateral sliding that the player has to deal instead. I recorded a quick video to compare myself to the AI in that corner: Granted, it's a MyTeam car vs a Red Bull, but a 40 kph di

  26. Very disappointed having purchased the deluxe edition to find out that Schumacher, Senna etc are not available as avatars to use in driver career mode. Senna, Prost, Schumacher etc were all available in previous versions of the game. Could this be patched in Codemasters, if you don't play my team mode then the deluxe version was a pointless purchase.

  27. F1 2021 Training Wheels For anyone spinning too much on curbs or having a slippery rear when back on the throttle, two quick tips. Increase your rear toe. The rear axle runs with toe in, meaning the wheels are angled so that they point in across the car. This makes the car more lenient with throttle application i.e. more stable as the driven wheels are also working to keep the car "together". This will help you put more power down quicker and will make the car less skittish when riding curbs. Don't hesitate in running with an absurd amount of rear toe for a lap or two until you ge

  28. Apart from a couple of sound glitches e.g. DRS beep being really, really quiet, I wanted to say thanks to the audio team. The changes they made to the engine sounds are great and especially big thanks for giving us the option to reduce the volume of the AI cars. I think audio is often overlooked by a lot of people but it really helps make the game more immersive for us sim-monkeys. So, thanks for the improvements!

  29. It needs to be done. I understand thay maybe FOM does not like the idea of cars being damaged and sponsors not seen, but in some form it has to be a way of getting rear wing damage. Not even mentioning sidepods, normally when you hit them they are a bit damaged, why does it not affect the cars pace? At least it should be in simulation mode! Rear wing could be damaged the same way its not even needed that it breaks down if its not possible, but at least to get damage.

  30. To extra clarify. EA are publishing this game, Codemasters make the game. There's no pack mechanic in Podium Pass, and Podium Pass is purely cosmetic. Also, you don't have to spend 1000 euros per year on F1, or FIFA for that matter. I spend £10 a year at the start of FIFA because me and my brother have saved that money by historically game-sharing. Never put a penny more into the game, and my FIFA Ultimate Team is pretty good. To speculate that on F1 is pretty far from the truth. I appreciate the enthusiasm here, but a lot of this is purely speculation in this topic. To play devils

Friday-Racing has become a fixed and greatly appreciated constant in some of our weekly routines. During times like these, it has been something I’ve come to appreciate a lot and I am sure many of us enjoy the races just as much as I do. It is the good races that we remember the most and I would not want to miss any chance to make the next one the best race. Not always has everything been perfect, but let’s not dwell on the past and instead look to the future, for th

See below: Is there is any I have missed, please let me know. I must stress here, it is areas/corners (basically specifics) I will need and where the AI gain a substantial advantage BY COMPARISON to your peak performance, not necessarily areas that are difficult. 40. Dear Codies! There is a significant difference between grandprix mode and myteam career mode that I do not understand and which I suggest / urge you to lift the limitations of "myteam" mode from: GrandPrix mode - now if I select single player grand prix mode, and choose "custom championship" the game lets me assemble an individual season of races, where I can add and remove single races. Like IRL F1 I can add double header races like driving Austria twice on back to back races. The game also lets me include China, Australia and Canada into this "fictional calendar" for a single se

  42. I don't agree with you. There are many curbs in the game you can be aggressive on like real drivers do on the weekends. Those are the largely flat ones that are that way on purpose. Then there's the ones you shouldn't really be driving on. The sausage style ones, the angled ones. They're not meant for you to drive on and as you've likely seen many times on F1 weekends guys take too much curb and lose control. I think they ahve it spot on right now, the curbs don't need to change, our driving styles do.

  45. To play devils advocate here, the handling of the cars was the main overwhelmingly positive piece of feedback we had last season. From George Russell and other F1 drivers, the BETA testers, our regulars here, the actual driving of the cars was much improved from 2019 to 2020. I agree it can always be better, but driving the cars on track last year was a massive step forward, and, for me, a enjoyable experience. Also on your first point, we have some incredible pad players who are mega quick (@Flash224 and @Retentive won't mind me appreciating their talents). For me, you should be ab
