  1. To manage expectations here: Firstly, thanks to those who have shown patience and helped me out in discussing that this process takes time. Very appreciated. We've had record amounts of applicants, more than 10,000 people. (That's a small football stadium full, for context). This BETA program will be our largest to date, however, 60%+ of applicants will not make the cut. I must stress that this isn't personal. We've more than tripled our player base for the BETA this year, and the response has been amazing from applications. Not a single code has yet been issued, and I'll updat

  2. Hi everyone, You all thought we were done for today, didn't you? On the back of 2 weeks of very successful and useful BETA testing, we have had extensive feedback from our current player base and we are looking at putting those into action. For BETA Week 3, with date TBC, I'm delighted to announce we will be DOUBLING the amount of BETA testers for the program!! This is due to the overwhelming feedback and our desire to test and improve the Multiplayer experience for F1® 2020. To do this, we need more drivers in lobbies, battling it out online and making sure our experience

  3. I would like to propose to add new race distances of 35% and 75% or other distances. The game modes in which these distances are proposed should be everywhere The benefit of the suggestion by adding these distances, players will be able to test themselves on distances other than those currently in the game (3/5 laps 25% 50% and 100%). This is missing in the latest editions of the game starting with F1 2012. F1 2010 and F1 2011 distances like the ones I suggested were very cool. A player for whom 25% is not enough and 50% is too much would choose 35% or a player for whom 50% is not e

  5. Hi all, Just popping into this thread with less gossip, but more a heads up - the patch is confirmed to go live at 11am tomorrow! RaceNet will go down for maintenance (for a maximum of an hour) while we patch the game, so please make sure you're not in game when that happens as it could compromise event times uploading to the server. I'll be back early tomorrow morning with a Road Book featuring patch notes and some information about what we've tweaked server side too - as well as more info on how we're doing with FFB. Looking forward to getting the fixes and the info out to yo

  6. Hi all, Just wanted to pop in and say hello after taking a week off - I'm now back in the office for aaaaaages, although we do have a few people out at GDC at the moment! Just on some of the discussions I've seen: we'll be patching the game hopefully Wednesday (subject to approvals and everything going smoothly). When that's all locked in, you'll get the full patch notes. We've addressed a lot of the stuff you've been asking for... the FFB is with our handling team, so no changes on that front - but we've managed to squeeze a lot in for this patch. I'll have specifics for you when it's al

So if you cant be bothered or just don't know how to tune then this channel will eventually be a one stop shop for you. The most up to date setups will be in the SETUPS section of my channel home page. I will be holding polls in the community section of my YouTube channel to choose the next car. You Can find the polls here https://www.youtube.com/c/GTRTechnical/community The plan is to tune every car in the game for every location. This is what i

Fabia Rally and C4 Rally has got 1-1 "real" livery only. 😞 I could make 10 liveries for each, but i can't do that because they are already locked (crypted) So my question is: could you unlock all the DLC cars? 😄 Or at least could you share a .pssg files instead of locked .nefs for modders like Me? It would be a win-win connection! 😉

  11. Hey guys, Lets collect the wishes for the next game. I just think CM already works on F1 2020 so maybe we will give them some ideas what the people want the most. Lets start: (!!!) 1.1 Coop-Championship -> like it was in 2018. Real life car performance. Online with friends. Saving between sessions. 1.2 Coop-Career or Versus Carrer (!!!) Liike the singeplayer but you can race with at least one friend for the same team and upgrade it together OR: you can also race for different teams and improve those (!) 2. 12. It appears the era of DR2 will come to a close once the Flat Out DLC is out, and so we begin to think about the next game in the series. No, not DiRT 5 - that's a different subject entirely, and I hope Codemasters learned the lesson from DiRT 4 and don't try to cross the two streams again. Push D5 in the 'fun, more arcadey' direction, and build on that. No, this is about DiRT Rally 3! From chatting on the DiRTy Discord server the past year or so, a few common topics have emerged regarding the strengths and weaknesses of DiRT Rally 2, so I thought I'd post this list here, to be kept update

  13. Just popped in to have a read before I break up for Christmas tomorrow and have realised I'm probably a bit late to the party on folks worrying about everything to do with the takeover. I can't go into massive (any) amounts of detail, and you might well think I'm just blowing hot air to calm people down, but my honest message is that you have nothing to worry about. I've been in a lot of meetings about the future of DiRT Rally and our team this year, and have never had any indication that me or any of my fellow Directors and Leads will be asked to betray how we want to represent rallying

The Gossip thread is the heart and soul of the DiRT community, and it's a privilege to play just a little part in it. Hopefully by now, a lot of you will be heading home to enjoy the game for the first time - and honestly, I hope you all love it. It's been a labour of love for us here, and we think we've created our most special, focused and authentic off-road racing game to date. I hope you feel the same way. Thanks a thousand times over for being so kind, so patient and so u

  20. Hi team, I have some feedback on the decision to leave DLC nefs encrypted. I’ve tried (somewhat unsuccessfully) to keep this to the point. I've made the key points bold to aid in sending feedback upwards. Firstly, I appreciate the open communication from @PJTierney on this. This is much, much better than keeping us in the dark. Thank you team. The main reason you’ve encrypted these files is based on the concern that if left unencrypted, players won’t purchase the DLC but will export the DLC models and replace the model of an available car. Some perspective:

  25. Hey all, Thanks once again for all of your feedback so far on GRID, which has helped us already centre in on some topics and areas to investigate and address. A quick update I can give you is that the first patch is already in the works, and we're working hard to see what community-driven feedback can be included in there. Before that though, we'll be looking to implement a 'hotfix' of sorts for a few other things we're working on. So TL;DR - patch on the way soon. Hotfix on the way even sooner. All details will be with you when they're confirmed. Thank you 🙂

This will also happen further in 1.09 to Xbox, Xbox Series, PS4 and PS5 coming soon, planned to be released around next week. 1.10 will be the next traditional patch, released across all platforms in the usual manner. We have some exciting new additions coming for 1.10 (ETA to be confirmed), and once I have further news, it will be added to the forums. Many thanks, Barry.

  27. Hi guys, I’ll go straight to the point with this probably useless topic. I’ve been playing F1 for 8 years and I am thinking about giving up with the franchise. ”ok who cares, stop bothering us, we are enjoying the game”. The game is in fact enjoyable, I have to say it’s challenging, has great graphics and it has the official license so most of the users (casual players mostly) will be happy with it, but there’s a thing I want you to think about: this game is utterly shallow, dull and lifeless. Why? Because in general, it has no “mojo”, it’s not “dynamic” and “ali

  28. Hi team! So, there's been a bit of confusion over which Impreza's going to be in the Season One pack. After double and triple checking, I can confirm that it is the 2008 Subaru Impreza coming in Week 9. We were right in the first place, the correction was wrong - it's the one piloted by Petter Solberg in the top flight international rally championship 11 years ago. However, because of the boo-boo, I'm allowed to tell you this: there was only confusion because we'll be bringing the 2001 Impreza to the game in another Season. 😉 Sorry again! The good news is, we know to double and trip

  29. Firstly I would like to state this only my opinion and that many people may disagree with me which is completely fine. But reading forum posts, Tweets and watching glitches unfold every session I do, F1 2021 has been absolutely woeful so far in the games lifecycle. Now don't get me wrong some positives have been made like graphics for example, they are a major step up from last year and make the game look refreshed, Yet these positives are massively overshadowed by how bad the bugs and glitches have been so far. Some of these bugs include: - Cars loading into completely different tracks tha

Let me preface this by saying I really enjoy F1 and the Codemasters F1 games so this is not senseless bashing but this game has really underwhelmed me. - Car performance is completely wrong, I understood why last year it wasn't sorted as the season had only just begun but this time around we're almost halfway done. Seriously there has been plenty of time for changes to be made, comes off as they don't care as people will buy it anyway. - Season calendar does not represent the real season. I know Kankkunen is credited with the line (and I am well aware of his career) but, as brilliant a driver as he was, the statement is daft and I am tired of seeing it repeated ad nauseam on forums and social media, when it is utterly nonsensical. Group B was an incredible time for car development, but that "...Group B for men" line is ignorant of pretty much everything that has gone before and come after Group B. Group A cars were beating Group B stage times just a few years after the banning of Group B and the current crop of cars would run rings around any period Group B machinery. The

There's some people complaining about that lack of guiding text in steam reviews. Just take what's in the PDF, shorten it as necessary and paste it in the game for each setting accordingly.

And FYI, the command lines like -vrmode Oculus are placebo, @PJTierney said here that there is no command line option for Steam version: https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/41487-vr-dirt
