If changing tires extends your overal race time, (by adding another stop)
then one would be insane to still do it just because 'changing tires takes shorter than changing wing'

If there is a safety car for instance, time loss doesn't matter one bit (mostly). what DOES matter is if the game switches you off the tires you want to be on, just because you need to change a wing.

I wonder if this has ever happened in real life.

What about LAN game? Does it have less dependies to CM/Steam? In LAN session is all traffic only going between drivers via host's PC? So is it more reliable than unranked session? If you create your own "virtual" LAN using VPN, can you just create LAN session in F1 2019 and play with that without these issues?

Basically what you're doing with a "Virtual LAN" is creating a P2P network over the internet. That's basically the same as what you're doing with online multiplayer, but there may be differences in networking between LAN and online which can cause more instability.

You can try it, but it may prove to be more work than its worth 🙂

This is very true, and I would love a Project Cars 2 type of game developed by Codies. A game that features many of the famous tracks. It doesn't have to be a GT with over 400 cars but it can be a game with high track variety and car variety. #firstpost 🙂

    Welcome to the forums! 🙂

  4. We got all of the issues fixed through PMs 🙂 Here are some of the actions you should take if you're encountering issues while launching the game, or using GFWL.

    Suggested Fixes
    Complete Reinstall of GFWL

    1. Remove the following software:
Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable
      Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace
    2. Download and install the latest version of GFWL from this link
      https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=201134
    3. Restart your PC (Just in case)
    4. Log into the GFWL Marketplace (Just in case)
    5. Launch the Game

If you're stuck in signing in and the game freezes if you click anything
The fix for this is fairly simple. Wait for 5-20 minutes until you've successfully signed in. This issue won't happen again on the same machine (except if you clear your hard drive etc.)

    Still crashing?
    Try removing the hardware_settings_config.xml
Path to the file: <Username>\Documents\"My Games"\FormulaOne2011\hardwaresettings\

It seems a bit strange especially when the game of the year edition is about to be released and 2 days later you get the game for free lol🤪🤑🏎🚥🍻🍻

...No? Offering the base game for free that the consumers would buy the Seasons isn't really strange... especially because this is just one platform.

I'm not against you criticizing Codies, but please try and avoid suddenly jumping into another subforum to make a thread like this... because so far not many have even understood what you're on about 🙂

    2.    We can have Equal performance F1 2019, which means the cars might be equal but Vettel and Hamilton will be one of the many and Stroll will be just as strong, so for a championship contention the AI is really irrelevant, as the winner in 1 race will finish 17th the next time round

I believe drivers stats won't be equal, so the driver with the best abilities has a higher chance of victory.

  7. Hey!

I've hidden some comments from this thread. Remember that posts must not be "likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person". That rule is really vague, but I think we crossed the line this time.

    Hopefully you'll understand 🙂

Is anyone even bothered about this game anymore, in the current climate

This is the normal cycle of F1 games. New Trailer -> Hype -> Features announced -> Hype -> Small amount of people say that they will not buy the game -> Hype -> Game gets released -> most are happy for about two weeks -> Problems start coming in -> People still consider the game good -> and then we come to this day in which most people active here are complaining.

When it comes to the list, the genuine desire of the community to improve the game, and codemasters (allegedly) new transparent attitude, words fail me.

I appreciate that BarryBL is doing his best, however it seems his hands are tied and the sentiment behind his role is the appeasement of forum members at best. It would appear that, in truth, there is very little genuine desire within the company to address the issues with the game raised by the community.

Comments like the above, said in jest no doubt, only serve to highlight the truth and push customers away.

You don't seem to remember "the list" either 😛

Taking a break from the Grid Forums and posting something simple in here, possibly to engage the community now that I am being called a "Community Leader" by some people in the Grid Forum (Names will not be mentioned here). How is your day going on now that you are in the Codemasters Community? What is your favorite Codemasters game? maybe a game not made by Codemasters?

Just a very simple thing, I did not make a poll due to the fact it might exclude some people who like a game not mentioned.

I've merged your thread to this one, as this has some history behind it and it was on page 2 of the forums (so I'm not blaming you for missing it! 🙂 )

I'm trying to get some kind of answer out eventually, but I'm currently thinking about it... slowly 😁

  11. Hey!

The game uses GFWL (aka older Xbox Live) for its multiplayer, so as long as you know how to install the latest version of GFWL from the internet, you should be able to play multiplayer just fine.

The GFWL marketplace was shut down in 2014, but all the GFWL's social stuff (including multiplayer) still work 🙂

Well, Hulk isn't like a rookie right? They need to get people like him in to help develop the true handling model of the cars. With all respect, but Davidson is out way too long to even remotely come near the knowledge of the handling model of the past F1 cars.

Hulkenberg would be a golden asset in this case. Though he never had a podium, he was always a constant driver who drove for multiple teams and knows the differences between good and bad cars.

Though real life racing and simracing are different in many ways. You can't feel anything else than the wheel FFB for example, so it could just be that he was caught off by that... or maybe he is comparing them to the F4 tier cars of rF2? Like rF2's Formula ISI cars for example are two times more slippery than Codies F1 games ever.

or maybe he played rF2 with TC on medium 😁 That's the default value for some reason!
