  1. Wasn't really interested in it due to it being on a the game it was. Apparently the official broadcast was horrible, and most people seemed to enjoy the event because they were watching someone they like, such as Broadbent or Norris.

I liked the Formula ISI race event made by The Race though, but that's obvious given my background 😁

My latest purchase, is from a seller on eBay. It is one of these, for LEGO Super Heroes collection:

It was exclusive to the LEGO The Batman Movie 70903 The Riddler Riddle Racer set in 2017, a set I did not want. The cane can only be found in the set and is hard to find it for sale on it's own. I managed to convince the seller to split one away from the minifigure and to sell me the cane only and they did!

Please not that cane is as large as the image may portray. The size of the cane is much smaller and is LEGO minifigure scaled, if you know the size of these.

    Huh... xP

No, I'm not sure at all and I'm guessing based off of the recent CodeMasters landscape changes. They just acquired a new studio that brought on new resources and tons of new knowledge. We've known since DR1 that the current engine has been a giant thorn in their side and is one of the limiting factors for stage lengths.

The next game will have at the least an overhauled EGO engine. Maybe not a full rewrite, but a heavily modified and updated one.
They have SMS now and the the super fine details that came with the studio for tire models and circuit knowledge.

I doubt there would be almost any additional resources, as SMS will most likely do their own thing. It's quite rare to see Codemasters acquire existing studios, so we don't really know (as Evo was only brought back to life)

Engines are always problematic, but the amazing thing with them is that they can be modified to fit their needs, such as with the Guildford's Operation Flashpoint series, which introduced the huge 200 square kilometre map, lua scripting and loads of new engine tools for example.

I'm thinking the same about the next game having an overhauled EGO engine, but I wouldn't bet on it being ready for at least many months 🙂

    Australia is cancelled.

So, yeah, get on it Codemasters: get them doing virtual races for the ones that aren't on TV 😄

As far as I understand this is yet to be confirmed, although it is quite likely. I do think there are at least some people who still would want to race, like always.

Omg out of curiosity today I looked through the academic staff list for my whole university. And I'm the only lecturer in their 20s (there are research fellows in their late 20s which what I started as at 26)...the next youngest is in the bio-chemistry school and hes 31. I was made an official member of the teaching staff at 28!!!! Now I feel even more inadequate...Phew....

If I could go back I reckon I'd say to my parents, please don't accelerate me through school, let me go and graduate at the normal age (17or18 in Australia)...I was 14...I was at uni at 15....I've always struggled with my age related anxiety in my career or while I was a student...I was a teaching assistant at cambridge at 24....that was horrid 😞

I feel so insecure about it, gonna make an appointment to see my shrink I think 😞

Mate don't be insecure about your age now! I'm sure loads of people would've wanted to be as young as you and especially when you've advanced so far in significantly less time than others 🙂

It's still not a good response, even in that context. The expectations from 2019 games should be high, because the industry set them high. Before a company releases a poor game, it should manage its own expectations for its target audience' reaction when the product is not on par with competition or its own other games using the same engine.

I think the responce is just telling you that you shouldn't go and expect the changes (that were previously talked about) to be developed to the game at this point. Expectations should be high, yes, but we've been told that they don't have the resources to change it... which is better than being quiet I'd say.

Everyone has to manage their expectations based on things we know. Even developers have to do it all the time, which is a problem for especially new developers 🙂

Autosport's AI may not have been the best but at least they acted with a certain degree of etiquette on the track.

The etiquette of not controlling their cars and just smashing into you at corner exists as they just couldn't bother to keep their wheel pointing toward the apex 😁

  8. It's soon time for F1. Considering that there are around two-three of us here right now, I might as well say this here 😛

Australia will always be exciting no matter what... except that people will always talk about how boring the new season will be after the race!

The "officially licenced F1 game" is supposed to be as close to reality as possible.

This is a bit weird presumption. I'd say the Official F1 games' goal is to primarily be for everyone, and only after that being as close to reality as possible. Such as the driver being the main person behind all R&D isn't realistic, but it provides a better experience for many of the players (although I do like the old R&D more).

It's also hard for us to sometimes grasp how the handling should actually be like as we compare it to the last year's game, and not real life for instance. When we compare it to real life, we usually compare it to the world's best drivers' performance (like in here), which may skew our expectations of how the car handling should actually work, as many of us aren't even one of the best drivers in the F1 games (Well... certainly not me at least 😁)

Another ideas: false start for AI and players (see link Youtube video on this) and problem during the start (see link Youtube video on this). In my opinion, can be a good idea. What do you think about it?

What do you mean by false start? Wasn't there an issue with the lights that weekend?

Jump starts are already possible at least on older F1 games.
