As far as I've understood, the audio team is there once again. At least it seems to be that issueskid is there 😅
Though I doubt the actual audio files are the issue, moreso trying to emulate all kinds of audio effects, such as reverbs from materials they created some years back.

47 minutes ago, Dehel said:in your explanation we should understand ...that the problem is not solvable ? we have to wait for the PS5 ? ...whose latency ? the console ? the internet connection ? in my league we are 4 in fiber optics
Whatever the reason, it makes the league game annoying, unrealistic, desperate, And what would already be a plus is if codemasters could say "yes it's true, we see what you're saying, it's coming from this, we're working on it, we can modify it, we can't..." in short, they hear us and talk to us.
So we get taken out by a stupid AI ...and we have to start all over again because the backup doesn't work...well...when we were only playing online with our friends...now it's dead or almost dead....
Warning this message is not a virulent against you moderator and staff...just extremely disappointed by codemaster...
I can only talk in a general sense as I'm not and never have been an employee at Codemasters. P2P connection stuff is also ridiculously hard for me to make alone at least, so my experience with it is... certainly quite low 😕
Basically in single player the AI will immeadiately know where you are, but in online the actions are often delayed because the machine that is running that AI's calculations get your positions later than what it would in single player.
It's unlikely a new generation of consoles would really have an effect in this except in cases in which the console doesn't have enough time to send all of the multiplayer information, or do the calculations. Though latency is caused by many different things, most of which I probably don't know about.
The most optimal setting for AI calculations would most likely be a some kind of LAN enviroment. There is an option for a LAN game on the PC version at least, so it could be tried there (though do note that it actually has to be in LAN, and not through Hamachi or similiar programs, as those cause even more latency)
-
I think what Barry means is that there is no difference in AI calculations between modes.
Most likely "more stupid AI" is caused by the latency and processing that goes into handling multiple players and trying to sync between them.

These usually tend to have quite next to nothing to do with the engine in itself. For example you've also said the LOD is fine in F1 2019, no?
but yeah. We don't know how the code is managed at all, and which parts of it are the engine, and which are game specific code. If only they would be using Unity... we could just read through the entire code (or at least with normal C# applications/games)

Well there is always the ERS assist if you don't want to handle it yourself... as technically it's an assist they use in real life 🙂
I don't think I lose that much by having the assist on, though I tend to forget about it completely. Usually when I lose it's more due to my poor driving than the ERS 😁

I dont know if you remember, but we had "We have to ask EA" as an answer to this question some years ago 😁

Hey!
Barry doesn't even work in a studio that develops GRID and so on. The Birmingham guys have almost exclusively worked on F1 games (+ F1 spinoffs) since they were acquired by Codemasters.
Split screen was said to be in works for GRID ages ago, though I don't know if this will come out as GRID 2019 would then be the first EGO 3 game to have split screen as an option 😕
-
GRID 2019 is running on the same engine (EGO 3) as the following games:
- F1 2015-
- DiRT 4
- DiRT Rally 2.0
Though being on the same engine doesn't mean anything in the games is similiar, as what people usually see as the engine may be only developed for a single game/game series.
F1 games are also developed by the Birmingham guys whose games are at times quite different from the Southam games in terms of features.

Lobby is up! Look for the host BarryBL 🙂

Currently updating F1 2019 and GRID 2019 to the newest versions. You can probably find me from public lobbies in either of those games before Barry gets on 🙂

Big question i have is what happens after Season 3... is that it, does the game get abandoned or will there be continued DLC, development and support so we get the game #NearlyAsGood
It all depends on finances. DR2.0 at least has gotten 2 more seasons + 1 free DLC for people who have bought at least one season.

Though just as a note, the idea of GRID 2019 was only to be inspired by GRID-GRID: Autosport trilogy

Let PenaltiesOn =0
Let LapCount =0
If FinishLineCross =1 AND Car=LeadCar

It can't be as easy as that surely @1512marcel?
😎
PS CrapCode is only an example please do not use in a real world application. I shall not be liable for any subsequent armeggedon like behavior resulting from use of this CrapCode.
Forgive me I wish I'd never started this but I did so there.
I haven't really understood what I should get from this "code example"... 😁

Though it's still minor, even if it was the only good thing in the game 🙂 Every game has graphical bugs as small as these, such as rF2 had heat haze broken for ages which meant that you had to go and disable it completely if you didnt want to look at a horrible circular thing.
It's great that you worry for the game, but I think there are significantly more important issues than this, though that is obviously only my opinion
E: And no, it doesnt mean you're not allowed to speak about it. It's just weird that this has somehow caused people say this is somehow insane 😁 Also I can't remove that grin...
-
I think some of you are blowing this completely out of propotion... Using the words "insane" and "disgusting" to a minor graphical bug seems a bit weird... Especially as next to no one cares about the major black hole issues that are seen in F1 games for example :3

Take a look at the DiRT Rally 2.0 Technical Assistance subforum, here's a direct link to it 🙂 https://forums.codemasters.com/forum/22-dirt-rally-20-technical-assistance/
-
This is at least third thread in which this is talked about!
Like with all other games, things may get changed at some point by accident, or it was accidentally reverted into an older build. Chris has said it's not intentional though, because why would it be? 🙂
Also for some reason the GRID README is on the "Older DiRT Games" forum.
-
I believe PCARS2 somehow modifies the Windows registry, but I was unable to find the thread about what those registry keys were... I don't know how good of a job the installer does in terms of modified registry keys 😕

I'm afraid you'll have to ask Codies about that 🙂 I forgot that people cannot see my signature on mobile.
Most likely they're doing small adjustments between builds at least.
-
Let's behave now 😛
You'd probably get the most accurate and quickest reply from custservice@codemasters.com as they tend to be good with this kind of stuff. E: Just realised you had already sent a message there... so I guess I agree with what they've said 😛
I don't know how PS4 stores data and so on, so I can't really answer this... Sorry 😔

Well I'd say it's a bug if we consider a bug something that was not meant to happen from the developer's perspective.
I'd say most likely some change has had an unnoticed effect on it... or the current version of it is from a different build, as builds are always evolving and sometimes it's hard to keep track of them 🙂

Seems like Barry won't be around this Friday... If there is enough interest, I can be the one to host the lobby this week as it'd still be nice to race with other forum members 🙂
Also here is the link for the Group Chat Barry talked about earlier: https://s.team/chat/OdGIqsXZ
