True, if I were to draw a venn-diagram/map of the British Isles my ‘Great Britain’ and ‘United Kingdom’ loops would bypass IoM which would have it’s own ‘Crown Dependancy’ loop drawn around it 😌
-
I like how @PJTierney chimes in on the Britain-Ireland-British Isles argument but avoids answering the questions about more stages from said regions appearing in the game 🤪
-
Actually it is. British Isles refers to the islands of Britain, Ireland and anything else in between. The distinction is that the nations within those islands is Republic of Ireland and United Kingdom. Great Britain refers only to the countries of England, Scotland and Wales.

If I remember correctly the stages names in CMR2.0 sounded North-of-England-ish. Hang on, is this a clue you’re adding something else in UK outside of Wales?????? It’s either gonna be Ulster, Yorkshire, Kielder, Grizedale, Scottish Borders or further north in the Trossachs area. Before we start OVER-speculating @PJTierney‘s comment was in reply to a comment about ‘UK’, so not including any rallies elsewhere in the British Isles (Rep. of Ireland or Isle of Man) 😉
-
We want it all; cars, locations, new modes and features. But we’re only speculating on the clues we have to work with 😉
-
Ah yes, I forgot we had the Mk7 and not the Mk8 Fiesta in the R2 category... That would go nicely with the new Peugeot 208 Rally4
-
@PJTierney any plans to add the Ford/M-Sport Fiesta R5 MkII to DiRT Rally 2.0?
-
That’s why I suggested the car appears in TWO categories, no need to remove it from the Group A leaderboards that way 😉
-
I’m hoping for a new class: ‘late ‘90s 4WD’ maybe? That Impreza, plus the Evo VI (or a new to DR2.0 model, Evo V) placed in a second category alongside being in group A, Cordoba WRC and Escort WRC or ‘99 Focus WRC. Legacy could go with the rest of the group A stuff but really as they were all around in ‘93 (except the Evo) can’t we have their performance somewhat equalised by weight, wheel width and restrictor size all being set to 1993 rules? Either that or ANOTHER new class for the Lagacy, joined by Sierra Cosworth 4x4, Lancia Delta HF 4WD and Golf Rallye (the one with oblong headlights and the supercharged engine). 😜
-
It’s the audio for the Golf IV isn’t it? I’m sure I read that on this forum, might even be this thread 😅
-
That’s gonna be an even longer trek back to Hawke’s Bay from Whaanga Coast 😂
-
The 22B Impreza was a road car only. That name did not feature on the WRC machine from 1997-2000. We all know what car you mean, I’m just being a pedantic little tw*t 🙂

Thanks, I was clearly being a copy-and-paste noob 😅 -

Are you sure that web address is correct? I can’t find anything from that... -
You waited until now to see what was on offer? They lay it all out for you months in advance. This is a surprise only to you.
-
Rights for what though? They’re public roads
-
Where in Ireland though? My vote has to go to Moll’s Gap, what better rally stage is there in Ireland?

Can we have some logic behind the career mode events calendar?
Jack4688 posted a topic in DiRT Rally Series Suggestions
So I’m doing a career championship in Rally and it starts off in NZ - it’s mostly sunny and the roads are sandy coloured so it has to be sometime between Sep-April. Being round 1 lets say it’s March-April. Round 2 is Argentina, also in the southern hemisphere but the season isn’t that clearly defined - could be anything other than a winter rally. Lets say round 2 is April-May. Round 3 is Wales. It can be sunny and dry, or wet and almost wintery if you consider the ‘sunset’ time of day kinda looks like the low sun of winter. But in this instance it was mainly sunny and dry plus a few stages with rainfall. Could be any time between May-June, maybe later but we wouldn’t want such a big gap between rounds 2 and 3 do we? Then comes round 4, probably middle of the summer. And where is round 4 of this championship? Sweden. Of course, it’s an unusually snowy August in Värmland this year. No. OK maybe this is a ‘winter season’ so it runs from September to about April. So it went: NZ-Sep; Arg-Oct; Wales-Oct (would have been too sunny to be Nov); Sweden-Nov/Dec/Jan maybe??? What’s round 5? Finland. Brilliant. Even further north and the snow has disappeared. Until we get Project Cars 2 style variable weather and seasons (🤞🏻) can we get each of the locations semi-fixed in terms of a time of year based on their current weather conditions, for the sake of realism? This is by no means perfect but here’s a suggestion: Monte Carlo: Nov-March Sweden: Nov-April Spain: Oct-April NZ: Sep-April Argentina: Oct-May New England: Sep-Nov Germany: April-Oct Wales: March-Nov Australia: Sep-March Poland: March-Sep Finland: May-Sep Greece: any time of year -
Why not both? Both plus Moll’s Gap

Yes. Where am I supposed to be looking? Tell us!

Because he is a moron and typical of this day and age expects everything he wants to be free and that everyone else’s world view should align with his. Also presumably Codemasters should have guessed by now what it is he wants for free, and didn’t they know he uses cockpit cam why should he be forced to pay for new liveries?
-
Sure your opinion is of course valid, what I meant was what clues are there that make it obviously 2020 RX season? Most of what people have been saying is pure conjecture, the only clues we’ve been going on really have been the blue and gold of 555 and what sounds like a Subaru flat-four with unequal length exhaust manifolds i.e. a Group A Subaru... Most probably there will be some new RX content as the game still serves as the official World RX game, but what other clues are there?
-
Please qualify this statement ‘It seems pretty obvious’. To the rest of us the colour scheme and engine note of the Something is coming... video do not point towards Word RX
-
I suspect for those people buying a computer game isn’t near the top of their priorities. They are free to not buy a codemasters game or any other goods or services and leave enough money to pay their mortgage each month. That’s how adult life works. Codemasters employees meanwhile have lives to pay for like the rest of us.

I’ve been saying this for a while now too. When Sweet Lamb or Baumholder loads up the number of potential stages in there looks so tantalising! Another point I feel I have to make now before this thread goes too far is this: Rallying is categorically NOT about not knowing where the stage goes as is oft claimed on this forum and reddit etc. when people talk on the subject of Your Stage. Rally drivers do not just turn up at full speed having never driven a stage unless it is their very first rally. The reason we have iconic stages like Col de Turini and Ouninpohja etc. in this game is because they are used year on year and the most experienced drivers get to know them and know how to get the beat out of the stage. Consider this and you can recalibrate your expectations of what Your Stage should be, as well as tempering our expectations that it will fall in a realistic spot on the spectrum of: 1to1 Stage_________________Infinitely generated stage
