No Online Championship on F1 2019

Hi there, I've moved this to the F1 Games General Discussion forum so that it's in the right place. Unranked game mode doesn’t save progress. Last year we had Saved Online Championship where progress could be saved in a multiplayer session. In F1 2019 you can set up a League to do this instead. Hope that helps!
  3. Hi there! If you're on PC, could you please try validating your game and making sure you remove any mods? Validating F1 2019 downloaded correctly Open Steam and go to the Library tab Right click on F1 2019 and select Properties Go to the Local Files tab and click Verify Integrity Of Game Files If you're on a console, could you please try uninstalling and reinstalling? Let us know if that helps!
  4. Thanks for the response! Sorry, I forgot you were on PS4! So, possibly a strange question, are you connecting via a dev account at all?
  5. Hi @oogiee, thanks for your patience while I had this investigated. Could you try removing the < and > from your Steam name for me for the moment, please? I believe the team is looking at a fix for this and I'll update you when I know more. Many thanks!
  6. Hi there and thanks for posting! I've moved this over into our Technical Assistance Forum. In future, please remember to post all bug reports there. I've also forwarded this report to the team for you. Many thanks!
  7. Force Feedback and Steering Wheel setup for PC’s If you have a steering wheel, the following options are available in the F1 2019 controller setup screen. Dead Zone This setting can be used to create a dead area around the centre of the wheel. If you feel the steering is too twitchy, increase this setting to increase the size of the dead zone. Note that a higher Linearity value (see below) may give a more desirable effect than increasing the dead zone, so consider trying that before increasing the dead zone. Saturation This alters the amount that you have to turn the wheel to make the car turn. Increase this if you feel the steering is too sensitive. Reduce this if you feel that you have to move the wheel too much to get around the corners. Linearity This dampens the information received from the inputs made upon the wheel and what you see in-game. Increase this if you are finding steering too responsive. Decrease this if you feel the steering is too sloppy. As well as the above settings, the following force feedback wheel options are available. Feedback Strength The overall strength of force feedback. Caution: setting this value too high may cause oscillation and an unrealistic feel to the force feedback. Wheel Weight Higher values make the force feedback feel 'tighter' - only small changes in wheel orientation are required to cause large forces. This increases the perceived strength, but removes some of the subtlety and smoothness. Environmental Feedback The amount of force feedback from crashes, rumble strips, and other environmental effects.
  8. Connection Issues There are a number of factors that can contribute to your connection status. Everything from your IP to the placement of your router. If you’re experiencing lag or connection issues, there are a few steps you can try to improve it. Check the servers are not experiencing issues If you’re unable to get into any multiplayer games, check to see if your platform or local ISP is experiencing any outages. For PlayStation For Xbox Check your account For PS4 users, check your PlayStation Plus account is active. For Xbox One users, check your Xbox Live Gold account is active. Try a Hardwired Connection Using a hardwire connection can be more reliable than a wireless. If you’ve been playing using Wi-Fi, try a wired connection instead. Move the router If you can’t use a hardwire connection, make sure that your console or PC is as close to the router as possible. Walls and large objects may interfere, as can other electronics. Advanced Use: Routers are also susceptible to Interference from other Wireless products such as Wireless Telephones etc. You can log into your Router and change the Channel ID https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/network-wifi/how-change-wi-fi-channel-3325316/ Fully shutdown and reboot your console or PC It sounds like an old IT joke, but sometimes turning it off and on again can help. For fully powering down your PS4 you can check out this official support page here. For how to restart or power cycle your Xbox One, head to their support page here. Make sure your system is fully up to date Make sure you’ve fully updated your consoles or your PC. https://support.playstation.com/s/article/PS4-System-Software-Update-Information-1?language=en_US https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-one/console/system-update-overview For your PC, try updating your drivers with the latest ones available. Restart your Router Try fully powering down your router and unplugging it. Leave it for about a minute and then plug it back in, turn it back on and try connecting to it again. For PCs – check background processes and applications Check to see if your PC is running anything unnecessary in the background that could affect its performance. Note: 3rd Party Recording software such as OBS & MSI Afterburner can cause the game to crash if not configured correctly. For games stuttering or frame stalls during races We have a comprehensive thread that you can find here to help you diagnose frame stalls.
  9. PS4 - Game Crashing/Not Loading 1: Check that the game is updated to the latest build. You can do this by pressing the Options button on the controller while the game is highlighted. 2: Try reinstalling the game If the game continues to crash or not load after this, please let us know the following things in your report. For crashing; For any crashes where the systems asks you to send a report, be sure to add a comment to the report, and let us know what you said when you contact us, so that we can easily find it Were there any report codes when it crashed? Where is the game crashing? For example, when loading onto a specific track or when the podium cut scene plays How many times has the crash happened? Can you repeat it? Does it crash in the same place each time? Does the crash only happen in one mode? Does the crash only happen on one track? For not loading; At what point does the game fail to load? Has it happened once or can you repeat it? If it’s a particular track, can you try loading the track in a different game mode? Please send your report to community(AT)codemasters.com (replacing the (AT) with an @ ) Xbox One - Game Crashing/Not Loading 1: Try reinstalling the game If the game continues to crash or not load after this, please let us know the following things in your report. 10. Basic Trouble Shooting Hi there, You’ll find a number of helpful suggestions to try to troubleshoot some basic issues below. Please be sure to attempt the items in this thread first before anything else. PC - Game Crashing/Not Loading 1: Try validating your game files. Open Steam and go to the Library tab. Right click on F1 2019 and select Properties. Go to the Local Files tab and click verify integrity of game files. 2: Make sure your drivers are all up to date Check to see if your video card, sound card, motherboard and processor are all up to date. If you are overclocking, try running the game without overclocking to see if that improves it. 3: Make sure your PC is or is above the minimum specs. The minimum specifications for F1 2019 are as follows; Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system OS: 64 bit Versions of Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 Processor: Intel i3 2130 / AMD FX4300 Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: Nvidia GTX640 / HD7750 DirectX: Version 11 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 80 GB available space Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Soundcard Additional Notes: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system 4: Try limiting the FPS – In game go to Game Options -> Settings -> Graphics Options -> Video Mode. 5: Try running the game at a lower graphics setting - Game Options -> Settings -> Graphics Options -> Video Mode or Game Options -> Settings -> Graphics Options -> Advanced Setup. 6: If you changed your graphics settings and then the game won’t launch. This may have happened if you’ve enabled an option not supported by your graphics card, or set the resolution beyond what can be handled by your monitor. F1 2019 includes a 'Safe Mode' to help under such circumstances, this can be run by launching the game using the '-safemode' parameter. Safe Mode will simply boot the game using the lowest possible resolution and graphics settings. Open Steam and find F1 2019 in your library. Now right click the game and choose Properties. Next under the General tab select 'SET LAUNCH OPTIONS' and in the space provided enter -safemode. Now Click 'OK' and then launch F1 2019 via the Play icon. After exiting the game remove the '-safemode' parameter from the Launch options to allow the game to run as normal. Alternatively, simply delete the hardware_settings_config.xml file in Documents\My Games\F1 2019\hardwaresettings and the game will generate a new one the next time it is run. If the game continues to crash or not load after this, please let us know the following things in your report. For crashing; A copy of your DXDiag and Hardware settings - In the Run/Search box type (without the Quotes ‘dxdiag’. Then after it has finished loading choose ‘Save all Information’ to save the Output to a Text File. Any crash dumps Where is the game crashing? For example, when loading onto a specific track or when the podium cut scene plays How many times has the crash happened? Can you repeat it? Does it crash in the same place each time? Does the crash only happen in one mode? Does the crash only happen on one track? For not loading; At what point does the game fail to load? Has it happened once or can you repeat it? If it’s a particular track, can you try loading the track in a different game mode? Please send your report to community(AT)codemasters.com (replacing the (AT) with an @ )

Voice overs out of order [ZX]

Thanks for the post, @Camza2011! I'm checking in with the Audio team about this.
  14. Hi all, Please note that I have merged several threads about this item together. In future, please do not open more threads on the same issue/item as it clutters up the forum and makes it harder for us to respond. You cannot change the weather in Leagues for F1 2019. As you know the League system is new this year and we’re going to be looking at how you all react to and use the Leagues in ’19, and will use all your feedback to direct future development efforts. I have passed this thread back to the Dev team as well so they are aware of it. Thanks,
  15. Hi there and thanks for posting, I’m going to check out the error code, in the mean time though, can you let me know what platform you’re on, please?

    F1 2019 UDP Specification

FAQS How do I enable the UDP Telemetry Output? In F1 2019, UDP telemetry output is controlled via the in-game menus. To enable this, enter the options menu from the main menu (triangle / Y), then enter the settings menu - the UDP option will be at the bottom of the list. From there you will be able to enable / disable the UDP output, configure the IP address and port for the receiving application, toggle broadcast mode and set the send rate. Broadcast mode transmits the data across the network subnet to allow multiple devices on the same subnet to be able to receive this information. When using broadcast mode it is not necessary to set a target IP address, just a target port for applications to listen on. Advanced PC Users: You can additionally edit the game’s configuration XML file to configure UDP output. The file is located here (after an initial boot of the game): ...\Documents\My Games\<game_folder>\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml You should see the tag: <motion> ... <udp enabled="false" broadcast=”false” ip="127.0.0.1" port="20777" sendRate=”20” format=”2019” yourTelemetry=”restricted” /> ... </motion> Here you can set the values manually. Note that any changes made within the game when it is running will overwrite any changes made manually. Note the enabled flag is now a state. What has changed since last year? F1 2019 sees the following changes to the UDP specification: Updated driver list and included F2 drivers Added terrain tyre contact type to motion packet Removed exhaust damage Added game version to packet header Renamed num cars to num active cars Increased accuracy of steering, brakes and accelerator values Added new event types Added visual tyre compound to deal with new F1 tyres Added fuel remaining in laps – value on MFD Added restrictions to sensitive data via “Your Telemetry” setting What is the order of the wheel arrays? All wheel arrays are in the following order: 0 – Rear Left (RL) 1 – Rear Right (RR) 2 – Front Left (FL) 3 – Front Right (FR) Do the vehicle indices change? During a session, each car is assigned a vehicle index. This will not change throughout the session and all the arrays that are sent use this vehicle index to dereference the correct piece of data. What encoding format is used? All values are encoded using Little Endian format. Are the data structures packed? Yes, all data is packed, there is no padding used. Will there always be 20 cars in the data structures? Most structures contain 20 cars – this is the maximum that can be in a race in the game. There is a data item called m_numActiveCars in the participants packet which tells you how many cars are active in the race. However, you should check the individual result status of each car in the lap data to see if that car is actively providing data. If it is not “Invalid” or “Inactive” then the corresponding vehicle index has valid data. How often are updated packets sent? For the packets which get updated at “Rate as specified in the menus” you can be guaranteed that on the frame that these get sent they will all get sent together and will never be separated across frames. This of course relies on the reliability of your network as to whether they are received correctly as everything is sent via UDP. Other packets that get sent at specific rates can arrive on any frame. If you are connected to the game when it starts transmitting the first frame will contain the following information to help initialise data structures on the receiving application: Packets sent on Frame 1: (All packets sent on this frame have “Session timestamp” 0.000) Session Participants Car Setups Lap Data Motion Data Car Telemetry Car Status As an example, assuming that you are running at 60Hz with 60Hz update rate selected in the menus then you would expect to see the following packets and timestamps: Packets sent on Frame 2: (All packets sent on this frame have “Session timestamp” 0.016) Lap Data Motion Data Car Telemetry Car Status … Packets sent on Frame 31: (All packets sent on this frame have “Session timestamp” 0.5) Session (since 2 updates per second) Car Setups (since 2 updates per second) Lap Data Motion Data Car Telemetry Car Status Will my old app still work with F1 2019? F1 2019 uses a new format for the UDP data. However, earlier formats of the data are still supported so that most older apps implemented using the previous data formats should work with little or no change from the developer. To use the old formats, please enter the UDP options menu and set “UDP Format” to either “F1 2018” or “legacy” (for F1 2017 and earlier). Specifications for the legacy format can be seen here: http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/53139/f1-2017-d-box-and-udp-output-specification/p1 Specifications for the F1 2018 format can be seen here: How do I enable D-BOX output? D-BOX output is currently supported on the PC platform. In F1 2019, the D-BOX activation can be controlled via the menus. Navigate to Game Options->Settings->UDP Telemetry Settings->D-BOX to activate this on your system. Advanced PC Users: It is possible to control D-BOX by editing the games’ configuration XML file. The file is located here (after an initial boot of the game): ...\Documents\My Games\<game_folder>\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml You should see the tag: <motion> <dbox enabled="false" /> ... </motion> Set the “enabled” value to “true” to allow the game to output to your D-BOX motion platform. Note that any changes made within the game when it is running will overwrite any changes made manually. How can I disable in-game support for LED device? The F1 game has native support for some of the basic features supported by some external LED devices, such as the Leo Bodnar SLI Pro and the Fanatec steering wheels. To avoid conflicts between Codemasters’ implementation and any third-party device managers on the PC platform it may be necessary to disable the native support. This is done using the following led_display flags in the hardware_settings_config.xml. The file is located here (after an initial boot of the game): ...\Documents\My Games\<game_folder>\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml The flags to enabled/disable LED output are: <led_display fanatecNativeSupport="true" sliProNativeSupport="true" /> The sliProNativeSupport flag controls the output to SLI Pro devices. The fanatecNativeSupport flag controls the output to Fanatec (and some related) steering wheel LEDs. Set the values for any of these to “false” to disable them and avoid conflicts with your own device manager. Please note there is an additional flag to manually control the LED brightness on the SLI Pro: <led_display sliProForceBrightness="127" /> This option (using value in the range 0-255) will be ignored when setting the sliProNativeSupport flag to “false”. Also note it is now possible to edit these values on the fly via the Game Options->Settings->UDP Telemetry Settings menu. Can I configure the UDP output using an XML File? PC users can edit the game’s configuration XML file to configure UDP output. The file is located here (after an initial boot of the game): ...\Documents\My Games\<game_folder>\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml You should see the tag: <motion> ... <udp enabled="false" broadcast=”false” ip="127.0.0.1" port="20777" sendRate=”20” format=”2019” /> ... </motion> Here you can set the values manually. Note that any changes made within the game when it is running will overwrite any changes made manually.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Hi all, Please note I have removed some off topic and questionable posts. Please be civil to one another. Thanks,
  19. Hi all, The F1 games use peer-to-peer, and doesn’t use servers for its multiplayer. It looks as though the issue experienced last night might have been with the PlayStation Network. I would suggest fully shutting down and restarting your console and restarting your router if you’re still having connection issues to see if that helps.
  20. Hi @FOneFanatic Could you pop a pic up to show me what you’re seeing as your main forum page, please? I’d like to make sure you’re not seeing something strange. Can you also let me know what device your using and what web browser you’re using to view the forums? Here’s a direct link to the F1 General forums in the meantime: https://forums.codemasters.com/forum/11-general-discussion/
