If you only play online, then play iracing. Its a dedicated online racing sim. The handling is better, different cars and will improve your racing hand over fist.... I used iracing for 3 months before my first real life race in an mx5 at brands hatch. I got two top 10 finishes thanks to practice. And in the long run would probably work out cheaper than buying F1 every year.

I agree with you. TBF, its not completely trash. The handling is much better than last years game. Im loving My Team. But the bugs are still there, I'm still not a fan of the 'Arcade/Lowest common denominator' - things like auto driving on pit in/pit out/driving to grid. Also the 'cut straight to fast lap' instead of driving out for practice/qualie. Give me a menu option to turn that **** off! Also, Give me telemetry. Its in the game, but have to use an external program to view it - which i guess isnt the end of the world. But give me the ride height! How can i set the ride height without knowing how often im bottoming out! But CM is a business. And has been making F1 games for 10 years or so. It wouldnt be doing it if it was losing money....

That was already answered - its a licencing issue, along with other drivers (Alonso etc)

Ah, poor youngsters..... This has been happening in gaming for decades..... EA started it with FIFA, Madden NFL etc. The new game was exactly the same as the previous year, with a roster update. Maybe a slight graphics update. These companies make the most money from reusing the previous games code and tweaking it. Minimal effort, maximum profit. The only way to stop this from happening is for EVERYONE from buying the new game. And that, no matter how hard you try, is not going to happen. Call of Duty is another example (not that ive played it), but the amount of people that pre-order it for £60/£80/£100 and then complain that its exactly the same as the old version. Or a short single player. Or whatever. Gone are the days people wait for reviews. But then, how many reviewers will slate the latest release of a high profile game these days?

Depends on the driver. Some drivers will have more technical knowledge than others. But at a guess, the driver describes how the car feels during various corners, and the engineers make the adjustments. I can imagine the driver asking for more rear wing, but the team know that that would drop the top speed. The team would have a better adjustment (eg roll bars/tyre pressures etc) that would sort the drivers issue without compromising the top speed. Also, there could be occasions where the driver thinks theres a setup issue, but actually they are overdriving the car

Erm, i'd like to assume youre joking. If youre not, is this the first Codemasters game youve played? The same bugs have been present year on year. And of course CM would rather have more people buy a brand new copy of a full price game than an older game with DLC. No previous F1 game has been fixed before the new one was released.

The Ferrari engine got a nerf, so thats probably effecting you. Other standard answers: Engine modes, ERS/Overtake, Front/Rear wing settings, ride height settings, tyre pressures.

Thats by design. There are other posts that explain it

Its in settings > assists
-
Do you have steering assist on? if so, you need to say 'box this lap'. Else turn off steering assist

Brake Bias Set to 50% when using G29 buttons

FYI this is still happening in v1.12 and can confirm it happens in race mode as well -
Yes, the stats change in career/myteam. Im assuming its the base stats that have been updated, so that might not effect the current stats depending on how far into the career you are
-
Each mode has its own saves. And you can have multiple saves on each mode - well, myteam and career at least. not tried the other modes. Just go over to 'solo' and you'll see what i mean

Ha, yeah sorry 😛 Didnt have my morning tea. Now get off my lawn, ya scallywag 😄
-
yeah, i know what it means... Im just questioning it, as i probably have t-shirts older than you
-
Its not a reflection. Mercedes put a coloured stripe on the halo (at the request of David croft) so you can tell which car it is when viewing the t-cam
-
Did you finish qualifying out on track? Cos if the other cars are out on a lap when the time hits zero, they can finish their lap. I’m guessing this is what happened?
-
It was part of the season 1 podium pass rewards. So unless it comes up in the shop, dont think you can get it

Im going to assume because of an F1 rule change so only one engine map can be used during Quali/Race. So whatever engine mode was used in qualie, that is what has to be used in the race. But i dont think it would effect the ERS 'overtake' button? I wouldnt say its as simple as removing it from the game. F1 cars have (had) up to 11/12 different engine maps. The current F1 game has 3.... Then add into the programming required to set the engine mode from Qualie to the race. And add in an option to keep the engine modes as they are now. I dont even want to think about how CM would balance the engines. What would they set the engine rates to? As much as I love the realism, I dont think it would be a great move for the game. I dread the much called for 'performance patch', so the Merc can run away into the distance. As much as i'd love to see the Ferrari nerfed, it wouldnt make for an entertaining game.

You can’t update the firmware on a g29/g920. drivers/g hub etc, yes. But not firmware
-
i think they might show up whether youve purchased it or not. i think thats the case on the ps4 anyway. Have you checked your items to see if the schumi helmets/liveries etc are available and not locked?
-
It was confirmed by Sony that PS4 compatible hardware would work on the PS5

A quick Google returns the answer: Yes....

Jeff: you’re running low on fuel. Box within 2 laps. me: I’m sitting in the garage... jeff: remember, if you don’t use the pit assist you’ll need to be careful when entering the pits. me: yes Jeff. This is my 3rd season. jeff (on warm up lap): no rain forecast. me: I know. Radar is clear, and there’s a bright blue sky with zero clouds. im sure there’s others but can’t think right now
