    Formation lap on or off?

I think if you skip the formation lap when you are in the race, it will give you cold tyres. In My Team, I have the formation lap on, and everytime I start the race, my tyre temperatures are below 65 degrees. Now, skip the formation lap, and at the start, you will probably be swarmed by the ai. Safety cars can literally drop your tyre temperatures to less than 80 degrees, which is why I normally stay a bit far from the car ahead to keep tyre temperatures at least around 80 degrees. I just had a My Team race in Austria, and it was extremely hard to keep up tyre temperatures on the hard tyre during a safety car period of 2 laps. The fact that the limiter is active, as it can ruin the restart makes it even more important to have tyre temperatures in the green...

After 1.07 patch the SAFETY CAR is gone

I think Safety car does not appear for 25%. Check the options and see if it is turned on.

    2nd Driver

He/She can, but they must have extra money. When negotiating with your driver, you will have to pick the low risk option, as that option will be a higher salary than their demand. Since you offered a low risk option with a salary higher than their demand, they will have extra money, and they can spend that money on perks.

    Power Unit Component Overwear

WTH? This is worrying for me, as I am at Austria and I have 11 durability upgrades, and I am on my 2nd CE, as I decided to use the 2nd one in spite of the first one being only at 45% by Spain, as a worn CE can increase wear to other components. So far, the 2nd CE has been fine and it’s at 18% after 5 races, which means that it has been wearing at around 3-4% every race. Ever since I took the 2nd CE in Spain, I have been using the 1st CE at 45% wear during practice sessions and swapping it for the 2nd CE in qualifying and in the race. So far, the only problems I have are with the Turbo Charger, since I do a lot of running in practice. My first Turbo Charger reached 91% before the game did not allow me to use it anymore, and that was just until China... Other than that, the Energy Store is another component that has worn down quickly. But that was because I did not know how to preserve its life. Now, my 2nd Energy Store is at 20% after 6 races, which looks fine to me. I plan to take an extra CE, TC and ES at SPA to ensure that I finish the season with decent performance. Especially, that I am competing with Mclaren, Renault, Alpha Tauri and sometimes Racing Point. It is extremely tight for the points in my My Team. I have been extremely lucky to benefit from the ai slip ups, and that forced me to change the way I would handle the season. Rule of thumb: Never risk using a 45% + CE with new components on your car. I do 50% races, full qualfiying and do all practice programs. I normally run all three tyre compounds in the race strategy program to get accurate data for the race.

    Slow

I am a controller player on the Ps4 and I race on 105% ai with no assists and on cockpit camera. Recommend that you try calibrating the controller in the controls settings. We could use some info about being slow in order to help. Struggling in the rain? Struggling in qualifying/race? Struggling with straightline speed or tyre wear?

    2nd Driver

Does anyone notice the racecraft difference? I feel that all the ai drivers behave the same in terms of aggression. I seem to only notice the pace difference. But racecraft? Can anyone give some noticeable differences? I mean I have watched youtubers, and on some tracks the ai get stuck behind traffic. Racecraft is defined as how efficient the driver can overtake, and if that is just based on that definition, then I do not see any differences among the ai. As such, I feel racecraft is useless unless you have good pace.

    2nd Driver

Does anyone know how the simulator facility works in terms of improving the 2nd driver’s pace? If I buy spec one, how much does it improve the 2nd driver’s pace, and how often does it boost his/her stats? I’d like to give Mick Schumacher a nice boost after the team literally screwed him over in France. Man, do I wish we could also control the race strategy of our teammate..

Most Races Play Out The Same

I enjoy this. It has been fun to battle with the midfield ai. Battles into the hairpin at Vietnam, side by side through the banking corners of Zandvoort and battles into the tight left turn corner just before the end of the second sector at Baku. I must say that I had a lot of action up until Baku. Canada was quite a boring race after my first pit stop in spite of some light rain coming at the end that had no effect on the race. I went around the outside side by side with Perez in the left banked hairpin corner in Zandvoort, and it was fun. I also went side by side with Stroll on the final banked corner of Zandvoort. By the way, never use the hard tyres in Zandvoort. You can go Soft- Medium or Medium- Soft and you still have decent pace at the end of the stints. You do need good straightline speed and racecraft to keep scoring points, as most of the cars have better cornering speed. I have been focusing on my exits into drs zones and using the overtake button to keep ahead of the faster cars. I find one stops to be OP in this game at times. In Bahrain, France and Azerbaijan so far are the most noticeable ones, and I am just in France. You can make a one stop from P16 and finish in the points if the faster cars make any slip ups and if you have decent pace.

Most Races Play Out The Same

I play at 105% difficulty and do 50% races on My Team. Most of the time, I would qualify in P10-14 depending on the track. In Spain, I don’t know what happened, but the car just did not switch on, and I had a horrible qualifying, finishing P18. In the race, I finished P9 thanks to 2 safety cars that helped me with the strategy. I am at France in my first season, and it is almost the same result and tactic: Gain positions at the start and see if you can keep the faster cars like Mclaren, Racing Point and Renault behind, or attack them by going on a different strategy. For example, in Canada, I qualified P12, and I started on the Medium tyre, whilst Ricciardo, Perez and Stroll started ahead of me as they went into Q3. I jumped 2 cars on the opening lap, and I found myself in P9 as Albon had a grid penalty and started way back. The trio of Perez, Stroll and Ricciardo had high tyre wear during the first stint, and I managed to overtake Ricciardo. However, after the pit stops, I could not keep up with Ricciardo, Perez and Stroll. Leclerc then has an engine blow up and I was promoted to P8. My results are in the picture, and I have to be honest that I have been lucky to accumulate many points due to my rivals making mistakes. I don’t expect to keep P7, as I will stop developing the car by the Singapore Gp and I need to take an additional Energy Store, Control Electronics and Turbo Charger to ensure that I finish the season in good shape. It depends on the track. In the image, I finished P6 in Baku, Zandvoort and Vietnam, which are tracks that I love and excel. In Monaco, I was running P9 before the weather messed me up, and I made the wrong call to pit for inters when in fact the track was dry, and this was all the way to the end of the race LOL. I think in Monaco, a P9 was possible, but damn I should not have pitted for inters...

Improving your car in My Team (share your tips)

Yea, I want to focus on durability first, as I do 50% races and I do a lot of running in the practice sessions for the programs. I can be happy that I always complete the programs because I need that for my sponsor goal of XXY. My durability is at spec 2 already. I do plan on stopping car development by the Singapore Gp to prepare for any incoming cheese regulation change. Mick Schumacher is at least beating the Haas drivers and the Williams drivers in spite of us being the 2nd to bottom weakest team in car performance. So I can’t complain haha. I will ignore the powertrain department and focus on durability, aero and chassis. I have not considered improving the marketing department yet. I am considering personnel so Schumacher can be better since I am always getting into Q2, except for Spain where I had a horrible session. I read the marketing department acclaim facility did not appear to help in terms of levelling up the acclaim. Any results?

Improving your car in My Team (share your tips)

Yes, cause I am at France in my first season in my team, and I wanted to buy a facility upgrade for the aero, and then I noticed that all of my departments had at least “Spec 1 resource point generation”. My Durability, which was the department I complemented on the start of the game, went from “Resource Point Generation 1” to “Resource Point Generation 2”. I was like WHOAH! Thanks guys, that is a huge boost for us.

Improving your car in My Team (share your tips)

Speaking of improving facilities, I got randomly a spec 1 resource point generation for all departments for free. I don’t know how did I get the improvements, but it must have come from an answer to an interview question. Anyone know or had this random improvement?
  13. I can see an attempt to exploit these rules by grey areas. Mercedes have already outsmarted the FIA with DAS, and these rules will force teams to find new ways to put their engine modes into the cars.
  14. So basically, the FIA is planning to ban these modes because of the complexity of the power unit. https://www.racefans.net/2020/08/13/why-the-fia-told-teams-it-will-ban-quali-modes-after-this-weekends-race/ This is absolutely maximum incompetence from the FIA. This could get them into some serious trouble.

Who said the AI don't make mistakes

In Baku, I had Bottas and Albon having a spin in the final corner S section and destroying their car to the point that a vsc and a safety car was called out. I race on 105 difficulty and with simulation damage. Bottas was running slightly ahead of me when that happened, and I almost hit him.

    Weight re-distribution

I think it’s time to just focus on rear downforce upgrades and on chassis weight upgrades if you want your car to be more responsive and stable. With the weight upgrades on the chassis, it looks like ignoring the front aero downforce upgrades could be a bargain in terms of upgrading because with the chassis weight upgrades, the will make your car better in corners while the rear downforce upgrades will keep the car stable. This way you can leave the front downforce upgrades for last.
  17. Krisperfectline

    Weight re-distribution

I am also a bit confused among the weight reduction, redistribution and aero downforce upgrades. If I understand this correctly then: - Weight reduction/redistribution upgrades allow the car to respond better to change directions and allow better balance under or on acceleration. - Aero downforce upgrades improve grip. As such, cornering speeds. Therefore these could mean the following: -Having lots of weight reduction/redistribution upgrades but not many aero downforce upgrades, make the car more responsive, but limit the car’s speed in the corners? - Having many aero downforce upgrades with not many weight reduction/redistribution upgrades will enable the car to carry more speed into corners with a lack of responsiveness? It appears that Chassis upgrades could also mean aero upgrades as well. In taking this, this means that weight distribution is an aero upgrade, as lowering the center of gravity gives more downforce. Does this make sense?

    AI Difficulty

I think Silverstone is the best ai circuit after watching youtubers. I am yet to race or drive that track in this game, but I think we are up for it at that race. It’s going to be a challenge driving flat out laps at Silverstone consistently... I also race with the same difficulty on every track, 105%. I think it depends on track and the player. I struggled to keep up with the ai on Spain, but on Baku, I was absolutely flying. On Spain, when I raced as Bottas, I was on average 0.1-0.3 slower than Hamilton, whilst at Baku on the same difficulty, I was 0.3-1.0 faster than Hamilton at times, and this was when we were running the exact same tyres and in clean air with the exact same tyre life. This is all at 105% ai.

    Practice programs time/level issues

I have only had an issue with the qualifying program in Monaco. I normally have no problems even with old power units to perfect all the programs. However on Monaco, the qualifying program asks me to match the Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari pace, which I found ridiculous. All the other programs in Monaco, I found them alright. I managed to pass it though, but it required me to use fresher power unit components.

    Weather too imprecise

I just had a 50% My Team race in Monaco where the last square in the weather forecast showed light rain and everything else was dry. I started P14 and I decided to start on the hard tyres to anticipate the rain. When I started the formation lap, Jeff told me light rain was expected in 5 minutes. Once I heard that, I knew that I was screwed. The rain came on lap 6-8, but it was not enough to make the track wet, and we were still lapping fine on dry tyres. However, by lap 17 was where we started to feel a loss of grip. It was not still enough to justify a change into intermediate tyres. The ai pitted and I stayed out, leaving me in P6. Until the end, the rain did not get more intense, and by lap 34 I decided to pit for intermediate tyres because I was already leading a train of cars. I dropped to P19, and the rain never intensified. Dry tyres were the fastest tyre the entire race. If you will give us a race where rain is light throughout the race, then add another weather indicator for this. At least give us a hint that it will be very light rain that has almost no effect on the track. However, I should have stuck with the dry tyres in this race.

    Practice programs time/level issues

I think the qualifying practice program in Monaco needs to be looked at. This is just at season one in my team. The program asks me to do a 1:11:4 on 105% difficulty. Now, times in the low to mid 1:11’s are being done by Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari. So they expect me on season one to do times that are matching the front runners? My car has normally been 1-2 seconds off their pace. 1:11.4 is just a big ask and a crazy time for my team.

    2nd Driver

If you invest in a Personnel facility. Will that facility consistently increase the respective stats of the second driver? Like if I purchase the level 1 simulator. How will that affect the second driver’s pace?

    Lazy team mate

Who is your teammate? I think it’s time to be Tiametmarduk and fire him/her. Mick Schumacher also barely gives me any resource points, and I am just on Monaco in Season 1. YOU’RE ALL FIRED

    PERFORMANCE CAR UPDATE

I am fine with that, as long as everything is close to real life. Anyway, there will be regulation changes in My team. Lower the difficulty then if you want to catch Mercedes quicker.

    CM - please add violence

How about angry answers at press conference? How about some interaction with drivers? Just like with Weber and Butler in 2019. I used to take a shot every chance I had against Butler in the press. I would always go for the showmanship answer when asked about Butler. In regards to violence, I think it would be nice if this feature was added in between the drivers or the press. Lol
