  1. First of all, you are all embarrasing yourselves in this thread. OP for not thinking through his way of communicating, and the rest of you for not answering constructive and therefore fuelling the discussion.

Second the central pivoting point of the cars in the EGO engine has been known for years and is still apparent, though it's highly improved since the first versions of DR1 and earlier titles. It is not noticeable from within the car, but is easy to see when using chase cam that the cars pivot around the center point. On gravel this is hardly noticeable since the car will slide alot, but on tarmac it is noticeable.

Third, please everyone, before you post anything, read through it and try to see it from the other side, is there anything in your wording that can be perceived as offencive, and likewise, when you read a post, please try and reread a few times, to see if the person is trying to get a message through thats just obscured by bad wording.

    Thanks

  2. Hello

Against better judgement, I just need to vent this out here:

Have the devs of this game ever diven a single meter on a snow and ice covered road with proper winter tires?

It doesn't feel like it, Monte Carlo should not be like Bambi on the ice, against contrary beliefs, theres is actually quite a lot of grip on ice and specialy snow, even on summer tires, and specially with studded winter tires. Yes it's more slippery than dry tarmac, but it is quite frippy, and you will normally get a gradual slip, much like on gravel.

And before you start, I'm from Norway, I do know how it feels on snow and ice 🙂

There, rant over, phew, good to get it ofmy chest 🙂

Brilliant game Codies, and I mean it, it's imposible to get everything perfect, but you nearly got there....

  3. I wouldnt take pCars out of the equation yet, problem is that the FFB out of the box is rubbish, and destroys the feeling. Setting up good FFB is a bit of a PITA, but totally worth it, there is a couple of good explanations on the pCars forum on how to do it.

What really speaks for pCars in my wiev is a good career mode, and a healthy online community, I've joined up with a group called RWB Racing ( http://rwb-racing.enjin.com/home ) we have a dedicated server which is populated almost every night and arrange league races on a weekly basis, good fun without too much serious competition, but very clean racing.

Good luck in your search...

SS1: Of course you should do a shakedown. Get a feel for the car, change the setup... Unfortunately there was some problem with my brain-hand-eye-coordination, because I pressed "Start the stage" immediately. Great... No rhythm, a few halfspins, bad time.

SS2: Better. Not good, but better.

SS3: With more confidence, I tried to push, resulting in a spin in a tight place. Some seconds lost. Rhythm said goodbye again.

SS4: Shortly before the end of the stage, my older daughter wanted me to check her homework. Lost concentration, spun. Being the best dad in the world, I kept a stiff upper lip.

SS6: High speed roll without significant time loss. But I drove very slowly after that. Was sure Audi75 would catch me, but he lost a lot of time in the last stage.

Entertaining ride, though the car felt much more nervous than I would have liked.

Oh yes I did, my last stage was royally messed up

  5. Ended the event and WOW did I do good! I am last, and 41 seconds down to Audi, my closest rival, but I feel it was the slickest drive in any league I've done so far. I even won the second run through Peresma Platani! I WON A STAGE YAYYYY (and I would have finished the stage before only 4 seconds down to the winner had I not flown off the side of a cliff and lost 12 seconds. Last power stage was awful, but I apparently made up some more time to Audi (or I calculated wrong earlier). All in all, a good drive. I expect to be in the points at the end.
How in Gods holy name (and all that) could I not be last after the shitty round I did, think I was off the road several time on each stage, and the last stage alone I got three resets, losing 45 sec alone.

In between all my offs, something quick must have happened

PS: FloatingGrass, not trying to put you down here, have also noted that we usually have our little competition down the scoreboard, which I enjoy very much, just didn't expect to beat you in this event.

Well, did it, with a few high speed BlackHole-Snowbank spins. Could've been far worse, i had an okay pace, would have been better to avoid the spins, but i just cant see the snowbank in daylight. Norraskoga was a whore to drive, though. Could've used a few Caution calls before some crest calls.

I have with almost 100% certainty lost my podium, damn.
Finished myself, damn I'm really not comfortable in Sweden yet, don't know if I ever will. Fun though.

Tried to go slow and steady, and managed to go slow, but not steady, stupidest thing is that most of my spins happens on a straight.

Well, fun it was anyways, reckon my place at the bottom is secured....
Yeah, i spun Norraskoga on a straight, one or two daylight stages as well on a straight. It has a very huge pull at times, the snowbank.
Yeah, know what you mean,  and in addition to that, IT seems like they have installed huge magnets in all the snowbanks

  8. Wales done.

Took it slow and safe as usual. Managed to get through the hole event quite clean, had a spin on SS3 that's all.

But seeing that I'm normally almost half a min slower than the rest of you per stage, I expect to be shuffled quite a long way down the list when you guys come along.

Well well, I'm at least first for now, also the first to finish

  9. Okay, both dailies done.

Sweet Lamb, Did okay, could have pushed a bit more, but not much, ended with 6.15, how you people manage 543 and still are not happy is beyond me, and just shows how far behind i am

Greece daily: Utter misery, managed to clip on of the roadside signs, spun, stalled the engine thre times and lost a lot of time. Okey. continue, did okay, until last turn, clipped something on the inside, car catapulted out in the wilderness, managed to point in the corect direction and get onto the road again, ended at 7 something. 50 sec behind the leader and expecting drop further.

Very interesting repair screen. May I know which mod are you using? xD

Yes you are absolutely correct, it's a very wrong picture

Fixed now, new link, however, how the hell are you able to embed pics in your posts, I'm way to old for this modern shit
The link has to end with .jpg, .png or .gif. Or any other graphical format that browsers can view.

BTW, doesn't look as bad as my damage in Finland xD
Aah, thank you Ryu, lets see if my old fart of a brain can manage to wrap itself around this piece of simple and straightforward method

I shall try to bombard you with badly taken screenshots in the coming days in order to still be qualified for further membership in this fine league

  12. Okei, where to begin? Even by my standards this was bad....

SS1, Long downwards straight full throttle, spin, and loose my right front wheel, OK lets try to limp through the stage. Got there in the end, after 8 mins of car doing more or less what ever it wants but what I want.

SS2-SS8 Okei, I got my wheel back on, but now my speedo is lighting up as a christmas tree, engine and cooling light on. Hit almost all the rocks that are placed by the road, and when I'm hitting a rock, I'm spinning out.

Placed last for now, and will probably stay there till the end

    Edit, wrong pic, fixed now

  13. The time has come to remove people from inactivity, so here's the list:
    - xavivg - complete lack of any activity
    - rampage - not participating in any of the events
    - Olly - blatant lying about not having time, while scoring 60 hours of playtime in the past week, constantly in CSGO. Unless someone wishes to give a second chance to you, permanent kick from League.
    - griever - not participating in any of the events
    - Tommie Lindberg - complete lack of any activity
    - raphwatts - lack of activity on forums and in league
    - roystoon - lack of activity on forums and in league

Warning for lack of activity (forums or in league, "guilty" knows which one). Keep being non-active/very low active and you'll be removed from the league:
    - Audi75
    - DrStrangelove
    - Turbodevin
    - enamel
    - Major Hobble

Would be nice if some could start posting on this thread more, though it's just a personal favour:
    - RacerAce27
    - JJBruce
    - Evilsmurf

This league is for actual forumers who want to compete with other forumers. If you just want to get into a league or you're not going to compete anyway, please don't apply or inform that it's that case. Makes it easier for me to manage the league.

    Hi Ryu

Accept the warning, just out of curiosity, what constitute the correct amount of activity in the forum?

I know I'm not the most active here, never have been on any of the forums I've been frequenting, it's how I am, if I don't have anything constructive to contribute with, I'm shutting up

However i really enjoy this league, and will continue to race as long as I'm allowed.

  14. Was eager to start the event, I really like the Finnish stages, and hardly ever get any punctures.

Decided to use the same strategy as Greece, slowly but steady. doesn't get the same speed as you guys get, but it gets me home in one piece.

Had the usual spins reulting in maybe 10-20 sec loss overall, and a lost my lights at the end of SS3.

Still, I'm happy, I'm at my usual 3,5 mins behind Porky, and thats where I'm supposed to be

    I've somehow finished.

What do you say about an agreement that we keep the day time realistic (Morning, midday, afternoon, and max 2-3 night)? I don't really care about the weather or difficulty - but this just seemed to be: wrong, unrealistic, boring.
Well, it wouldn't be hard if it would be all in nice weather at day :p You guys choose the theme and I'm not one to write "Hard" and actually make it easy. When I say hard, it's simply hard ;)
have to agree with Ryu on this one, we chose the event, and got what we deserved

That said, I really like it and there are plenty of time to set up events with more "normal" conditions.
