It's encrypted until release to prevent fiddling with files or playing offline. It will run decryption once the Play option is available.

What do you mean by TV-Style? TV in broadcasts uses all kinds of cameras - heli, drones, static, in-car so IMHO by saying TV-Style you want to have all of them mixed together. Updated an hour ago: https://steamdb.info/app/421020/history/

This is going to be a loooooong day waiting for midnight. Kiwi's I'm with you and keeping my fingers crossed it's not 10th for you! P.S. Those 7 guys playing ATM, have a good fun.

My eyes bleed from reading Metro.co.uk review. DiRT 4’s approach is immediately disappointing because instead of a clever blend of realism and arcade stylings the game starts with a very blunt proposition: do you want to play in ‘Simulation’ or ‘Gamer’ mode? The latter is described as only playing for fun, as if fun was a dirty word and not something realistic race games should also aspire to. Maybe some people do feel that way, but they’ve already got DiRT Rally and the attitude poisons DiRT 4’s attempts to carve its own identity. There’s some interesting management elements, where you have to balance the books, deal with advertisers, and hire and fire staff, but it’s all a bit by-the-numbers and lacking in pizazz What? It's a f***** rally game, not a Pizza Syndicate SimFarm. Can't please everyone I guess. Don't read it. Waste of time. Codemasters would’ve been much better off either making DiRT Rally 2 or ensuring DiRT 4 was a full-on arcade racer from the start. But then he goes with Pros: Pros: The Simulation handling model is great and there’s plenty of content in terms of modes and randomly-generated tracks. Gamer mode is less distinctive but very accessible. Schizophrenia?

I would also like to know is there differences and what under the hood, and do rally cars also use same Cooper tire model & info that is used in RX or something else. Wrote this on another thread also, but i'm just curious about this. Game itself will be great anyway, but to me there is just something wonderful to know how things work and why. That's why the curiosity. (Especially when people are praising RX, and you would think the handling be the same with Rally (gravel & tarmac in both), but those are quite different cars though...) The Cooper tyre model is only used in RX. It's a crossply tyre and is quite different to what is used in Rally and Landrush.  Thanks for the quick answer again and bringing these facts up.  It's really great to see the amount of work done to make it correct especially when it is so unique to RX vs other disciplines in the game. I think it shows some serious dedication from the devs side! And i have now learned something new again! Would you like or consider to work similarly in-depth what you did with Cooper, with some manufacturer regarding Rally tires in future or have you even already done so?  Absolutely but the data is not readily available. The rigs used to test tarmac tyres simply don't apply to loose surfaces as they are designed to simulate an abrasive sealed surface. How a gravel tyre cuts into a loose surface is entirely different. Then there is the incredibly complex matter of the depth and density of the loose surfaces that the tyre cuts into.  This is why we rely on drivers like Kris Meeke giving us feedback on how the cars feel on the various loose surfaces. He has a great deal of experience competing in a number of modern and classic cars that we represent in game. He helped us refine the experience to what we have today.  I think that's one of the most honest answer from game-dev-prod I've ever read in my life.  This is how devs should dooo it

Yes. If you choose to. You can select your platform only. That's good news, does it have different leader boards for arcade / sim handling? Yes How are you all in studio today? :) Haribos flying everywhere? ;)

Harsh review from Games Radar. I completely disagree even though I ain't played yet. IMO he's just a noob who should git gud. Forza funboy. It’s a decent and capable modern racing game, but one that’s demonstrably outshone by Forza Horizon 3 and Driveclub in almost every way.http://www.gamesradar.com/dirt-4-review/

Believe me, you'd rather have to download it once than having to download a patch half of it size on release date ;) If you're going to download it on HDD beware of totally slow Steam decryption. On some drives, it's even slower than downloading depending on your bandwidth.

And you totally flipped that conversation about damage and licensing to insinuate the manufacturers are also demanding that the car handlin can't be too realistic. No matter what anyone tells you will make you happy, you just keep on ranting about stuff. If something you rant about gets an explanation you just switch rant subject. Just wait a few days til the game is out, give it a go, then you can tell everybody what's wrong. Again. I have a DR out of EA dejavu.

And that's why 15 years old games (ie all gModor based ones) can show more deformation than than D4? D4 cars are prone to brake apart rather then deformate.  But if there is no enough energy, then damage is barely visible (for example after roll). Even D:R has more deformation than D4 shown on recent videos. Moreover deformation in D:R could be extended by using community mod. It proves that better deformation is in place, ready to use. But for some reasons suppressed by developers. And please don't say it's because of manufacturers demands. Manufacturers demands aka license holders requirements. It's because of manufacturer demands. I agree our damage systems could be improved but it is all confined by the demands of the licensing agreements. I'd argue cars take more damage in DiRT than they do in many other current licensed racing titles but every time we release a game the manufacturers get stricter about damage not more lenient. @KickUp are we able to disable driver's hands and or wheel in-car camera? All videos are with them enabled and you didn't answered that question earlier (at least not that I know of).

I'm starting to be concerned it's not that easy to just tweak a single number and it might be related to the aero changes preventing car going wrong way on jumps. Hopefully not and I'm just over worrying. Please note flicks are performed rather with low speed. Aero doesn't take much effect in that case. You didn't have to have much speed over a jump to experience the flaw. You just had to jump.  Still you need a lot higher speed for taking off, than to turn using a flick. If you see/feel some bad experience while airborn at 60km/h, it's not air physics related. Rather mass, gravitation, momentum vector related. By saying aero I meant these 3 things. There's no real "aero" in game, only a "simulation" of it.  Please don't argue on using words, no point in this. By watching the videos I've concluded there's something off with the central weight of the car and how it transfers the momentum when pulling hand brake and steering on it's rear. And IMHO that's exactly what it was when it comes to jumps in DR. It transfered the momentum weirdly and we're ending up flying 45 degrees sideways but still going forward.  P.S. I'm just worried, I've loved how you could throw the cars on gravel in DR.  P.S2. I'm not going to any assumptions before playing in one week. Can't wait to do it.
