DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

There is Quality Control but very few (if any) are a rally specialist. We have a limited amount of foreign language testers and the codriver audio is a huge volume of work that was included very late in the day hence why these issues are present in the current game. I can only apologise for them existing and we are fixing what we can.  I personally check the English codriver calls because I write them with Jon Tucker and then record them. The foreign language calls are recorded separately and then checked by our testers. Sadly the only rally specialists that use them are you guys which is why it is really important that you tell us when things are wrong.  No offence @KickUp , I understand the situation but it seems like you could use some help from foreign community testers few day before releases. ;)  I'm pretty sure you could find at least one in each country that could be trustable. On the other side of the coin that tight release date that you guys had before christmas...I guess that was nervous. ;]

@BrySkye pointed out very important thing - liveries in consoles can't be replaced. I think we might be getting some new liveries to a few cars. It's definetely not the new Subaru, it's not poignant

What he said. Take your 3d mesh deformation to it's own thread please.it's gone past the gossip stage. I was taking that discussion more as how everyone sees future, not a current game gossip but OK! P.S. #KubicaDontGo

Back to gossip guys! @Kickup said: "I don’t want to give too much away but I should probably clarify that it isn’t a massive feature but it is something pretty special that will add something quite poignant to DiRT Rally that has been missing from the series for a long time." I don't know anything no more.

@Hatward generally speaking your angular failed to create two inputs for selecting a possibility to Repair a car and Service a car (no setups too) in League Creation at DirtGame.com

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

I've never played Sega Rally and I was really suprised when I've seen on some of your video that there was a dynamic road surface in such old game. It's a feature I've been dreaming about since I've played Rally Championship 2000 for the first time (my first rally game). In my head it's most important parts are: Mud and grass thrown into the road from corner cutting, the place where corner is cutted should be more deep after each car (more wet conditions = faster digging), on a second leg you might scratch the tarmac where it ends with bottom of your car First few cars creating a road line for others with significant strong that tyres have to dig through the gravel to the more hard surface underneath itAlot of random bigger and smaller rocks on gravel stages (we've had that for a while but I didn't meet one since 1.0) Smaller suprises in tarmac stages on corner cuttings (i.e. a tree root which's very often)Leg system. First leg the road is not so bad. Second leg is a lot harder and the road is totally devastated.Optional: dynamic spectators - changing their places as well as individuals in weird places hiding behind trees. Most likely alive. Unfortunately I don't think it's possible with current technology (well it is, but not how I imagine it). Maybe in a decade or two.

@austinb well that makes WRC pointless cause at least half of the stages per season are classic stages known by the drivers very well. Heck, a few now also by me at least partialy ;)

Well I agree with @RyuMakkuro who has approved my gut feeling with proper arguments. I don't think that @KickUp was wanting a rally school in all CM's games for 5 years so it must be something more universal that also applies to GRID and F1 series and maybe even to some non-racing games ;)

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

I'm gonna sum a few things up: @Kickup: "Lets just say something that I have wanted for our games...."Well I see there's a plural - games. So it may not be only related to racing games.    2.  @Kickup: "... well over 5 years has finally been approved :)" Game's that surely didn't contain them are all DiRTs and GRIDS.   3. @Kickup: "@Rallycameraman @MastaVonBlasta It will be coming to DR" We can be sure it's coming. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be in both releases (consoles and PCs). I'm assuming that either he and his team had this done and closed in a drawer even without management approval. In that case there's no problem in implementing it before release (guys it's 3 months, that's hell lot of time). My gut tells my it could be something related to cheater detection, dunno why.

In case someone missed it - WRC uploaded highlights from MC 2005.  Oh that entering music reminds me of CMR 2 :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwEXm4hny0c

Not for me. I never liked the combination of green and red. The 2014 and 2015 liveries were good, the 2016 looks very nice. I almost agree, but there're two exceptions (this and Celica): [oh, how I'd love to have this car in DR]

I'd say the economical situation in European countries makes it a lot harder to appreciate what we have here, since we often don't have time and resources to be able to appreciate it. When I say see something like this I'm pretty sure you're right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLVyRAt2cxbxs4BwfutPepMc7jmkOLpnbo&v=rdbMRwEpmxg

If I'm not mistaken this was already mentioned...licencing. These not smart people in high positions simply don't want their cars to be crashed. Idi....

Well someone found a way to convert OGG to WEM and compress it back to BNK.  I've tested the polish codriver - the audio was used also in WRSMP for RBR (separate app that you had running with RBR and it gave you custom codrivers). It's synced pretty good, there are few details added if im not mistaken and generally it is hopeful! We'll see how it will behave in more complex stages (Oberstein is right, 200, left, 200, 500).

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Totally agree with @BrySkye - that's also a reason why I believe that someone will find a way to enable it as a mod even without any fancy gui and collision detection. I've been driving PP lately and I've started to really enjoy it. Got to say - the gravel sections are really fun to drive! I'm for a full gravel course from now on. Hopefully it's not licensing problems. Maybe the silence means that they're working on it and don't want to jinx.

    DiRT Rally (2015) FAQ

@Dider No. SoftLock settings % in game is for the force of hardness when you're trying to rotate the wheel above the degree that's allowed. 150% - basically you can't overrotate your wheel. If you want to have a Real degree of steering set your Logitech Profiler to 900 degrees and turn in game setting for Soft Lock On, and percentage of hardness with your personal  preferences.

@griev0r my DiRT somehow decided to give me 20% deadzones everywhere - I don't have a clue how long I was driving like that but my times were worst at least for a month now.

I'll start a new year's gossip then. I've been greping files for some interesting values and I've found something like this: Action id="Replay Youtube" Any Youtube Integration is planned or what was the purpose of these in some previous games?

Are  you thinking of the documentary that's meant to be included with the physical version of the game in April? Yea that's it! I just woke up, something seemed to be unreal with what I'm writing about ;)
