In this acquisition instance the tables are turned and it’s EA who will be learning from Codemasters with their years of expertise in coding F1 games. Don’t expect much to change here, except that maybe more resources in terms of manpower and money to make F1 into an even better game going forward. EA does have more avatar experience than Codemasters so that visualization process that looks bit wonky now in the game will improve. Also EA is richer and more of a recognized gamer than the other company so it’s a win win for Codemasters all around!

F1 2021 (the game) should be a mega one for Codemasters. First off, I would expect a 2020 sub season included in the game that features those most exotic of F1 tracks traversed this year to include Istanbul Park, Mugello, Imola, Algarve, and Nurburgring GP. I hate to see Vietnam go, but if rumors pan out, Algarve will replace the place-holder race in April and a new street circuit in Saudi Arabia is most welcome. This track line up will be one of the busiest for a Codemasters game and they will do well to plug the hell out of it in 2021. Add some new classic cars in there and, wow - F1 2021 will be juggernaut of a jam-packed game.

Im thinking there may be maintenance taking place on the Microsoft server side of things, as Codemasters would have alerted the group of it was on their side. I’m getting a connection code 22 error on XB1

I'm finding the classic cars in this game extremely difficult to control in the rain and I'm thinking to myself that these cars were nowhere this difficult to drive IRL. Knowing that driving assists such as traction control where banned from F1 since 2008, can we have a list of classic cars in the game that used whatever sort of traction control? I'd feel much better using these where applicable for the cars that once utilized them.

What was stabilized ?

Adding the MDF to cockpit view, finally, is a major plus for the game. I just hope you have it positioned just right, if not, being able to relocate said feature on the screen could be a plus also.

Being that these are ad-hock tracks on which FIA approved F1 races are being run on in ad-hoc manner this year, these new tracks will have to be scanned and included in some kind of supplement to next year's game. Istanbul Park has to be included in some playable fashion, be it just for Grand Prix, Multiplayer and Time Trial modes, in next year's version, and they they had better be on their way with this effort now. Or we can have in F1 2021 the 2020 season with these tracks.

My lawyer has advise me based on this game EULA that Microsoft is out of line for cutting off my access to multiplayer due to a communication violation of its Xbox live policy. This is wrong Codemasters, as they are interdicting on the games functionality which has nothing to do with multimedia sharing, as they claim $&#%*^..to say the least!!!!! This screen appears when I click on ranked or unranked race in multimedia in the game.

I didn't think adding new improvised tracks would be possible post game release, after all this is a strange F1 starter year if any! At any rate if for the business of F1 they have to add tracks to the calendar not in the game, that can be overlooked as the FOM is trying to recoup business lost due to CV. That said, if improvised tracks do make it onto the calendar, they should be included in F1 2021 as "improv 2020 tracks in multiplayer and Time trial mode.

There is talk of reviving Mugello, Imola and Hokenheimring. So this begs the question, if these impromptu tracks make onto the calendar as a stopgap, will we see them in the game and will this case a delay in the game's release date??

How the Skill System works
There are several factors which affect your rating:
1) Number of Players
2) Skill Ratings
3) Assists
4) Finishing position
5) Penalties
6) Quitting
Players & Skill Rating
The skill system works on a 1v1 basis. This means you will be rated against every single driver in the lobby.
Beating drivers with a higher rating than yours will increase yours more than beating a driver with a lower score.
Likewise, being beaten by a driver with a lower score than yours will decrease your skill rating more than by being beaten by a higher ranked driver.
With this in mind you stand to gain or lose a lot more score in a lobby of 20 drivers as opposed to a lobby with 5 drivers.
Yeah, I know that , but my point is that the MS Admins have at their disposal the ability to apply penalty points (something they mentioned they have the ability to do for the Forza Multiplayer Lobbies) and I'm sure they've singled out my game-tag and are apply those penalties willy-nilly out of sheer spite. In the rear instance when they don't know that I'm on, the points system works as it should. I'm telling you that MS admins are the the culprits here. Can some look at my sessions via the database and see if the points that I've earned are the actual points and have not been tampered with post application? I have a couple of other videos to post when I get in today. Run some SQL man!

14 hours ago, DrDraken said:Indeed. It's not my favourite track, but it's starting to grow on me. There are parts of the track that I used to really not like - the blind corners haunted me while the S's laughed at me. And it didn't feel like there was much flow to it, despite having all the key components of a great race track.
But I was driving it all wrong. I was trying to drive it like the tracks it resembles. And because of that, MY flow was off, and my speed suffered and my enjoyment decreased because it was more frustration than anything else.
So I applied the various bits of race craft that I know to it. The S's are like Suzuka - hit 'em right and you fly through, miss and you lose a lot of time. The key was first to stop thinking of it like Suzuka, and to find the exact turning point and speed to start the first S in order to carry that speed through to the end. I used to be down in 4th by the long right-hander that ends the S's. By the time I got it right, I was in low 6th, dropping to 5th for the added turning. You really can fly through there.
The same with the double-right-handers and hairpins to long straights. There are keys to getting through these as fast as possible.
It's a technical track, to be sure. But because it's so open, it doesn't appear that way at first. It's a bit of a paradox in that respect. When you attack the course with that in mind, you start to see how each part of the track links with the next. And once you do, the track's flow starts to really emerge.
And when all the bits fit together, it stops being a copy/paste of other tracks and becomes a great race track in its own right.
Absolutely! Every F1 track is unique in it's own right and each requires a different approach. Adjust your approach and viola, you're seeing the track in a whole new light. One way to learn a track is via time trials - an amazing learning tool in the game.

What you're asking for is doable on a personal profile basis that will require data to be stored externally to the game, and that means more unnecessary work for an annual game. The game mirrors what actually happens in the real world, where individual skill is retained at the person level and each driver is required to port that skill into the new season. I don't think Codemasters cares much about your game-to-game career stats as much as they care about individual skill that's already tracked in-game annually.

Video # 1) I started 8th, finished 7th and was ducked 3 points! Just look at the racers I'm ahead of! There should have been no point deduction here.
Video #2) I started 7th, finished 5th and earned only 2 points - and look at the skill-set of the people I finished ahead!!!
Can someone stop this game abuse on my points. It's the employees at Microsoft tasked with overseeing the multiplayer sessions that's up to this, as they have the ability to apply penalties at their discretion when warranted and in my case these penalties are NOT unwarranted! The have access to the copious database of driver stats and they monitor my gaming sessions primarily to harass my game. If these folks have nothing better to do, I'd like to get them a small cage with a couple of hens to tend to- that should keep their spare time occupied!
In the odd moments when they're don't catch my sessions, I earn copious points. This is how I know someone is up to this!

Will the XB1 disk version be made available for pre-order on Amazon USA, as I don't see it listed as yet. Also, please don't say that you'll make available only the digital version from the Microsoft Store! That will be most unacceptable, as I need the DISK!

One of the reasons that most don't appreciate this circuit, (and I notice also the same reaction in Forza Motorsport multiplayer lobbies where once the circuit is featured, most drop off) is that it's of a technical nature, as are most of the American racing circuits. The word technical really means "problem-solving" where you have a set of tools at your disposal that can be applied to solve a particular problem. Circuit of the Americas is a very technical F1 circuit because it is American. (If you play Forza Motorsport and race the likes of VIR, Laguna Sega, Road Atlanta, Lime Rock and Sonoma Raceway, you get the gist of what I'm saying). It is fast flowing, as in the first corner that directs you up-hill with an amazing blind left-hander into the start of the S's. And this first corner is just the the beginning of this awesome Tilke creation. What drivers need to appreciate this masterpiece of a circuit, is to reach deep down into their toolkit and devise way to problem solve this master race track. Only when you do that can you come to appreciate this very amazing circuit they say incorporates a piece of each of the major F1 circuits. Technical circuits require technical skills to overcome it, so solve it drivers! COTA rules!

Now there is absolutely no reason that my points should have been negated in this instance. I started in eight position and passed two cars of a much higher skill rating than mines who both started in higher grid positions, as you can clearly see, so why was my score negated by about 20 points and I had a totally clean race, even passing Grid position 6 in the final lap due to a damaged wing? What the hell is going on here folks??!!!!
This happened within the last 1/2 hour of this posting.
-----------
In the second example, I started in position 10, finished 8th, beating out 3 drivers two of which are of a higher skill-set and get nicked for 5 points? Can some check the accuracy of this scoring as I feel my game sessions are being unfairly targeted for unwarranted point reductions by unscruplous game sessions admins on the Microsoft side!

I think it was Black Sabbath who said, and I quote, "The Human race will never learn" from song "Back to Eden". Another reason maybe to have a ghosted multiplayer session!

Codemasters have been trying its best to please both niches as well as they could but wouldn't be easier if we had two versions of the game like the dirt and dirt rally games? Codemasters can create a "sim" version of the game focused on physics/gameplay and create another version focused on singleplayer/content.
This is s question of existentialism, isn't it? Why don't we have two versions of ourselves? One that plays with a controller and on that doesn't?! 😂😂😂

I started in 8th position and did not qualify and I get only 16 points when two of the four people I beat have a higher skill rating???
In # 2, you see I qualified 7th, finished 5th and from 1332 was ducked 8 points when one of the two people I beat had a higher skill rating and I had a clean race. Can someone look into this?! I don't think this is right.

So that answers that - F2 is back in the game. Yuk! If this is the case there is no reason all classic cars should not return, in addition to Schumacher's additions.

For a one year game they need to remove micro-transactions and make all items free. People hardly ever revert to previous racing game except to race on missed tracks or drive classic cars, so what's up with having to pay for **** that will becomes obsolete in a year's time???!!!
