  1. Engine failures and the many ilks of it IMO should not exist in this game, as fiascoes and the likes would only disrupt game play when the intent of any game is continuous play.  Recall this is still a game, and not an exact replica of the sport.  What I'd like to see replicated more in the game is tire shedding and clag being picked up by tires providing more grip under certain conditions. Spend more time on tire/tarmac physics than on stoppage issues.

  2. I also notice in the cockpit view around 0:36 there is difficulty seeing the rumble strips ahead.  An unrestricted cockpit view of the curbs ahead is sine qua non and I hope this issue is corrected for all cars on all tracks before the game is released! Thanks in advance!

  3. Totally slamming Codemasters - nice early reveal! Also we need to be reassured that all of the classic cars from 2019 return in this edition, even if that means scrapping the worthless F2 content with its slower, less-powered cars!  The Schumacher cars should be in addition to the classic cars of 2019! I do which that you had stuck to a June release date as you did last year, but hey, what's 15 days more, yes?!

Something tells me that the game is going to be released before the Monaco GP 😂

Yeah, because of the pandemic we'll be seeing the game earlier than mid-June for sure.  Everything up to the French GP is either postponed or cancelled as of right now.

  5. The thing about using automatic transmission in racing is that you miss the opportunity to use what gear you deem appropriate for a given scenario, whereas with manual you have that choice and also the ability to extract the maximum torque and horsepower from the engine by bring the rev-limiter as close to redline as possible, which is where the power and speed is on tap for manual transmissions. Only someone who doesn't understand the mechanics of how a cars works will make a statement like this!

If they are scanning those tracks they have scanned them already, way before the crisis started. Making a track from laser scan is SLIGHTLY more complicated than just scanning it and then pushing a button.

Can't they use the date obtained from testing, providing that each new car was tested at Barcelona?! Tough call this F1  2020 game!

They said that the planning for the game is concluded.

Planning for the game doesn't necessarily mean completion, as planing could proceed actual coding of the game, as in most software shops.

I see there's reduced damage and TC /ABS available to drivers. Sorry but that sounds boring to watch to me, takes away the whole excitement of the real thing entirely. I saw Lando and Max race live on Twitch yesterday (iracing) and it was a demolition derby. They were obviously having a blast but not many skills were on show, mostly the 2 F1 drivers trying to wreck each other! Lando won the dirty driver award by a mile, cutting across the inner track area (Sonoma Raceway) to ram the whole field on the start /finish straight. Of course they had their buddys doing admin deleting black flag and penalties after wrecking. Was amusing for a short while but the lack of actual racing made it pointless. Highlight for me was Lando getting pole by over 2 second. Classy on the limit driving!

Only a few F1 drivers ever bother to play video racing games. Lando Norris and Verstappen may have a leg up on the competition in that respect.  So it's a learning curve for most of them, that's why going forward it should be an F1 requirement that F1 drivers spend time playing F1 games and in a very serious fashion.

  9. With the 2020 F1 season for all intensive purposes cancelled (things will get progressively worse before it gets better), the importance of the release of F1 2020 has just been escalated to paramount! This could be the year that this game's release could be heralded as one of the most anticipated, where fans will virtually sample the Vietnam and Dutch new F1 circuits before actual F1 drivers! Bring it folks, and don't let the game be subject the corona virus, because the disease simply doesn't exist virtually!

  10. Cancelled races should use last year's data, but I see no reason why the game, now so more than ever, should not be published, and sooner rather than later.  Let the game fill the gap where there is the possibility of the entire season being cancelled...a very plausible outcome.
