  1. I have an idea - why don't they just run this year's GP eSport fashion?! Is this a possible team strategy going foward? Why not. Going forward all teams and drivers should have access to a virtual rig contraption of some sort that's linked to Codemasters' F1 game and if inclement weather or disasters or virulent diseases such as we are experiencing now should prevent mobility, then all teams should have their drivers convene to a location in Britain somewhere and run the missed races or entire season virtually!  Hello!

😂 That would be brilliant. Imagine driving around Bahrain in game with no crowd... I would like to hope Codies keep China in game. Do we know if/when the FIA are going to make a final call on whether China will be moved to later in the year?

If fatalities from the virus rise in the next few months in other countries and  even in F1 sport or management,  more F1 races may have to be cancelled. Keep in mind that F1 is an international sport.  Looks like I spoke too soon...the Australian GP is now Cancelled due to the virus!

  3. If the race before the season begins is sanctioned to be off the calendar, there is no use of including it in the game, as that would be an accurate reflection of the current season. But if Codemasters have already planned for its inclusion in the game, then it becomes a bonus for players! I'd like to see it in the game for sure! We can have Jeff say something about Covid-19 to make it all official and all! 😂😂

  4. Also Codemasters, don't forget that high-pitch super sonic tone that is quite audible from the cockpit view and can be heard above the din of engine noises. This sound was not very pronounced in F1 2019. There should also be more emphasis on the cat-back growl under deceleration and early acceleration.  Do these two and engine sounds will be perfected!

  5. Man there are people who are incredibly fast in this game because they just are. Doesn't mean they're cheating! But what it does mean is that you're incredibly slower than they are and you should not be jealous of their speed - they've earned it!  Practice, practice, practice, and one day you'll be up to their level!

  6. Absolutely it should, as it's a unique feature of the W11! The issue then becomes how and when to actuate it. They'll have to look at W11 data from the start of the season until the game is released to best determine how Lewis and Valtteri are using the new steering feature to apply it to the game.  As a cockpit driver I can't wait to see some pull-back action via the steering wheel, such like how ERS is deployed manually!  DAS is F1 2020!

  7. If it's not inclement weather doing the killing, then it's a virus. What else will potentially jeopardize F1 venues this year!  Given that F1 is a potentially lethal sport anyways, where drivers as well as spectators can succumb to fatal injuries during a race, I say let the show go on.  The air quality in Melbourne vs the very rare chance of someone catching this virus while attending the race seems a bit far-fetched to me for the latter.  In the words of Queen, the show must go on!

Everytime i try to join a ranked server i am the only person in the lobby,i purchased this game to race online, that does not seem possible.Waste of time and money, every other racing sim i own i can always race online but nobodyseems to be playing this game..Anyone know why????

This experience has really put me off buying anymore F1 games from Codemasters which is a shame.

You have to take into consideration time of day for Europe, Asia and the Americas when playing online.  Most adult players play between 6pm to say 11-12 PM.  Most kids, retired folks and slackers play during the day, and among those audiences you have to take into consideration safety and skill ranking. When you factor these in, you may or may not have viable players at your disposals. On the weekends, multiplayer is most very populous, but on the weekdays, you have to watch for the when folks get off work.

  9. I think they should! Cause there's some serious disparity with track length and width that I'm noticing when I study pole lap time videos. Take for example Melbourne,  when you look at Lewis' 2019 lap from the T-Cam perspective, you notice how very shorter the track distances are between corners as compared to the helmet cam view in the game which, I drive in strictly in, given that the T-Cam is located aft the helmet view. For example, I cannot for the life of day take Turn 11 flat out in the game (using controller), which Hamilton seems to do with the W10 with almost no effort.  Perhaps the shorter distances between corners IRL contributes to shorter lap times as opposed to the game if the track surfaces are slightly elongated for game embellishment purposes.  Yeah, this needs to be looked at especially if the game is to conform to FIA regs for eSport competition etc.

Me too.. It just has so many interesting sections I find it hard to pick a favorite. Plus I love trees. Lots of them!

    😀

Yea, it's very hard to pick a favorite F1 circuit. I happen to like all of them with the exception of a couple that I didn't like that I've come to master over the years and grow found of, to include Jose Carlos Pace and Hermanos Rodriguez.  Second to SPA for me is Baku!

  11. The next big piece of technology coming to the next gen consoles is called Ray Tracing and its advent is definitely going to  revolutionize computer graphic rendering in a huge way. Rumor has it that Xbox Scarlett will feature dedicated hardware to handle Ray Tracing.  But don't expect to see any of this technology in 2020 with the release dates of the next gen consoles scheduled for late this year.  But we'll sure experiencing this new heights of graphics programming with the next next major regulation change scheduled for 2021 - new regulations, new console technologies!

There won't be patches once the F1 2020 season starts that's for sure. But then the hype train for the next release will begin.

By now they've already shifted focus to this year's release, with two new tracks and all. Any updates beyond January will be livery updates for the Australian GP, if natural conditions extant in that region allow.
