Who else think codemasters did an amazing job with autosport?
GJ77 replied to NWRCharger's topic in General Discussion
If you're playing on PC you can disable the rubber-banding. It disables saving, but they completely change the races (most of them become easier although some Touring Cars tracks are still bloody difficult to win on). I know, it was me who told you how to do that. ;) The lack of saving is a big problem. A single race just doesn't interest me as much as a championship. I just complete them normally on Noob difficulty then replay them with rubberbanding off (and AI on Very Hard) later on. The AI suck with rubber-banding off anyway :-/ I didn't test it much but it seemed like only Ravenwest (who normally get some sort of speed boost in addition to the regular rubber banding) were adversely affected. Like I said before, it was harder to get from 16th to 3rd but easier to get from 3rd to 1st. Anyway, playing every race twice seems like an awful hassle. What I might do is make a second Windows User Account and have a GAS session in there that never closes. Hopefully when I switch from that account to my normal account GAS will be suspended abd not eat up CPU in the background, though I've not tested this yet. I would have to leave my PC on all the time, maybe enable hybernation or something. -
4/10 Would be higher if not for the Return key next to "Select" on the screenshot.

Losing interest in this game now. The rubber banding in career mode kills it for me. Between this, DiRT3 (still not had GFWL patched out of it) and GRID2 (a functional but utterly shit game) I think I'm done with CM. -
Have You Raced For Ravenwest In GRID AUTOSPORT's Career Without Repeating Events?
GJ77 replied to DiRTKiNG808's topic in General Discussion
Yup, pretty idiotic game design really, but this game has much bigger problems so naturally this doesn't get many complaints. -
Not sure why this got moved from the DiRT forum into the GRID forum.

Any progress on this? Is it still happening or what?

Watched the video. You hit the back of him twice before "cleanly" overtaking him. Then he hit you. Then you went batsh!t mental. You have serious issues mate. -
Class C Touring Cars .......... which is the best?
GJ77 replied to SkipQuack's topic in General Discussion
Not a fan of the Focus TC personally. It gets the job done, I win (career) races with it, but it always feels sluggish and the front wheels really struggle to get traction (even compared to other FWD cars). -

I find the Cruze much easier to drive than the 320. Not saying the Cruze is faster, just easier to drive. -
Is your teammate helping or hurting you?
GJ77 replied to V8R3L3NTL3SS1's topic in General Discussion
Nope. On topic: depending on the event and situation, yes they can help, sometimes. A useless teammate starting in pole (reversed grid race) can be told to DEFEND and will slow down the pack for you. A competent teammate sitting in third can slow down the leaders if told to ATTACK. He may even overtake them, at which point he can be told to DEFEND and slow them down. To be honest though, these events are rare; mostly the teammates are just another car to pass. -
Grid Autosport makes its debut on Tales from the Grid

Very good :) -
What I like: It's not robotic. It follows the line like a human, rather than like a machine. It blocks, it jostles for room, it makes tiny, tiny mistakes all the time and occasionally makes big mistakes too. Even Ravenwest sometimes spin out without any other cars near them, and the spin-outs look like organic mistakes rather than the canned animation mistakes of GRID1. What I don't like: The pit manoeuvre. It doesn't belong in an "authentic" racing game. It's completely illegal in real racing. I also don't like the rubber banding or the rather wide gap in performance between Ravenwest and everyone else (if you evened up the competition you wouldn't need the rubber banding). When you get close to Ravenwest they get a magical speed boost. Please ditch that.

HDR audio simulates a greater range of volume than your speakers normally produce by making normal sounds go quiet when a very loud sound is played. Similar to the way games simulate bright lights by making everything else on the screen go dark (HDR graphics). Useful for people who use headphones and people who don't want to damage their ears, but if you have large speakers cranked up to ear-damaging volume levels then I suppose you might as well turn it off.

It's going to be a virtual mirror i.e. a rectangle at the top of the screen. I checked with @Loore already. Also the mirror is actually in the game right now and can be enabled with a tweak, but it's currently buggy.
