Just been reading some of the marketing stuff about earning XP for new gloves, liveries etc. Fine, but this does not improve the playability of the game. It's just cosmetic (most of which you dont see when playing and dont care about when you skip podiums at the end of the race once you get bored of watching them). No mention AT ALL about going back to a working online championship which says to me, there won't be one. Copy/Paste of last years eSports rubbish.... Sorry Codies, but you won't be getting a penny out of me this year at this rate, and i won't be stupid enough to sit thinking you'll patch in a mode later. NO SALE
-
I sincerely hope so, because like you, i wont be buying this game without the old online championship mode. We waited months for an update to the 2019 Online mode, and it was still broken, skipping sessions or not saving properly if you quit out and want to restart and generally just not working the way you'd want. Our small gaming crew who race weekly all discussed this a few weeks back, and all agree this'll be the first one we dont buy at launch (and wont even touch until we know the championship works properly online - or we get the old mode from F1 2018 back) I hate to be negative, but they way they handled trying to sort this last year, i doubt it'll be any different in this one.....but I'm happy to be proven wrong - over to you Codies!

Agree mate. Really wanted to buy GRID but didn't out of principle, and now we've had to go back to 2018 for a working championship, i wont be buying 2020 until well after its release date once im certain that they've either restored the Online Championship as before, or changed the current one so it has all the missing options. That basically means Codies have lost out on at least £100 from me, and i know im not the only one. No matter how many car liveries and paid helmets they release, it wont make this game playable, as when i am in the race i cant see them or care about them. My personal view, is they should only release one game every two years, and then sell a DLC in the years in between which updates cars, tracks and drivers. Trying to do a new one every year is obviously too big a feat for Codies....

Tried one last time last night to get this to work as we think it should. Its a mess. The AI is a joke (which is saying something compared to some of the other F1 games haha), the save still doesn't work properly - I've completely given up now. We're gonna stick with the 2018 version. 2019 is so frustrating we dont enjoy ourselves, which is the whole point of playing a game. Advice to our friends at Codies. Don't tell people you've worked on a game for 2 years before you release it when half the stuff that made the last game good is missing...
-
They'd be better off just doing a 2020 driver and livery re-skin for the 2018 game and sell it as DLC. I cant honestly trust them to get it right in the new game anymore 😂 they just dont understand what the fans want. "Oh you want saves between sessions eh? - Well, wait 7 months and then TADA have saves after 1 of the sessions but not the ability to restart, we good yeah?" - Epic fail
-
Yeah still buggy AF. We were meant to be on race day in Bahrain but it jumped us to China. So we decided as a group to sacrifice Monaco and change the race line up, so that we could re-run Bahrain and onto China as before... .. voted for the change, went back to the lobby, still China. Tried again. Same result. So we think ok, China it is we will just skip Bahrain, do China then the game decides to update the league, and puts China as our next race. FML every session in this game is a frustrating mess. eSports should have been a separate menu, not a replacement for the Online Championship 😔

We started a new championship last week (because we'd been playing F1 2018 until now). I think we made it through 1 race weekend (No practice, short qualy, 50% race) - so i hope when i get home tonight we should be in Bahrain which would mean its working as expected? I get what Vadar means about being so fed up with Codies **** support and not wanting to play it now, but i've paid a lot for this game, im getting something out of it lol
-
....which rightly or wrongly leads me to believe F1 2020 will just be a re-skin of 2019 with a few features they (purposefully?) left out of this one, to make the next one different enough to qualify as a "new game" Ah well - time will tell! I mean, i'm glad they've finally released some well needed updates for 2019 (albeit 7 months after release) because i can now play it with my guys on our weekly F1 session, it should also mean it has the longevity to keep me going until 2020 comes out, and i wait 6 months for all the missing features to be added 😉 Maybe I'm too positive, maybe im mad haha

OMFG they've only gone and fixed it 🤣

Hello fellow lurkers 😉 Yeah its pretty sad really the level of contempt we regular players and buyers of the F1 game have recieved from Codemasters over this whole mess. Reading some of the facebook posts you see the same thing, people complaining about saves between sessions, AI, safety cars and all the other items we've asked to be sorted on here, but Codies are too busy telling people what awards they are up for, or releasing stupid liveries that hardly anyone wants. (What really gets my goat is the people on their posts saying its the best F1 game they've ever played, have they only played this one then?) I'm actually pretty gutted, F1 release day every year is normally a highlight for me, but i can honestly say i wont be buying F1 2020 until i know full well that all the issues from 2019 are fixed, i just dont hold much hope.... But ill (stupidly) sit here, hoping beyond hope that we get an update or patch soon that fixes this joke of a game - thanks to those of you sticking it out with me 😛

Happy New Year all. Just wanted to say what a "pleasure" it was spending a bit of time together on here last year wasting our breath - and that none of the wanted implementations have been done for us by our friends at Codies. Hope your New Year resolution was like mine, deciding to not buy F1 2020, GRID, DIRT or any other Codies racing game until they stop making dodgy liveries for quick cash and actually fix the bits of the game that need it. F1 2019, so much promise, so much epic fail. #MakeF1GreatAgain #SaveBetweenOnlineSessions

Yeah it's pretty sad I bought this game day 1 and it's been gathering dust pretty much ever since. Hope they make loads out of these liveries, they've gotta cover the cost of losing their loyal fanbase somehow. Thanks for all the good times Codies, but I think most like me will now vote with their wallet. Hope the dlc was worth it
-
Oh joy. Another patch, and nothing fixed that should be fixed. But great, new "customisation bundles" we can pay for. FFS Codies, surprised you haven't added saves in between sessions as a paid DLC Really ruining the goodwill you've built up with your fanbase over the years. This is a joke....
-
....and just like Santa, this feature doesn't exist other than in our imagination 😑😅

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/146902/codemasters-f1-game-contract-extended-to-2025 Don't worry guys, they have the licence until 2025 now, we'll get a working online championship by then surely? 😁

Still no saves online but Halloween customisations? FML - I give up 😕 F1® 2019 PATCH NOTES – v1.15 Patch 1.15 is out on PC now, and will be out on PS4 and Xbox One pending first party approval. F1 2019 "should" let you do all the things you have mentioned above, but for some reason these features were removed since F1 2018. Your best option at the moment would be to buy F1 2018 - as Codemasters dont seem to want to fix the issues in 2019 unfortunately. The Online Championship works fine, Leagues in 2019 do not.
-
The 'funniest' bit in all this is that I've actually spent more time on this forum since the game released than i have on the actual game itself..... @Faya - any news from the Devs on saving between sessions (and other items mentioned above) yet please?
-
Might sound a bit melodramatic here, but I've have completely lost faith in Codies with this. I've been playing your games since starting in the 80s with my Spectrum (BMX Simulator & Dizzy!!), and always buy your racing games, so naturally was planning on getting the new GRID but sorry to say I think ill be holding back my money on this and any further Codies releases now. The fact i am still playing F1 2018, 2 months after release of the 2019 edition, because its so bad compared to 2018 and missing loads of functions from it, is complete insanity. No updates from you or any of your forum minions for weeks now on this thread, and when updates for the game have come out, its for stuff wouldn't care about or even notice (like livery changes). Bad form Codemasters. I'm getting the impression that if the other users on this thread are like me, then you'll be losing a lot of sales for your upcoming stuff......
-
...and yet another patch release and still no saves in between online sessions. We've been back playing F1 2018 for over a month now Codies. Forget the liveries now, and fix the bits of the game people want please
-
Yeah still waiting on the save between sessions in league. Still unplayable for me and my friends without that, as cannot commit the time to do a whole race weekend in one sitting. Pity to not see it in the patch notes, or even mentioned as being looked at by the Devs. Thankfully F1 2018 still connects to the servers so we've given up. Will go back to 2019 if it's implemented soon.
-
Really big oversight Codies, hate to say, because it's a great game overall but missing the online championship feature out has made this unplayable for me and my friends. We've gone back to F1 2018. ...let's hope you patch it back in soon (or change your leagues to be more flexible)
