DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Watches the DiRT Show and thinks... Codies are humble enough to admit, and take onboard, feedback from a Professional Driver ( Peter's Son ), who e-mailed them saying theirs game isn't good enough, and could / should be improved. In other game, that's maketed as the Top-Notch Simulator, from the Dev's, a Professional Driver, with tons of RL experience in a handful of Racing Disciplines, goes to theirs Forums, and when he gives Feedback saying that theirs Tyre Model doesn't feel quite right, and even provides what might be a solution to the issue, some Lord ( you know who he is ) comes over, and says, literally: " F*%# Off, i know better ". On Topic... Awesome DiRT Show, guys!! Great Production, and having Peter, his son, and Kris ( who's my favourite Rally driver since Colin McRae ) onboard is fantastic *thumbs up*

Kinda Off-Topic SimBin gonna launch GTR3 next year, and SimBin CEO praising Codies for F1 2016 ( i guess he means the last one ) handling... and they didn't see D4 yet :p   Codies setting the benchmark :) http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/gtr-3-by-simbin-coming-in-2018.131230/

We already know Pikes Peak won't happen, but it's Hillclimb events/stages completly ruled out, from DiRT 4, for launch, or dlc @KickUp?

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

@KickUp Will we feel the car damage, in our steering wheels? What i'm trying to say is, like in some other Simulators ( AMS, rF2, etc ), when, for example, our Suspension is badly damaged, to drive the cars in a straight line, our Steering wheels is turned i.e. 60 degrees to left/righ, or when we have a i.e. front left flat tyre, our steering wheels "pull" to the left. I'd like to really feel that the cars are damaged, through steering wheels, and not only visualy.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

@KickUp - There will be any " unique Pace Notes"? Like ex: Co-Driver yelling at us when we crash, or congratulating us when we beat a Stage Time... That kind of stuff. If yes, please make sure they will only play once in awhile, or they won't be "unique" anymore. - Apart from Competitors crashed on the side of the Stage, there will be any Wild Life ( or any other kind of Random Events ) crossing the Stages? This kind of litle ( big ) details is what makes the immersion even bigger, me thinks :p Thank you so much for all the answers to all of us, really appreciated :)

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

@KickUp 1 - It will be possible to watch our Modded Skins ingame ( i.e. Garage / Selecting the Car ), other than just when we are driving the Cars ( like in DR )? 2 - If i select to play with Sim handling, my Career Profile will be locked to that handling, or can we jump between handlings, whenever we want, with the same Profile ( and there's no need to do 2 Profiles )? 3 - Does Nicky Grist and Jen Horsey recorded the Pace Notes on the D-Box ( at least for Career, since it's fixed Stages and not generated ones )? Can we still feel the rush, or calm, in theirs voices, depending how we are driving? 4 - The only difference between Casual and Sim modes are the handling or, as example, Sim mode has more complex car setup settings, and Casual more simplified ones? Thanks for being on the Forums answering our questions :)

@KickUp How the Garage will work? It will be 3D where we can appreciate every litle detail of cars? Will we have a photo-mode?

Yaris anti-lag sound is so brutal. Miles ahead from the others, when it comes to car/engine sound.

Hope there's still wild life crossing the stages, like in DiRT Rally. In those videos, Australian fences look like walls, when crashing against them. Hopefully, it's because it's still an Early build and it will get "fixed" for final product. We don't need concrete bushes and sign posts, like in DR :p If you guys decide to inclued tyre choices, can we have tyre pressures, as well, @KickUp, or i'm asking for too much? :p

@KickUp Any possibility for: - Ingame Telemetry we can check to better fine tune the cars? - G-Meter, Pedals, Wheel rotation, etc, on screen? - Tyre choices? and the question no one asked yet... How about the FFB? Any big improvements, particularly on Tarmac?

#disappointed I was expecting a DiRT Rally 2, and not a D4.  I'll wait for more info, but i'm not really hyped.

So... New game at April 27th 2017? Would be cool, exactly 2 years after DR launch... Altough, my bet is a release around next Summer, July/August.

Uninspired livery ( to not say ugly ) and horrible back side. Front is ok'ish. Resuming, ugly car, but i hope Toyota does well next season, we need Toyota in WRC. Would love to see Subaru doing a come back, in a near future.

Awesome news!! Not only for Rally, but if Codies decide to "expand" the Hillclimb, with more Tracks ( i hope so ), Porsche cars can be featured in here as well. Many Hillclimb drivers, around the globe, running with them. I assume it isn't a cheap license tough...

New i20 livery ( and car ) is gorgeous. I love the touch with the fluo orange rims.

Why choose the Spanish (it is Spanish right?) cover? Rally RACC DLC for DiRT Rally?  The phrase " Modo Online Incluido " ( Online Mode Inclueded ), on the cover, it's Portuguese... Fafe confirmed!! Altough, for Portuguese stages, i'd prefer Lagoa Azul / Sintra, from mid 80's. The last time Gr.B ran in Portugal was there... and was the last time i saw those iconic beasts irl, flying low =(

All i want for next game is a game with a big focus on Rally, like DR, but just better and with more content. If they do a D4, or a stand alone RX game ( what???? ), i'm gonna be very disappointed, and i bet all you guys want that i'm not gonna be the only one...

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

I wonder if DiRT Rally detached/highlighted from the other games means something... DR 2.0 in April ( 4 ) 5th ( 2005 )... nah, too obvious, and only 5 months left to develop the game DR 2.0 in September ( 4+5 )... hmm, it's possible Classes R2, R4 and R5 in next DR... a possibility The answer it's in these numbers, somehow...

Release a Circuit Racing game ( like TOCA games ), and be a success/popular, it needs to be top-notch, with all the competition there's atm ( AC, AMS, R3E, etc ). Imo, it's a route where they would have a hard time. Better keep doing the kind of games, where they are the leading Studio ( Rally/Off-Road ) and improve them at every new release. They have no competition, or competition can't get even close... yet.

I want cars making jumps like that, in next game, not like we have atm, in Finland. Atm feels like there's no gravity / downforce / whatever. Also, give me that 22B in next game, Codies!!

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

That is something i'd like to see, people running out of the way, once in awhile. More diversity and better crowd animations. I'd like to hear Marshals horning when we aproach big crowd spots. Maibe while we're driving, with the car engine screaming, it's hard to hear, but on the replays, would be nice to hear them. Also, more wild live crossing the stages, and would be a nice touch, once in awhile, at night stages, wild live get blinded by the car lights at the middle of the road, and get out of the way, at the last moment. Of course, Codies would need to make sure that it would be impossible to kill any wild live...

Car upgrades, how they are implemented atm, isn't something i'm happy with. Drive X kilometers to get them, feels kinda a grind. Upgrades could be car parts ( turbos, differentials, dampers, springs, etc ) we could buy and it would add more strategy and in the end, not everyone running with the same car Setup ( ex: depending of what we would buy to our car, car could be fast but with less grip or more grip and a slower car ). I imagine implementing something like this would be a mammoth job, to get it right, and probably not a goof idea ( we could end with overpowered cars =P ) but hopefully, Codies already figured out how car upgrades can work in a better way, without feeling a grind and in a simplistic way ( drive X = you get Y ). Probably it's just better no car upgrades, in next game... Oh, and btw, Fiat 600 confirmed!! :p

I'm all for a service park view when you need to service the car. Also something I like in RBR is driving a bit further and come to a halt yourself at the end of a stage instead of just finishing and seeing a slowmotion view of you going over the finish. Yeah, these are the kind of things i'd like to see, in fact i suggested both already many times. Those crossing the finishing line need to improve badly, very, very Arcade atm. I really love how it is in RBR ( exactly how it should be ). Another thing that i think it would add a better presentation to the game is, in car selection menu / garage ( cars need to be 3D Models in there, and with a Photo-Mode as well ), every car should have a short description / history of ( just an exemple of could be in there ) year that started Rallying, who were the teams and drivers who drove / drive the car, how many drivers and manufacteurs championships the car won, etc, etc. Some cars are iconic / legends, let the players know why =D

Next game could ( must ) have a better presentation, in many areas, i agree with you guys there, but if is "too much", it will get on the way. I like to get to the point ( do stages ) quickly, without wasting time. Find a good balance on this might be tricky... or not.
