Should "Featured" weekly events be classified as "Solo" or "Multiplayer" modes??
Getts0388 replied to Getts0388's topic in F1 Chat
@Ultra3142 That is a very valid point. I have a buddy who loves featured events whereas, I hate them. Question two then for you. Should a score be voided if you choose to rerun a featured event as they are when you decide to run another weekly GP event?? -
@Kingsmil Thank you so much. You have made my day now that I know that there is two different GP events I can run this week. Good luck on the the track & thanks again.
-
Can somebody please let me know what the event is this week for F1 2019? Featured, 2019 GP or classic GP event? Also the track?? Only had time to check F1 2020 event before having to leave for work. F1 2020 is a classic GP event at Monaco. I’m just curious if 2019 & 2020 are running identical events/schedules.

Why can't we report players who deliberately take you out because your better than them
Getts0388 replied to dixon12376's topic in F1 Chat
@GenerationRL22 my guess would be that most of the guys who are wrecking people are only worried about winning. They don’t care who they take out. I am more of a person that doesn’t really care about winning, but my overall performance through a 25% race. No offs, no hitting other cars & completing all laps as fast & as clean as possible. I gave up on ranked races a long time ago & won’t be going back to them until I hear that CM has implemented some kind of new penalty system that will properly punish these jerks. Good luck racing & try not to let them bother you. -

@janbonator You are 100% correct on what you said. Anybody who is fast would just down voted for being too fast. In my experience, if I go to pass somebody who has started in front me in a ranked race, they run me off the track as I go to pass them. Then I get ****** off, do whatever I have to do to catch them. Then give them the chrome horn, only to get punished for it. Hence, myself imposed ranked room racing ban. Now I only run weekly events online. As long as I qualify good, get a good start and through the first corner before everyone else, I'm good to go. I always pit late to make sure I always keep the lead. Then the only issue is the backmarkers. Even know they are ghosted, catching them at the wrong time through corners is my only issue. Sometimes they block my site line and I miss my turn in point. I think CM should take a page from GT sport and have ranked races the start every 15 or 20 minutes for 5 lap races and something like every 45 minutes or an hour for 25% races. this way we all know when the next race is going to start. The race should start even if only one real player is in the room and the rest of the field shall be AI controlled cars. Something has to change for both the penalties and how the ranked rooms are populated, even if its bring back inviting friends. Something at least. -
I think we should be given a slider bar for each race. Like if on a race that in real life is 50 laps we should have a slider bar that is broken into 2% sections and we can set it from 1 lap or 2%, 5 laps or 10%, 15 laps or 30% and so on. This can be set for each track. This way we have complete control of the race length. It could even go as high 110% or 115% or more for the endurance racers.

Guys, I'm sorry and I never was trying to be a jerk. I guess my point was that we are currently running weekly events on F1 2020 and the window for making sure that this does not happen to you again with F1 2020 is closing. With every week that goes by, there's that much less time for you to make sure you complete whatever task that is needed to make sure you get 100% of all trophies. That is all that I was trying to say. Good luck and again, I was not trying to be mean but give advice on how to prevents this in the future.

@vujos Both of the games you mentioned above do not have yearly releases as far as I know. This is only a suggestion on how to avoid this in the future. Purchase the outgoing version of the game sooner in it's one year life span. This will give you ample time to collect all the trophy's before CM shuts down the events. If you wait to purchase F1 2020 until days before the F1 2021 is released, you run the risk of having this issue again. I don't think it's fair to keep bombarding @BarryBL over this issue when you probably did not pay full price for the game as most of us did. 99% of us have moved on to F1 2020 by now and there's probably very few people that would run any f1 2019 events. It's better for CM to focus where the majority of us are playing (F1 2020) and getting started on F1 2021. I feel for you but you have to understand that you are extremely late to the table and should not expect there to be food left on the table for you to eat, if you get what I'm trying to say. Again, I'm not trying to bash you but if you paid $65 as I did for the game, I would feel more compassion for you. How much did you pay for F1 2019, full price???

@Poninabox I am at work and cannot be for sure on this but will try and help you with this. Moving the slider to the far right should be increasing that camber. Meaning the tires will be leaning inwards at the tops of the tires and will decrease the tire contact patch during straights which helps increase your straight line speed, less resistance. By doing this you should then be increasing the tire contact patch while turning. My experience is that most people keep these sliders all the way to the right. This however may cause the tires to wear more, I'm not sure. I do know by increasing toe, you will for sure cause the tire wear to go up (slider all the way to the right). Generally, I see that the fastest people in TT mode go with far right for the two camber settings (top two) and far left for the toe settings (bottom two). In closing I would say that having the cambers set to the far right is best for high speed prolonged corners. This is only one dumb mans opinion and I could be wrong on everything I just said. Good luck on the track and may many checkered flags be yours. Hope this helps you.

@Lurtz I don't think it makes any difference when you run the race. It really comes down to how many real player vs. AI controlled cars there is in your race and most importantly, your overall time to complete the entire race. The real player vs. AI controlled car thing affects you at the start and how you get through the lap traffic when you are lapping cars. The AI controlled cars are a little better at getting out of the leaders way, real players seem to not want to heed-way to the leaders. Even know they are ghosted, coming across them at the wrong time can really screw up a lap time. Another big factor is getting a good clean start and getting through the first corner in the lead. I don't see how waiting until the last minute to run a race will make a difference. Better early to have a chance to rerun the race if you screw up or get screwed up during a race. Overall race time is the biggest factor in our scores, so I concentrate on running the clean fast race. I qualified 5th last week and after the first race on Saturday, I was 5th. I was sad to see I dropped to #13 this morning when I checked the final results. I never re-ran the race and should have. I lost 2 or 3 seconds dealing with the backmarkers and could have made the top ten. Again, I don't see an advantage in waiting to run the event. Only a disadvantage, if you screw up. Good luck out on the track and may many checkered flags be yours.

Ultra3142 is absolutely correct, turn off steering and braking assist. Then go with ABS on and TC on (medium I believe its is, can't remember the exact wording may be low). Then just keep trying different people's setups until you find one that works for you. Then fine tune it to your driving style. Having steering and braking assist on completely defeats the purpose of driving the car yourself. With them on the computer is partially driving for you. Most important thing is to just keep practicing. Just doing lap after lap helps with your muscle memory and before you know it, you are going fast and staying on the track with the track limits.
-
Yes, 1,000 points per second. If you lose 55 seconds overall during an event, you lost 55,000 points towards your final score.
-
DrDraken is correct on what he said above. It really becomes muscle memory once you practice enough. If you just keep spinning laps, you won't need the suggested gear anymore, you can feel & hear it when your not in the correct gear. The best thing to do is just keep practicing until you have it memorized and really no longer think about it. Practice + practice + practice = going faster

Guys, If you are talking about problems you are having with F1 2020, you must gone into the forums for it and not the 2019 forums. Also you must fill out & complete an issue form. Please include as much details as possible, videos and screen shots as well. I just trying to help you all get your issue or issues corrected. I don't think CM is going to be looking in the 2019 forum for issues related to F1 2020. I hope you all get your problems resolved and good luck on the track.

It has been a very long time since Codemasters has released a Indy Car Series version of a racing game (2003 I believe). I would love to be able to drive at Indy and Laguna Seca in a current style Indy car, aero-screen & all . CM has done it before and it's time for the series to come back to life. A perfect weekend for me is having all three top NASCAR series, Indy cars andF1 cars all racing on the same weekend. I currently can run all three NASCAR series and F1 races during any said weekend (Pre-Virus/included tracks that is). If I just had a CM Indy Car series game for the PS4, I could run all of them as the real series do. Maybe next year I will be able to run all three on my new PS5??? I sure do miss not letting up on throttle and driving through the corners at Indy.

@squalles your last post made no sense but I assume you were trying to tell me to report my friends that cheat. They don’t. That’s where your problem lies, you play with cheaters. Thank god you & your friends are playing on a PC platform. Would hate to go into a ranked or ever an unranked race with any of you. The facts are in, clearly you stated that you play with cheaters & allowed it to happen. May many checked flags be yours, without cheating that is. Do take care.
-
@squalles PS, in the time it took you to look that up & post it, you could have done the right thing & reported your friend. But you didn’t!!!!!!! There is where the problem lies.
-
@squalles please just remove your last post, it’s not helping anybody. Mostly yourself. Please. Spending it is no way helpful.
-
@squalles this is an F1 community that your are writing in. If you want to be a constructive member, do the right thing. Report your friend so that CM knows what & who to look for. They can’t fix it without the help of the community. No nobody said it’s your job, but the fence is only as strong as it’s weak link. Which is you at this time. Sorry, but you would be helping everyone if you do the right thing. We all play a part no matter how small it might be.
-
@squalles on second thought, you should be given a temporary ban yourself. Maybe then you will learn a lesson on what you should & should NOT say in an open forum. Most of all for your unwillingness to do the right thing. You want to complain, but yet take no responsibility for letting your friend cheat. Nobody wants to race with anybody with your attitude & lack of respect for players who do not cheat. It’s almost like if you see a school full of kids on fire, then calling the fire department to ask them what they are going to do about it but not give the location of the fire. Do u get it now???
-
Yes, I sorry but you started the subject asking what CM is doing, all I was asking is what are you doing about it? The more info CM receives on who is cheating and how they are cheating, the better they can stop it. I was not in any way trying to get under your skin but, you stating that you personally know someone who is cheating, then you need to REPORT THEM. We all have to do our part to help.
-
@squalles You should be sending @BarryBL a private message and reporting your friend for cheating. You are only hurting everyone else by posting that you know someone is cheating and doing nothing about it. Sorry if this seems harsh but, it's up to us to help CM police for these things and to report them so that they can put a stop to it.
-
U can copy anyone’s setup in time trial mode on your system (PS4,Xbox & PC) on the F1 games. Then adjust them to your driving style.
-
@Lakrits i just didn’t see this last year with F1 2019 on the PS4 & I agree with you Mike about there being cheaters this year. I was just trying to say that it might be possible that for some of these guys with awesome scores that it may be the game itself that caused an unearned scores and possibly someone who did not cheat on purpose. I was just trying to be fair. I do feel Mike & you have valid points that CM needs to address.
