F1 2019 I'm so out of my depth....but persevering
Getts0388 replied to Scrogs's topic in General Discussion
No problem. Just make sure u have the “brake assist” off. It’s only messing u up by braking for u. Remember, slow in, fast out. You will get faster as u practice. U can also up the down force with the wings & slowly turn them down as u learn any given track. Good luck. -
F1 2019 I'm so out of my depth....but persevering

There should be a “reset to default” option -
@FOneFanatic im so sorry the Microsoft is doing this to you. I made a decision years ago to ban them from my household. I know I cannot completely get away from them but at any chance I can & given an non-Microsoft option, I take it. I will never buy another Xbox unless Sony quits making PlayStations & there is no other option. If I was you, I would go buy a refurbished ps4 pro to bridge the gap to the ps5 release. Then use that Xbox what it’s good for, a boat anchor!!!

F1 2019 I'm so out of my depth....but persevering
Getts0388 replied to Scrogs's topic in General Discussion
@Scrogs its been years since I have played F1 with my ps4 controller as I switched to a complete sim rig in 2017. However when i was using a PS4 controller I never messed with any of the calibrations for steering, throttle or brakes. If I was u I would put them all back default. Try the assist settings below. Then practice and don’t stop. It will hours of practice but u will start getting faster & faster until u top out & find your limits per your driving style. Then start completely turn off the assist one at a time. brake assist: off TC: medium anti-lock brakes: on gearbox: automatic driving line: full or corners only if u have the brake & TC on full power they are overriding your inputs & driving for you. Once you master the settings above, turn gearbox to manual. Using a manual gearbox helps you slow the car down faster & help you get the car turned into corners & you can short shift to keep rear wheel from spinning. Let us know if you need more help & most of us on here are willing to give you advice. Practice is the most important thing. Good luck & don’t give up, you can do it!!! -
F1 2019 Gets Tough Reviews for Virtual GP Series, but...
Getts0388 replied to dwin20's topic in General Discussion
@dwin20 I’m sorry but I feel you missed some very important facts. 1: nascar ran their virtual series on iracing, not the official licensed video game “nascar heat 3”. 2: Indy ran their virtual series on iracing too, since they have no officially licensed video game. im sorry but I don’t believe in formula E and can’t say what they used for their virtual series. You are comparing apples to oranges. F1 used a “video game”. NASCAR & Indy car used a “simulation” program. It is not fair to compare a $65 a video game to a monthly paid sim program that probably cost far more a year to play then the $65 we pay for a video game. Your comparison is not accurate at all in my opinion. Gas, cash, grass or ass, nobody rides for free! -
Thanks BarryBL. I have my fingers and toes crossed in hopes I get an invite!

Don’t give up when you start turning more assists off. You will get faster with A LOT of practice. As I play on a complete sim chair rig it was easier for me to switch to manual gear box. It is a key thing in getting faster. You can use the downshifts to help turn the car. Practice, practice, practice is key. Speed will come with that.
-
@Dzebas Try this way. It may help you learn how to use the gears to help the car turn. Don't give up if you are having trouble. You will become faster in time with practice. I hope this helps you. Braking Assist: Off Traction control: Med Antilock Brakes: On Dynamic Racing Line: Corners Only Gearbox: Manual ERS Mode: Automatic

@Chris2468 I never said that there was not going to be anymore featured events. Only that at this time of year the frequency that they will be seen will be less and that they are more frequent in the off season. I cannot get you out of the bind you are in with getting this achievement, I can only suggest how to avoid it next year by purchasing F1 2020 earlier in the one year life-cycle of the game. If you just purchased F1 2019, please be patient. I'm sure you will see one at some point. But you need to keep in mind, most of us will be switching to F1 2020 in the next four weeks and leaving F1 2019 behind. Hang in there and may the odds forever be in your favor!

Canada circuit missing distance markers before chicane
Getts0388 replied to Sir_Overtakesalot's topic in General Discussion
@Mike5500 Try drawing them on you screen with a sharpie!!!!! I think peanutt2000 is correct though. They may be smaller and hung on the left fence. If my memory serves me right. -
@Chris2468 As I stated in my previous post on this subject, featured events are more frequent during the off season. We are getting deep into then original F1 2020 schedule (attached below) and have very few off weekends. Also, this is the "Multiplayer" section of the game. Most of us want to race real people and not the AI. The chances of having a featured event drop a lot during the season. If you purchased F1 2019 after the start of the 2020 season, almost a year has gone by since F1 2019 was released. There has been 16 featured events over that period, which was plenty of chances for you guys to clear this achievement. I'm sorry if I seem harsh, but you coming to the table to late in the one year life cycle of the Codemasters F1 series. My best suggestion is not to wait until the F1 2021 season starts to purchase F1 2020. There's about two more off weekends left before the release of F1 2020. After that F1 2019 will be collecting dust along with my copies of F1 2016, 2017 & 2018. I do wish you good luck in completing this task. I do understand how you feel when you want to complete something and can't.

@andry9611 I went through and looked back at all my trophy's. If you count this past weeks Baku GP. Since the release for F1 2019 I have 33 "GP" trophies and 16 "featured events" trophies. They lump the regular and classic GP's together. Even if you said 17 regular GP's + 16 classic GP's + 16 featured events, you get 49 total events. I may have missed a few in the year that F1 2019 has been out. I feel Codemasters has done a good job in giving us a equal amount of each of the three types of events. Please keep in mind that this is the "multiplayer" section of the game. Most of us join the weekly GP's so that we can race against real people and not the AI. I feel that Codemasters gives us the featured events to fill up the winter off time when there is no racing. The last featured event was the first week of April, if that helps you out any.

I made the Top 10 in Baku....Holy **** lol (PS4)
Getts0388 replied to Sir_Overtakesalot's topic in General Discussion
@Mike5500 Good job on the P8 for The Baku weekly event. I have sent a request to the Canadian PM that he create a holiday named after you! If you keep this up, you might find a bounty on your head similar to the Kyle Busch bounty. I would be willing to give someone part or all off 99,999 F1 2019 credits I have to take you out of the next GP. I just messing with you buddy. Good job and I am proud to have you on my friends list. Keep it up! -
@andry9611 I sorry that you haven't been able to complete this achievement. I think what you should be asking Codemasters to do is move the "featured" events to "Solo" mode and take in out of "Multiplayer" mode. Then run a "featured" event every week in "solo" mode. Then in multiplayer mode give us a GP or classic GP. The featured event should never be at the same track as a GP during any given week. This way they are completely independent from each other. After all, when racing an "featured" event, you are running against the AI. This is not multiplayer then. I feel the complete opposite of how you feel, I find the "featured" events boring. I already know how I am compared to the AI. I want to race against other real people to find out how good or bad I may be compared to them. I know I have told you this before, I'm sure there will be a featured event in the near future on an "off" weekend for F1. Hang in there, you will get your chance.

F1 2020 Deluxe Schumacher Pre-order Early Release Access
Getts0388 replied to Getts0388's topic in General Discussion
@BarryBL Thank very much for the response. I kinda figured that I would have to double check while at Gamestop paying for my preorder. Since I am stuck at work all day and want to get home ASAP to practice before I qualify Baku weekly event (with a cold beer), I will call there at noon today to see what I can find out. I will post what they tell me here once I speak to someone at Gamestop. I could also switch to plan B. Which is buy it as a digital download and buy a hard copy later for archives. I just hate putting data on my external HDD. I'm afraid it will fail on me. Thanks again for the response and everything you do for us. -
F1 2020 Deluxe Schumacher Pre-order Early Release Access
Getts0388 replied to Getts0388's topic in General Discussion
@FlyingDutch020 Yeah, I would be so ****** off if I took the day off and had to wait for it to be delivered or maybe not. This is another reason I prefer buying a hard copy. I can be at Gamestop when they open the doors on release day. It's just sad that they are opening up at noon instead of 10am due to the Corona-virus. -
F1 2020 Deluxe Schumacher Pre-order Early Release Access
Getts0388 replied to Getts0388's topic in General Discussion
@BarryBL Thanks. Plus I have to schedule the correct vacation day of from work. For the past two years I have taken the F1 release day off and plan on doing so again this year. -
@BarryBL Will "Weekly Events" be following the original 2020 F1 schedule or the revised 2020 F1 schedule? Also, since F1 2020 will be released just as the 2020 season is starting will both 2019 and 2020 versions of the game be following "original" or "revised" F1 2020 schedules? I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for an reply with an answer.
-
Guys, Please keep in mind that the weekly events follow the F1 schedule. We only will see "classic" & "featured" events on weeks the F1 is not scheduled to run. During the season the chances of seeing a "featured" event drop drastically. The odds are much higher during the winter or off season. There is still some off weekends ahead in the schedule and Codemaster probably will give you a chance to complete this task. I would have to go back and look at my trophy's to check and see how many "featured" events we have had since F1 2019 has been released almost a year ago. I'm pretty sure we have had about 10 or more over the winter. Good luck with getting this achievement completed.

Weekly Events and Revised F1 2020 Schedule
Getts0388 replied to Getts0388's topic in General Discussion
@BarryBL Thank you for the fast reply. I guess I will find out the hard way on somewhere around Monday July 13th. Thanks again! -
I have my buttkicker connected to my “open wheeler” sim chair rig gear shifter “L” bracket connected to my ps4. I only play F1 2019 so I know it works with it. It gave me back the vibration feeling I was missing since I ditched my ps4 controller for a sim chair setup. It makes a difference to me. I sometimes forget to turn on & after a few laps I realize something doesn’t feel right. Once I turn it on, it helps feel when my rear tires are losing grip. To me having the buttkicker is a awesome addition & gives me an added dimension to my playing. Hope this helps.

Sorry but I do not agree. The featured events are like "respawns" in COD and that's why I quit playing shooter games. When you are dead you are "dead! I like the way the GP's are now, limited practice, penalty for requalifying and the "race rules" is where my issue is. First off the guys who jump the start should be ghosted right away and only un-ghost once they serve a 30 second penalty in their pit box, with no work preformed on their car during this 30 seconds. I have too many times had someone jump the start, then come to a stop in the first corner and take me out or hold me up. Most of the time since they don't ghost and have the lead due to jumping the start, when I go to pass them for the lead, they crash into me and take me out. The kicker here is, then they quit the race. Which leads me to my next rule change If you enter a weekly event race, you must complete the entire race. If you quit for any reason included terminal damage you are put in with a bunch of other quitters the next race. The only way to get out of the quitters gulag is complete a freaking race. I'm all for them adding featured events that run at the same time as the GP's but I feel they should be at a different tracks than the GP. I put a lot of time into my own practice plan every week when we have GP's running. If you feel you need more practice then 90 minutes we get each week, you are free to run time trails, signal player GP's, unranked rooms with long practice sessions for the multiplayer car use.

@MisterTimP the car handling model is completely different when comparing single player vs the multiplayer cars. Just because u find a fast setup in TT mode with any manufacturer doesn’t mean you’ll be as fast when playing multiplayer. You have to set them up differently to suit your driving style.
-
@Degnan no. Codemasters follows the F1 schedule. Since Monaco is the next scheduled race for next week, Codemasters will give us a Monaco gp next week. The featured & classic gp’s are usually on weeks with no real race scheduled. Not sure what Codemasters will due when we start racing for real again since the original schedule will be changed.
-
@Degnan i have not had a chance to log on yet today but if they are doing a Russia gp this week, next week will be a Monaco gp so that will leave the week of May 25 to May 31 as the best chance for u to see a featured event. I personally don’t like them as I prefer the regular gp’s & classic gp’s.
