Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve A.I issue

@Flufydestroyer What are you playing on Console or PC??? -
@Mike5500 i agree with u that the time at which the rain starts should be the same every race so that is the same for every player to be fair. Just to let u know, I believe that the time it takes to complete all 14 laps is the biggest part of points u earn for a race. The faster u complete the entire race the higher ur points will be. I have had events this weekend when it starts to rain on lap 3/4 & I switch to wets early and have 9/10 slow laps with one pit stop. I’ve also had it start rain on lap ten & I had to pit twice. Once at lap 5 for meds & pit again on lap 11 for intermediates. I have seen people try & do the late rain races with one stop. Starting on sifts & trying to finish on hards. As of last nite I was in the top 150 (ps4) with the two stop strategy. However I waited too long to switch to intermediates & spun out trying to get back to the pits for wets. Will retry today until I get a race with late rain, 2 stop strategy with no spins, no offs and no penalties. With my spin & front wing damaged (lost 8 secs replacing it) I know I lost almost 20 secs on my total time. This is a big points loss. I finished this race 1.5 secs behind 1st place & came in second. Had I not spun I would have won the race. PS, there is no set points scale that I no of, changes with each race I guess. U need to run a fast clean race with as many assists off u can for max points.

I am a wheel user and I feel wheel users like me have a HUGE disadvantage when it comes to pads users on street courses. The amount of time that it takes for me to move my wheel from far left to far right takes so much more time then on a pad. This even applies to pedals too. With the short throw distance a pad has to be hurting my lap times. There is 23 corners at Singapore, if I’m loosing time in every corner, I’m screwed. I’m last weeks “classic weekly event” I could setup a offline GP at 110 & still be gapping the rest of the field. When I setup a offline GP at Singapore I’m the one who’s being lapped. I have to turn down the AI a lot. Too embarrassed to say how much. Anybody else seeing this too or is it just me??? Now I’m starting to think wheel users & pad users should be separated in weekly events, ranked races & TT or at least identified so we know who’s using what.

@Speedy862 so you are saying that the game is programmed to slow down the steering reaction time when a pad is used??? Which I can believe. It would so hard to catch it when your rear tires are stepping out on you if a pad reacted so fast. I also have had some trouble with over-heating my tires with my wheel/ car setup. Sorry if I caused anybody to get upset but my mind just got to thinking about how much more time it takes me to turn my wheel compared to pad. Thanks for your input too, it is appreciated.

@sloppysmusic thank you for your support & feedback.

@smudger1982 I appreciate your feedback but my point is more towards a simple math equation. Full left to full right on a pad is like an inch to an inch & a half. Full left to full right on my thrustmaster T—GT wheelbase with Ferrari F1 wheel is something like 10 or 12 inches of distance. It comes down to time over distance. It takes me much longer to travel from full left to full right then with a pad. Since I am an electrical engineer, my minds starts to wonder if the “travel time” between the two is a problem for me on street courses, time wise. Now go to Monza, much less corners so I don’t see the “travel time” an issue here. Now I do have more precise control of my steering input here & can get in & out of corners on my preferred line. I’m just wondering if wheel users are at a disadvantage street courses????

This week's Featured Event is broken
Getts0388 replied to Balazsryche's topic in Technical Assistance
@Balazsryche try turning it up to 85. That seemed to help me with the same issue. I have now moved up to 90 & it still is working without all the yellow flags. -
@IndioTakuli the only other way I know to practice with multiplayer car is to setup a unranked race to the settings u want. I set it to have a 90 practice session & restart it if I go through the entire 90 minutes. This is one of the things we are asking for in F1 2020, being able to use multiplayer car in TT. Good luck out there.

@RPMazing i haven't tried ranked 2019, I gave up during ranked 2018 cause nobody knows how to races clean. I hear if u stick with it long enough & get a good driver rating the odds of finding a clean race go up. I only race the weekly events & esports events online. The trick is to qualify good, get a good start & hope u get thru the first corner before the big pile up. You have to get real lucky no matter what, everyone seems to think they can win the race in the first corner & are not willing to give a little to save their car. Hope this helps & good luck out there. Oh yeah run 25% races too, 5 loppers are too short.
