I’d love Finland, narrowed a foot, with the new physics.

I don’t really agree. I think when the guys are setting the physics model, they have to consider an element of accessibility. We’re not all Seb Loeb, so the game allows for that. From what I have seen of the current engine, they can pretty much do whatever they like with it. One of the test-builds we tried had the car making a little boy out of me in an accurate way. I couldn’t confidently push it hard enough to be within 70% of its limit or capabilities. It had more grip and more brake power than I could use, but without feeling heavy or glued to the road. It was awesome - that is all....

Closer to DR isn’t doing it the justice it deserves. Remember when you first played DR and thought, damn, this is too hard. But you played a bit more and it started to make sense and after a while, you loved it? Its like being used to DR as your benchmark, but starting that process all over again. You’ll think ‘damn, that’s too hard’, but then it’ll make perfect sense and you’ll love it B)

If the road was tarmac, it could be the Ulster Rally!!

Ultimately, anything that slightly changes how you need to drive the stage you are sure to end up memorising, is a great thing in a Rally game. Stop acting like spoilt kiddies lol

Would you like salt & vinegar with that Hat? ;)

Tuthill Porsche is literally 10 minutes down the road from Prodrive. They could do old and new in the same day Yes, just 10 mins away. Reality is, they don't have any cars to record that aren't customers cars. Which is why we went elsewhere. It's all so simple eh. “Could” being the key word, assuming permission and availability. You seem quite frustrated. Perhaps that would confirm that you are having to use the 80’s sounds for the RGT car and the 80’s car won’t actually feature...? Na, not frustrated, I'm just blunt like that ;) You did make it sound so easy though, Kev. Also, we don't record at workshops, most cars need to be transported to a track or runway. To summarise the context - Madhun suggested the RGT wouldn’t be hard to seek out as they are all over Spain & Europe? I was referring to possible subjects perhaps being available a little closer to home, NOT belittling the work you do when you do actually manage to find one.... ...or to be blunt - did you bother to read what you were replying to??? :P

So you reckon it’s in? I’m not so sure. Of course it’s specific and rare. It’s still a Porsche flat 6 boxer engine though and more importantly - available to record. The guy just said Tuthill had nothing in an RGT

I enjoyed WRC 7 a lot and defended the game lots on here, but you are right in what you are saying. You had to ‘learn’ how to drive it. The steering and feedback were random to say the least DR2, like the original DiRT Rally, is very intuitive. It’s natural. You can pick up and play. What helps massively, is the forces in the FFB system that both the DiRT Rally games use. You can feel the car movements and the movements really are on the money

Just stop using the trainer and you’ll be fine

That lad bores the tits off me.... so unenthusiastic

That would be a Citroen

Kexchoklad? I’m intrigued... sounds better than ‘Breakaway’ lol

well, define what you mean with support. i personally never said that i dont want this game to succeed. i support its development. but i wont buy it until it offers the stuff it needs before i can enjoy it. for some of us vr is as important as wheel support. you have to see it like this. would you buy the game if it had only keyboard support without knowing if it would ever get wheel/gamepad support? thats how important vr is for me personally. i simply cant enjoy any racing sim without vr support anymore so it doesnt make sense to spend money on it. why would i buy something i simply woudlnt even be playing a single minute? every single minute i would spend with dr2 on a screen i could spend in any other sim of choice with vr and have a way more enjoyable time. you wouldnt drive dr2 with a keyboard when you had the choice of dr1, dirt4, iracing rallycross, rbr or whatever with proper wheelsupport and ffb right? thats how important it is for me. saying that we dont buy it without vr is not badmouthing. its just giving our opinion. I wouldn’t buy a 4-cylinder Porsche. I believe the car should still have a 6 cylinder engine like the last ones have had. I wont buy Breakaway bars from they changed the recipe last year. I believe the Breakaway should still taste like it used to. I don’t waste time complaining all over the Internet that things should be different for me to buy things I used to like. Iv never posted a complaint to Porsche, or McVities or wherever, I just stay well clear of the keyboard and don’t buy what I don’t want. It’s that easy. if things change, I’m here waiting. Cash in hand...

I genuinely think the team are cautious after DiRT 4. They’ll see how well the customers support them with 2.0 and plan a future strategy based on demand. Why invest time and resources into something that isn’t making profit targets. That’s what it’s all about after all. If you want to see the game get VR support, support the game. By bad-mouthing it all over the Internet, you are effectively damaging your chances of ever having the very thing that you want! Wish the guys well and be patient. Some day, all your dreams will come true! B)

It’s pre-alpha. They’ll tweak all that no doubt. Easy fix in the polishing phase

Sorry, iv been really busy today and only getting to reading now! My preference of car type is RWD. That driving style tends to carry over for me to AWD. When testing AWD over the past while, I have been having a right laugh. You can set an AWD up for a corner 20 meters before it with a big flick. By the apex, you can be on opposite lock and looking through your windscreen fully at the trees on the inside of the corner and arc nicely out into a four wheel drift on corner exit. It doesn’t feel like chucking the game car in an attempt to replicate what a four wheel drift looks like. You do actually feel in control and feel like you drive the slide. Pre-DiRT 4, I posted the famous incar of McRae going through a Welsh stage lock to lock in the Focus and said ‘if the physics aren’t like this, start again’ - it seems they did this time!! B)

Not long to wait now!! The embargo is fast expiring!

Somewhere in the world, it’s monday now. Wonder if we have any early/leaked info yet? :p Ps. Reading here and there all over Google, This it probably already the most controversial topic in gaming at present. Everywhere you look, the VR-heads are posting everywhere. The great thing is, for every VR complaint there is, there’s an equally passionate player defending the game to the hilt! WHEN Codies get the core work done and finally announce the VR implementation, they’ll be the Hero’s of the Internet lol

My experience says you're going to enjoy this one ;) Are you one of the guys who got beta acess already? If yes When will you be able to talk about your experience? Technically we were/are on a handling test. We can talk a little about our impressions, i don't think anything specific though. I think one of the biggest concerns is can you properly slide a car? In DR sliding an RWD car felt great, in D4 RWD's felt terrible. All I want to know is it closer to DR or D4 in that regard? Rear wheel drive in D4 was just plain wrong. Where they are at now with RWD for 2.0, will probably make the RWD from DiRT Rally feel a bit ‘lame’? B)
