    2020 FIA World Rally Championship

https://wrcwings.wordpress.com/2017/11/08/toyota-yaris-wrc-first-tests-for-2018/# < great blog that concludes changes in aero. Hyundai Monte test car seems to have same updates that Neuville had in Wales + new mirrors. Toyota is going for more downforce in front. Interesting to see if M-Sport is going with the same package they had last year (meaning, they hit the nail on the head last year) or there's something going on in the Ford Performance windtunnels. Also, what's up with Citroen ?

That's what i ment, 4th rented car. Why are you so sure there won't be Yaris R5? They had plans before, and with the commitment to WRC there's no reason to doubt in R5 project. Not next year, but why not 2019? Also there has been rumors that new logistic-base in Estonia will do the R5 development.

Tideman will have his chance I hope. There's no one else in WRC2 who deserves it more. I'm thinking M-Sport will have Evans - Sunninen + who ever and Tideman in some events with 4th car. WRC2 is growing a lot in 2019 - Fiesta, C3, i20, Fabia and joingin Polo, Iriz and Yaris. When was the last time 7 factory teams in WRC ? That's propaply same car that was racing in TipCars Pražský Rallysprint 2017 by Dohnal Jan and Ernst Michal https://www.ewrc-results.com/carinfo/69-ford-fiesta-wrc-17/?spz=3763 . Stunning livery imo. LOVE IT!

If Ogier stays with M-Sport, it will be between him and Neuville and maybe Latvalas (his last chance) for championship. 2018 will be difficult for Ott, new car and no setups from last year, even though he's brilliant with engineers, i'm not hoping for much.

I'm so happy for M-Sport! Well deserved titles and win on their home rally! Also Dmack - they got what have been robbed from them before :)

Evans is the one to beat in Wales, afaik DMack brought special tire for this event :) I'm predicting all M-Sport podium, but I wish Ott and Thierry could close cap with Seb, championship decisive  last round would be great end for this awesome year :)

https://www.facebook.com/voiceofrally/videos/831574633671868/ Colin Clarck and David Evans interviewed Seb. Intresting and quite open talks,  not as arrogant and bossy as many think he is. Horrible sound quality thou  :/

Ogier doesn't have that many options, I'm quite sure he'll stay in M-Sport, as money from Ford will increase.  Ogier - Evans - Sunninen (DMack) will make great lineup once again. Going against:  Latvala - Tänak - Lappi  Neuville - Mikkelsen - Sordo/Paddon Meek - Breen - Lefebrev/Loeb

Paddon broke suspension twice in Finland, but both were result of an accidents, no one could survive thous hits. Hyundai had power steering issues in the first half of season with every car, but it's fixed now. I guess they have issues only with tarmac suspension, can't remember that they had similar troubles on gravel events.  Best way to describe Ogier in this year - To finish first, you have to finish first. I'm quite sure we'll see new champion in next year.

    2020 FIA World Rally Championship

Estonian media had their own kitchen talk over the lineups and there was this theory. Citroen's main sponsor Abu Dhabi wouldn't allow Red Bull commercials on the same car (because of some old beef), that means Ogier is basically blocked by his personal sponsor. That leads us to Hyundai- this years lineup hasn't performed good enough and is pursuing Ogier too. Knowing that Seb can't go Citroen, Hyundai cut's the offer down for couple of millions. Mr. Wilson hears this and asks Ogier to wait a bit more, because Ford is definitely increasing the support, it's just not certain how much. Some of money from WRX program will go to M-Sport WRC division for sure. I'm quite sure Tänak wouldn't like another year in the team, where only first driver will have all the new parts on the car, so he'll sign for Toyota for safe bet.

    2020 FIA World Rally Championship

It is impossible that all 3 drivers goes to another team, they don't have place to go, just one place in Toyota and one place in Citroen. Also MW said that he will retain 2 of his drivers, also Tanak and Evans has contract for the next season in M-Sport, so other teams would need to pay to end the contract, everyone is far too pessimistic with M-Sport Where did the Evans to Toyota rumors started? Finish and Estonian media speculates over Tänak and Toyota. This story is supported by Markko Märtin relations with Toyota - their young Japanese stars are driving with his team. Also Toyota will have support base in Estonia including R5 development. Only scenario when I can see Evans in Toyota is the same @Fedemaisonnave mentioned above. M-Sport has the strongest line up atm - he can't keep them all, I guess Ogier and Tänak are both leaving and Evans will be no.1 driver for next year, Sunninen and one pay-driver will support his title chase. They wound't win titles, but it's decent line-up. Ott mentioned, that M-Sport will have enough know-how to build competitive car for next year, but he told how they have budget to fail-check only one car. Tänak has contract with M-Sport til end of the 2017, after that he's free agent.

    2020 FIA World Rally Championship

Ott Tänak had an AMA session in local media on Tuesday. Some interesting parts from it: * He studied his mentor Markko Märtin note writing for world series (Ott notes are partly in Estonian and partly in English as it gives more flow. * He had nice words for Meek - great driver with lots of bad luck in this year. * Comments about  WRX - he has tested Focus WRX, impressive and quick car, but he doesn't like the battles in rallycross and prefers rally driving. He also mentioned that this years Solbergs VW is almost identical to the VW Polo WRC 2016, with more power. *  M-Sport has been pushing a lot more this year - even thou previous years they have been trying to use parts what they got, this season Ogiers car has been priority and Tänaks car has usually old parts. * New R5 cars has nearly as much torque  as the last seasons WRC cars. * Issue when the back aero broke off the car was fixed after Mads incident in Sweden, but some how his car didn't had that upgrade in Poland. * He has tested different WRC cars previous years, but he didn't mentioned which ones.  * He's thankful that Ogier has been his teammate for this year. There were questions about the next seasons and lineups, but he gave no real answers. BUT every time he spoke about Sebastian or M-Sport, it wasn't 'us the M-Sport' but more like 'them as M-Sport' or in past sentence. Same goes for comment about Ogier - he like's that Ogier WAS his teammate.

Who knows how much Monte incident shook Paddon for the rest of the season. I mean, the spectator was in so wrong and stupid place, that with all my condolences to his family, it was still mostly 'natural selection'. I can't see how anyone could blame Hayden. Mikkelsen had even worse fatal accident at the beginning of his career, but he recovered. Never the less, Paddon's luck has been misarbel this year, but with the mistakse he made and with no progression on tarmac, If Paddon would drive in M-Sport he would be in WRC2 in 2018 season for sure.  1. Monte - unfortunate accident on SS1 and retired from rally. 2. Swede - power steering failure, had some great stage times before that (once 2nd fastest, and  couple of top4 times), finished 7th +5:31.2 off the lead 3. Mexico - mechanical issues on the first day, then small mistake with puncture on second day and technical issues again on the last day (one 3rd fastest time from SS), finished 5th +3:32.9 off the lead. 4. Tour de Corse - still strugeling on tarmac, finished 6th +2:16.3 off the lead. 5. Argentina - roll on the first long stage SS2 and damaged his car. After mid day service he had joint best time with Evans and won one another. on 2nd day he just drive trough, but took two 3rd times from stages. 3rd day again technical issues, overall 6th +7:42.7 off the lead. 6. Portugal - 1st day great pace, but el. issues with the car, 2nd day decent pace, but power steering failure, 3rd day great drive, with one small spun. Tactical retirement from the event, he was around ~30th place with loss around +40min to the lead. 7. Italy - had brilliant start and led the rally, then retired on ss13 thanks to stupid mistake. 3rd day started off good, but had another accident on power stage and retired the rally.  8. Poland - Slow and steady on the first day, better on the 2nd and 3rd day, slowly crawled to 2nd place, best rally for him so far. 2nd place +1:23.9 off the lead. 9. Finland - Started off with great pace, but broke suspension twice in two days and had accident on the last stage and retired from the event. 10. Germany - Another tarmac event and another struggle from Paddon, two punctures, but had some 2nd best times from stages, finished as best the Hyundai driver on 8th place  +4:32.4 off the lead. edit: https://twitter.com/HartusvuoriWRC/status/905455360831565824

Could it be that Sordo and Paddon are sharing the seat next year?  Ford Evans, Sunninen and Camille/Mads Hyundai Neuville,Mikkelsen and Sordo/Paddon Citroen Ogier, Meek, Breen Toyota Latvala, Tänak, Lappi

Yes, there was. Germany, too. Ok, I realy can't make a difference between them. I had a try and on a Portugal (?) stage with 2017 Hyundai. Awful wheel setup, semi-auto gears, but the stage looked nice, not too wide. Drivable  game, acrade for sure, but felt better than WRC5 or SLRE, though I've had limited game time with both of the games.

    2020 FIA World Rally Championship

I guess, it's time for lineup gossip then... My predictions as follows: 1. M-Sport (no Ford support) Ogier- price tag too big for Citroën and Toyota will choose Tänak, who's younger and locatad near to the Toyota HQ. Evans- storys goes that he already has a contract. Sunninen  2. Toyota Latvala Tänak Lappi  3. Hyundai Neuville  Paddon - last year to show his true pace and progression on tarmac Sordo - I don't think both of them will be replaced, but retirament will be soon. 4. Citroën Mikkelsen Breen Lefebre/Leob/Meek - will share the seat

I've said it before, I wouldn't mind if Ogier wins this year - Mr. Wilson deserves it. Great mature drive from Ott, the hope for the title is still alive.

What an event it was :) I drove through Ounipohja reversed stage today, the one we have in Dirt Rally is easy mode compared to the real one :o Mad respect to the drivers.  BTW, I visited a pizza place in Jyväskylä yesterday and just had to order kebab pizza :D
