M-Sport engine problems so far have been electrical  and that's understandable, if you are building cars at their speed. In Mexico we'll see how reliable they really are - over heating hasn't been real issue in last two events.  I feel sorry for Meek and Citroën but never the less, Meek shouldn't push that much if it was that bad. Just get it trough and take the points you are able to. Look at Evans with DMack - no where near the top times, but he's 7p form 3rd place in championship standings.

@KickUp : have you been able to fix ALT+F4 abuse for club/league events?

It's really impressive, why can't every developer be like this.

@KickUp Will VR support depends only on PSVR success? I'm concerned that most of the VR players (including myself) are playing on PC and for now I feel that my Rift is waste of money. Only bought it for DR and it's successor and just can't see myself playing racing games on monitor anymore.

There was deadline for homologate the car, but there's no limit for sign up for rallies. Polo 2017 is homologated, if someone brings enough money to the table, VW will sign it up. There's a price for everything, rumor has it it's 10m $ per car in this case.

You dont need tu be Manufacturer in order to compete, if you are Manufacturer you are compromised to do every rally of the calendar. For example DMack WRT would not compete with his own team in Monte Carlo, but Elfyn Evans will compete with DMack tires in M-Sport team. And Nasser will not start in MC if he finance VW campaign,  that's why VW didn't appear.  From FIA WRC 2017 Sporting Regulations: 4. CARS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER WRC RALLIES - World Rally Cars, complying with the 2017 Appendix J, Art. 255A, when entered by a Manufacturer. - World Rally Cars homologated before 31.12.2013, complying with homologation extension 100/01 KSR and its WR extension, and with the 2013 Appendix J, Art. 255A. Only WRC cars with an FIA passport issued before 31/12/2016 are allowed. - World Rally Cars homologated as from 01.01.2014, complying with homologation extension 200/01 WRC and with the 2016 Appendix J, Art. 255A. Only WRC cars with an FIA passport issued before 31/12/2016 are allowed. - World Rally Cars homologated as from 01.01.2015, complying with homologation extension 300/01 WRC and with the 2016 Appendix J, Art. 255A. Only WRC cars with an FIA passport issued before 31/12/2016 are allowed. - S2000 cars conforming to the 2013 Appendix J, Art. 254A and Art.255A. - Group A Kit Cars with a corrected cylinder capacity of less than 1600cc. - Group RGT cars conforming to the 2017 Appendix J, Art. 256. - Group R cars (R1/R2/R3/R3T/R3D) conforming to the 2017 Appendix J, Art. 260 and 260D. - Group R4 cars conforming to the 2017 Appendix J, Art. 260 (not eligible in Europe). - Group R5 cars conforming to the 2017 Appendix J, Art. 261. - Group A cars with a corrected cylinder capacity of up to 2000cc conforming to the 2017 Appendix J, Art. 255. - Group N cars conforming to the 2017 Appendix J, Art. 254 IMHO VW Polo could still start after MC. VW will enter the car, but the team will be paid by Qatar or RB and will be named by the main sponsor. This is how Mads will compete with 2017 cars.

he can still change the car turning the season. There are still rumors for Qatar VW Polo 2017 starting in Sweden. Which makes sence, because Nasser is competing in Dakar, so he'll miss Monte anyways. About Red Bull, they are sponsoring both Nasser (althou in Dakar) and Mikkelsen, mostly they (RB) care about winning and if Polo is capable car, I can't see why they can't back it :)

Colin is refering to similar look of the cars and both are piloted by Estonians, Focus 2003 are driven by Markko Märtin.

I would go Hänninen & Tänak for 1. and 2. car. No point to let Hännin go, he has the most experience with the car. Tänk could go for a win in Poland. Later when 3rd car is ready Sunninen/Lappi/Tideman, they can get familiar with the car and would be good start up for 2018 season.

Toyota & Tommi are talking with Tänak, Evans and WRC2 front runners. "I can tell you the names: there is Elfyn, there's Ott Tanak, Esapekka Lappi, Teemu Suninen and the young comer is Pontus Tidemand," said Makinen  http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/125608/toyota-closing-on-2017-driver-lineup?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

It should be this moment, 3:30 Ott says puncture. He was only 0.1s slower on 3 wheels than Mads on that stage.  Also some news about Ford 2017 WRC is here: https://translate.google.ee/translate?hl=et&sl=es&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.revistascratch.com%2Fwrc%2Fnoticia%2Fm-sport-se-prepara-para-2017-con-interrogantes-33271 What is interesting that there's no mentioning about Mads or Ott testing new car.

Unfortunately yes, this years fight for no. 1 is done. On tarmac events Ogier has big advantage, as he is starting first. And he's almost unbeatable there. 2017 should be much different story, new cars and the new generation (Tänak, Paddon, Mikkelsen) has gained valuable experience. Not to mention Meek rejoining the party :)

If nothing goes wrong 19s lead is enough for Tänak. Padding vs Mikkelsen and Latvala vs Ogier will be battling tomorrow. Ogier real speed can be seen on the 2nd pass of the stages. ~20s differences is really hard to catch up in this kind of high speed rally.
