Bear in mind, the sound that you heard through the TV cameras isn't exactly how the cars sound in the cockpit. CM have mics onboard the cars during winter testing, so the sound that CM is recorded directly. Modders will use rips of broadcast audio. @PJTierney will be able to give more info on this. There is now a "broadcast mix" option in the settings for those that would prefer this sound, personally I don't as I like to drive cockpit and like that this is closer to how the engine sounds to the driver.

Ah, if only I'd known this a few years ago. I've been manually doing my in/out laps (as opposed to using the "flying lap" and "Return to garage" options) in career mode and always set the fuel to lean thinking that it would be better for engine wear. I guess that it will save me time for my 2020 gameplay

This @BarryBL. I appreciate and understand that there has been a snag in getting this out, but I'd really appreciate it if you could let us know what is expected in 1.02 so we don't waste effort logging bugs that have already been fixed.

Probably the best overall game, quite possibly the worst release. I understand that the current pandemic has no doubt had an effect, so hopefully over the next few weeks the big issues are sorted, but the game is crashing far too often on Xbox for me to enjoy it. In fairness to Codies, they supported 2019 pretty much until the release of 2020 so I have faith that they'll do the same this time around too.

It's so annoying. This was also the case on 2019. You learn to ignore it but definitely an issue. FYI, I'm on Xbox One X

@BarryBL a genuine question re VIP pass. Let's say that I haven't been able to purchase VIP yet due to some missing coins. I've progressed to level 5 of the free tier, when I purchase VIP, will that unlock all the items that I would've earned?

Apologies if this is the wrong section, as I'm not overly familiar with F2, I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. In the F2 sprint race, is it common for teams to pit for a tyre change? I've started a career doing a full F2 season. Feature race was a nightmare and finished 19th pitting 3 times, meaning I had to use my medium tyre that was being saved for the sprint race. Started the sprint race 19th on my couple of laps old medium tyres and managed a couple of overtakes. Halfway through the race I noticed that people had started pitting and slowly found myself 1st without overtaking anyone else. Managed to hold on to the lead with my worn tyres for the race win. Turned out the entire field pitted except me.

Ok, the results are in... Absolutely no difference at all. Exactly the same acclaim level (6), exactly the same starting money ($300k), exactly the same starting resource points (2,750), exactly the same market value ($2m), exactly the same contract length (132d) and exactly the same driver perks (none). So despite the hype and dispite the fact that it even says "How you perform will affect how you are viewed in Formula 1." on each of the ****** experiences, there is naff all difference in how you perform. I'm severely disappointed in this. @BarryBL please tell me this is a bug and NOT by design!?

I've just started a test. Doing the F2 taster series twice. 1st test I'm going to crash out every session and 2nd I'm going to win each session. Both times will be 5 laps, 0% AI. Both times choosing the Merc drivers academy, Carlin as the team and no commenting every question from Claire. The only variable will be performance. I'll report back after.

Agree. This is the third F1 game that I've pre-ordered in as many years. Definitely the worst release. I've even considered requesting a refund and picking it up at a later date, but the handling has saved it. As you said, the beta was fairly solid. But there just seems to be so many issues that should have been picked up by the internal QA team. I'm giving some leeway given that the current pandemic situation which has no doubt had an impact on CMs development, but that goodwill will only last so long.

Sadly, I think micro transactions are here to stay in any AAA games, purely because of the cost to develop them, plus any license fees. The cost of games have barely gone up in price since the PS1 days compared to other entertainment media. I remember new games were RRP at £39.99, now £54.99, given inflation that is a minor increase. There are plenty of articles on this, but this one gives a good breakdown https://techraptor.net/gaming/features/cost-of-gaming-since-1970s So taking the above in considering, like it or not, studios/publishers option to pay the higher dev costs (obviously while still trying to make a profit, after all they're still a business) is to sell more content via micro transactions. The fact that Codies have done this on purely cosmetic items, while still giving you the ability to earn these via normal gameplay, is a big plus in my book.

I love the handling, the AI is better (but still don't get out of the way in quali when they're on an outlap but you're on a Hotlap). But there are too many issues for me to say that I can love this game. Too many random crashes, too many glitches and bugs, no pitcoins, absolute waste of time F2 series in career as has no bearing on F1 career like advertised.

It was in the beta but it was bugged. The MFD header was being controlled by the On Screen Display setting, not the MFD header one. I logged a report and it was tagged as resolved in a future iteration. Guess that meant just removing the option all together.
