    Unlapping during SC

Pole needs to be in the actual F1 forums not here as nobody reads these. Well noone meaning maybe 50 people in a month as opposed to 40,000!

    Pit lane starts

For sure but if you mean this for the F1 game you'd be better putting this in the f1 Gen discussion itself as that's where most people read it. In fact hardly any F1 members even come here its actually my first time lol.

    Project cars 2

I'd be getting it release day probably which is rare for me. Reason being a did a ton of tuning for pcars 2 and I'm hoping the cars retain the same connection between setups and handling so I can use them again or at least update them. I plan to run a series of videos with tunes for a car in each class as I wrote a detailed thread for project cars 2 but never made videos to show them in action.
  5. Catching up on news here as have been busy with the F1 forums for a while. I forgot this game existed but I remember now this is the one Alonso helped with? Does the game require a constant connection to the internet to work? I have a multitude of hardware devices and not all are connected at once, I never play online so it's normally never an issue.
  6. Forgot this existed until now. Downloading as I type! Will the update require a new game to be started? If so I will wait for for the update first, or maybe just do some practice until then! Is there a management version of this? I'd be probably playing it too much to be productive though ๐Ÿคฃ

    Codies Racing Line โ€“ April 30, 2020

Hey good work fellas on the game code initiative. I'm sure those folk need as much a distraction from real life as possible! Also that chill music link will def come in handy during my next endurance race when I just want to relax and get in a groove. Would be cool if that sort of music was included in the actual game soundtracks too. Some of us prefer mellow music to Hardcore when racing lol. Finally yes that special edition cover looks great. Nice to see such a memorable driver get some exposure now he can't create any more than more of his own sadly.

Weekly GP event Mexico - historic cars

Traction control off? If you're driving a classic F1 car with a turbo when the lag kicks in for real yes it does feel like someone gave the car a kick in the rear and the car starts veering off track rapidly as the rear literally tries to pss the front!

F1 2020 interview with Lee Mather

Glad you cleared that up! We get new people in the forums all the time especially round this time with a new game (sorry, new RELEASE ๐Ÿ˜) on the horizon. Without them having the hindsight of reading months of assist /control method discussions it can be off putting feeling discriminated against. As you make clear though, if any newcomers are reading this and are interested only in causing carnage and mayhem please, please, PLEASE go somewhere else fast. @1512marcel wait you're an ASSIST user?! No no no sir, get thee from me Satan!! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ We're all of equal value in this game and on these forums, whatever our skill, method of control or assist level. But if you start driving into other people deliberately you won't find many new friends here.

F1 2020 interview with Lee Mather

I dont think it's fair to suggest people who use certain legitimate options in a racing game are "morons". Your post pretty much hints that pad and assists users are of limited intelligence? If however you are referring solely to those people to whom a clean race is a complete waste of time then I would agree with you and can think of some far more 'interesting' words than 'moron'! ๐Ÿ˜

Are wet races even playable with a pad?

I just did a double take and realized this is actually a thread by a PAD user stating they feel the game is somehow biased against their method of control. There is a level of irony in that I find it hard not to find amusing. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We don't read many of these! Hope it works out for you tho man, I'm all for total equality for all input devices.
  13. I agree that it can get a bit too much if a developer by (using trophies) kinda pushes people to explore all their new additions to the game whether they enjoy them or not. Personally I'd prefer to see more single player rewards, like completing a 100% race in cockpit view using zero assists with simulation damage on . You'd only have to finish it undamaged not get a podium or anything so it could be quite exciting and introduce players to 'real' racing and all the thrills and spills involved. It's kind of a catch 22, platinum should reflect the fact you've actually used all the features and game modes in the game. However a game has multiple features in the FIRST place to cater for all tastes so its totally normal for people only to bother with the modes that interest them. On the other hand no-one is actually FORCING anybody to get all the trophies, are they? Or is it rather cynical of Codies to exploit the addictions of modern day gamers? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜œ
  14. @Mike5500 is this what you were after?

    Ranking in f1 2019 (and f1 2020?)

@Bicarda Brilliant thanks! You're not talking about actual sessions themselves or grid positions but how you chose which to enter, or which to stay in once you've joined. Is there any kind of safety rating in the game? I know that's not ability but it's at least possible to pick a fair race then. Would be cool maybe if when you browse a lobby on a certain track you can see everybody in the lobby's best lap time at that track, and what assists they used. That would be a pretty good indicator right? I'm thinking of how to help the developers fix the issue with the least amount of changes so as not to risk errors. Or incur considerable extra development time.

I am real P****d with this!!!

Exactly, good analogy. Or saying every time I look up my friends number it gives me the wrong one. OK whats his name? It's James Smith. OK we'd be glad to fix it what's his address? I only know his name. It's the tiny details that might seem insignificant to us that mean everything to the developers. Almost no bug or glitch is just always there in the same place, every time. It takes a combination of certain events to make it happen. These events are all building blocks in development at a higher level than actual code. Where certain blocks come together and interact is crucial. If you can show for example the problem occurs in a certain car, with specific tires, in specific weather during a 25 % race during the last 5 laps approx 5 seconds after you pass another certain car and when you change your ERS to charge and your fuel to lean then THAT'S what they need. All those pointers will help them narrow down specific procedure calls. Once they have the procedure or function then they have code that is short enough to analyze and hopefully find the issue. It's practically impossible to check every single possible combination of events before you release a game to millions of people who will literally eventually achieve every possible combo. Video best, if not possible a screen shot can help a lot too.

    F1 2020 BETA - Process Closed

You mean added automatically by the forum software? Cos I certainly didn't add it! When you say dismiss do you actually mean ignore as there is no way to actually dismiss it. It's plastered permanently at the top of every forum page for me taking an inch of valuable space on my tablet ๐Ÿ˜Ž Thanks for at least informing us of the cause though, that's a good start! EDIT : Wow with my reading glasses on I finally saw the dismiss button. Thanks man! It was a bigger to click being so tiny but I managed it! Yay ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž

    Ranking in f1 2019 (and f1 2020?)

As a single player only are you saying that online races place people on the grid in the order of ranking? If so that kinda sucks in more ways than I could list here. To me it's qualifying speed only that counts, and if no qualifying was done then it has to be totally random to be fair to everyone. Especially if ranking is not actually skill based but instead dependent on how many race starts you have had or total hours in the game. Sorry for my ignorance of online racing!

    F1 2020 - Engine Sounds

Pretty much an impossible job for audio to get exactly 'right' as what even IS right? If you mean from the drivers point of view it would have to be horribly muffled to be realistic. To get an on board mic to sound accurate do you sim to reproduce the best possible quality available with high end condenser mics that could only work in practice due to their size and weight? Or do you try to accurately try to copy the sound the TV broadcast uses whether it's good or bad by just using the exact same equipment in the same recording positions? There is also the sound that spectators experience, completely different with a full range of frequencies apparent. To me as long as the audio is recorded on the actual correct car /powerplant /gearbox/ tire combination (hopefully with one for slicks in the dry and one with wets in the wet) then im totally happy. Id actually prefer audio that was better than the TV broadcast if possible even if it's mixed to sound like the car is in a studio(!) Games are supposed to be games and assault your senses with the coolest sounds possible. Preferably in DTX 7 channel surround if possible (๐Ÿ˜Ž)! I'd be totally blown away if I could hear each wheels tire screeches coming from my 4 major surround speakers!

Next gen to Close the gap between wheel v pad

Hey Empire while I do agree with your sentiments I DON'T think that either method should be boosted or made quicker. Inputs should be linear so the more accurate your method is the better you do. It IS physically possible for a controller user to match a wheel user without boosts IF they are very highly skilled and delicate with their control. Extremely hard but possible. I'd hate for someone with that skill and heard earned experience to be given an unnatural disadvantage. I have no problem with pad users being given any kind of boost in Career but not in mp. Should be equal input calibration for everyone then. Separating lobbies into one or the other method would be the ideal way to do it for compete fairness.

Are wet races even playable with a pad?

Wet /dry races are the great equalizer between wheel and pad users. Only time everyone has a fair shot at winning.

    Is F1 esports Ready?

Cockpit view IS restrictive in the game no doubt about it but who cares as it's THE SAME FOR EVERYONE (except triple screeners but they'd still have a huge advantage in any view tbh). If getting the widest view of the track and the other cars is the only thing that's important you might as well all race top down isometric or even 2d like GTA & GTA II. Simulate the real drivers car and assist situation first as accurate as possible THEN you have a chance the race itself will look more like a simulation, be more unpredictable and exciting to watch.

I am real P****d with this!!!

Hard luck man that sucks. I really recommend you try and capture all your race footage and either send Codies all major problems or upload to YouTube and copy them in. Don't just make a negative video though trying to get views, do it for the discussion. Codies will probably never change anything major in their F1 games as they're just too popular as they are. They do however fix some bugs especially this kind as it's a technical issue not a game design issue. They just need as much evidence of it as possible. If I was a dev and read your post I'd want to fix it but there's virtually no way to nail down the issue without seeing in exact detail exactly what happened leading up to the incident. If they get several videos or reports with exactly the same outcome that's a real help in fixing the problem. Welcome to software development. If as a developer you can't see the fault yourself or experience the same issue first hand there really is nothing you can do sadly to fix it. You can't just randomly rewrite the code and hope you fix it without causing other issues.

    My thoughts on p2p in F1 2019

Absolutely! An f1 race is not just one huge race with 20 or so drivers all trying to win the trophy. It's actually a whole bunch of smaller races all taking place at the same time. To get enjoyment and feel accomplishment you just have to figure out what YOUR particular challenge is. Beat your teammate? That's one. Get a point? Another. Fastest lap, beat a driver who you've never beaten before, finish the race without crashing, beating personal best lap /race time are others.
