I personally would love 2 versions simply so that I could compete single player and maybe go for all the trophies and platinum without once ever having to be forced to go online and deal with all that absolute craziness. I'm sure those that play online only would also like to be able to complete all the online modes for completion without having to bother with single player at all.

This is one of those weird internet situations. Some people, not many, do this everywhere. I'd love to know why?! Do they literally type it out laboriously that way or is there a keyboard setting on a device that does it automatically? I'd love a definitive answer for this! 🤔

Thanks for the info! I believe Codies must have had a good reason for removing it, probably a sad one. Maybe they received a lot of complaints from drivers or maybe there was an exploit that was being used they couldn't fix in the short term. They obviously couldn't state this as a public reason. If it was players behaving badly its against their best interests to criticize customers. I'd love to know the actual answer though, but probably never will.

Absolutely true in fact I believe if they released a time trial only vr version of the game for say 9.99 it would sell like hot cakes. Everyone with a vr headset would want it. Although if it's not in their long term plans for the main game they'd probably be inundated with such requests if /when a TT version was made available and publicized. This would be distracting for sure.

I'm a veteran of single player too but from all I've seen and read (watching twitch online races is very informative!) the online portion of the game (apart from leagues) is really just a bonus add on, not particularly well organized and not at all policed. That's not a knock at Codies as the SP campaign is the meat of the game and they succeeded with that. It takes considerable resources and ongoing management to organize online races for a game that will be replaced in a year anyway. As a long term career player you probably represent 1% of similar drivers online. The rest most likely want a short, repeatable casual experience. If you set up your own lobby of 25% or more things get much less chaotic but you also might find nobody else will join you! Good luck again!

Isn't league racing one big multi - friend invite to a ranked lobby? Or are leagues non ranking?

Welcome to the forums and thanks for taking the time to write a detailed report of your miserable experience. Your first and only mistake was going online in the first place expecting a good time. The game exits for sure you could not have expected that. The appalling behavior of juvenile online competitors? That's normal sadly unless you join a league or get very lucky. Despite that I DO wish you more luck next time, and hope to see the next post is a much happier one. (hint.... Play single player! 1⃣😎)

I personally love unlockables in racing games. Especially cars and tracks. I agree championships are not quite so exciting to work hard just to be able to compete in others. I'd prefer they were all unlocked but that they each gave you a really cool unlock for beating. Something you could just not get anywhere else in the game.

Codies could in fact release an f1 game that consisted solely of classic cars from the last 50 years. With classic tracks, drivers, teams and liveries. Yeh it would take several years to put it together and get all/most of the licensing. No doubt though it would be the biggest selling race game of all time.

I think that included scenarios can be not too exciting for most people. But you give me the idea to suggest instead a CUSTOM CHALLENGE EDITOR. In this mode you choose the ai level, track, team, driver, lap # and position you start on plus position other cars if you wish. This would at least give you the chance to play out your favorite race moment and see if you could do better than the driver you picked actually did. Tires and tire wear could also be selected as well as weather. It would actually be a great training mode for finishing races, holding onto a lead, pit stops, passing back markers or rivals etc the only limit is your imagination. Personally the first scenario I'd do would be starting in 17th place on the grid as Kimi Raikonnen at Suzuka in Mercedes. 🍾🏁

Let's go the whole way and do it Alonso style (2012 Valencia). Slow down after the finish to pick up your nation's flag from a marshal, drive half a lap with it then park your car in the middle of the track. Exit car, lay the flag on the track and wait for an official car to pick you up and take you back to the podium for your trophy and champagne. Codies, just do it lads! 🍾🏆🏁

Even though a lot of people only play online I believe the main focus of the devs is a solid single player experience. Which they tend to deliver on pretty well. Yes I hear you it sucks crashing online because it's not like SP where you just load a previous save and continue. You literally have to start again from scratch and do it all over. So it might seem like a minor issue to a dev but for the poor guy on the receiving end its a total buzz kill. I'm sure Lando's many disconnections have caused a stir as that's bad publicity for sure except we don't know yet if it was a failure his end or not. Also it's really hard to setup a crash scenario and test it online. So many different variables, people playing etc not like SP where it's just you and the one system. Feel assured though man I definitely sympathize with you.

True just a Screenshot of an error code doesn't help much I meant a series of them or even better a video so they can see exactly what was happening before the issue. Even a static screenshot helps though because it's the game literally acknowledging an error which is always embarrassing for a dev. Especially if a thread has many of them in the same thread. The squeaky wheel gets the grease maybe?

Well where I moved to ironically (The Sunshine State) actually has way more rain, which I didnt know before lol. But it all comes down in one massive storm then dries up real fast back to shades weather. In England it was DRIZZLE that drove me nuts and no sign of the sun for days sometimes. The sun is like ERS harvest mode for me 🌞😎

If they get screen shots or videos of the same error multiple times it makes it much easier to diagnose. Without them it's almost impossible 😔

Believe it or not it doesn't ALWAYS rain in England! Although that WAS one of the reasons I emigrated out lol.
