    MFD shortcut Delay F1 2018 & F1 2019

Maybe not as quick but accurately sure. Key for me is preparation making sure I don't need to go from 0 to hotlap in one go! You can sync it with the gear changes to make it smoother and smooth is KING when going for consistent speed round a track.

    Classic Cars for 2020

I think a lot of people will be boycotting 2020 and it won't be because of the classic cars!

    MFD shortcut Delay F1 2018 & F1 2019

On my G29 I used the L3 and R3 buttons to raise and lower ERS one notch at a time and the +/- rocker for fuel mapping. Worked really well despite being obviously unrealistic. Using the MFD during the race is gonna slow you down or earn you a brewski in the motor home pretty quick!

    Is Monaco still unplayable?

I DID lower the ai once for qualifying to 35 just to see if I could do the full race with damage on and survive from pole if I didn't have to try passing cars, I then turned ai back to the level I normally use on other tracks (around 80). I did survive but the whole 90 mins or so was guilt ridden with 19 cars glued to my butt the whole way in a rigid train formation. I pitted after everyone else and my last lap before pitting was so slow I came back out in 5th. Yes, I suck major league at Monaco. Didn't used to in the Crammond games tho!

    Is Monaco still unplayable?

I have a question for those who I know can post good times round the circuit. Are you using full or sim damage with zero flashbacks? If you are then respect to you! I know the reason I can never really relax and go full speed round there is knowing one mistake and I will DNF. I know I'd be faster if I turned damage off but it wouldn't feel right. I'm not accusing anyone here I genuinely would like to know if you can do fast times and still not worry about wrecking the car any second!

    Is Monaco still unplayable?

This brilliant movie shows Monaco in its glory days as a great track, when cars seem to be almost consumer like in speed but are still actually fast and dangerous considering how poorly the drivers and onlookers were protected (not at all lol). So yes it's a silly restricted track for modern cars and is only still on the calendar for considerable financial and marketing reasons. https://youtu.be/sCv-dIFGcd0

    Is Monaco still unplayable?

It's true.. This track especially needs a lot of practice time. Needs to be fun though. Just go to TT, put your favorite playlist on and drive around slowly, learning the most efficient lines first before speeding them up. If you are tense you will crash. So just keep lapping slow and smooth until muscle memory starts to make it feel more natural then start speeding up gradually until you find your pace. Some people like myself are never gonna be fast fast round there but at least you should be having fun without worrying about crashing.

No Online Championship on F1 2019

I think in future 2018 will be held up as a kind of 'classic' F1 game. I hated the halo myself but everything else (except safety car of course) pretty much worked fine (oh career upgrades broken too but at least 3 seasons were fun). 2017 was also a blast albeit a little simplistic with no ERS management. Both these games took the idea of fun seriously (paradoxical I know! ).

    Classic Cars for 2020

Imagine F1 2020 bundled with a career mode that instead of spanning 10 years of silly R&D upgrades like past games actually had all the cars and drivers from the last 10 years. You'd start in 2011 and FINISH in 2020 having experienced an amazing 10 years of modern car development. I reckon that career mode would be MASSIVE and see a huge boost in sales over previous titles. I'd buy it for sure even if it was riddled with bugs. I'd be so excited to do the whole 10 year career even if I raced poorly. Well I can dream can't I?
  10. They will certainly want to charge full price for the game so there will be new features whether they are working or not sadly. Just fixing the game would effectively mean NOT releasing a new game at all but instead a 2020 'remodel'. Owners of 2019 would get the update for free as a loyalty bonus and new purchasers would need buy a discounted 2019 in order to access the new content. Of course this won't happen... the annual cycle will continue as usual. Maybe we can at least hope it will be titled "F1 2010..Safety First!" A fully implemented and accurate safety car would finally be included.

    fanatec v3 pedals vibration supported?

I remember that discussion... As disgusted now as I was then.. You just reminded me!
  12. I think the annual release schedule is absolutely to blame for the very average problematic releases we have been getting. In other genres making a classic game means people play it for years and keep coming back to it and the good reputation gives the development team more money and support to make future classic games. When a game has a maximum shelf life of 1 year, or more realistic 6 months until the F1 season ends devs seriously must be thinking what's the point in working out butts off making the perfect game for just ONE year? Even if they do make a classic game then people won't want to buy the next year's game as they already have a great game. It's almost as if the devs (or. Management more likely) insist on the game being always 'not enough' so people give up and keep buying the next year's game in the forlorn hope of the improvement that will never actually happen.

    problems with f1 2019 ps4 steering wheel

You have an excellent wheel that performs well for the price tag. It gives great performance and handling in a number of modern racing games. F1 2019 is not one of them.

    Suggestion, restrict cockpit view

Well they hear us but the only answer we can possibly get is NO. We are a tiny majority of fair racers who for reasons of our own prefer to race the fun and exciting cars of F1 instead of the Hardcore, hard work and major commitment needed to use iracing for example. The massive majority want Mario Kart with Mission Winnow liveries however and CM know if they made cockpit compulsory for esports or ranking the "internet would blow up". No reason we can't have it for leagues or private lobbies however. Except.... Online seems to be pretty dead so they want everyone racing in the same low brow lobbies to keep the numbers up. Sad but convinced that's true. No cockpit only = no sale for me.

As a Brit who moved to the US that whole debacle has been refreshingly distant!

That's the definition of ignorance! Not your comment of course but you knew that already.... Think of the flat earth people for example. That's a perfect example of people deliberately choosing to be stupid...

    Suggestion, restrict cockpit view

That's totally true lol although in almost every case where the monkey see phrase is used in modern times it is referring to intellectually challenged humans (or toddlers!). I think making fun of ignorant people who are 'deliberately' stupid is a great way to alleviate the frustration they cause us in our daily lives.

I have a button assigned to look back to see a faster car coming especially if I'm blue flagged. Yes it's obviously fake but I'm not using it to go faster or block cars but to be courteous and get out of the way. I know there is another discussion re virtual rear mirrors being requested. Project cars has them. Iracing has them. Iracing puts it there so you have no excuse to mess up a faster drivers race. They punish every assist with time penalties and count the rear view as essential so I have no problem with it. Ironically whenever I watch the actual grand prix races on TV now everytime they switch to the tcam view I think UGH why can't we see an exciting helmet view. Not surprised so many people use it as it's exactly the same view they see on TV. I would not be at all surprised if a large portion of players actually believed that's the actual driver view. I don't mean to be offensive but "monkey see monkey do" right? Actually that does sound offensive I guess but there is no excuse to be ignorant with all the info we have at our fingertips these days.

Blinking rate of the Red Backlight, F1 20XX

FYI on the first post video from 7:30 onwards shows the best example of how IRL the rear red flashing light is synced to the speed of the car giving great awareness of your speed when you can't see the sides of the track! Obviously not implemented in the game which has a simple fixed rate of flashing, completely unrealistic.

F1 2020 - Things to make the game better

We're probably going to get the same game except with updated drivers and cars. There will now be a full f2 season to compete in and a new MP mode which everyone will talk excitedly about before release but complain about after. Then it's some more MT and a couple of patches for 3 months then off to 2021. Full helmet and suit customizations will be on the major feature list. You may also be able to pick your teammate however you start career and coop mp championships might sneak back into the game with a different name, plus the leagues will have a few extra options nobody asked for. Kinda depressing ain't it?

F1 2020 - Things to make the game better

Yes some great ideas here but they pretty well describe an entirely new game built from ground up (I hate that overused expression BTW!). No company with an annual release game is going to take any risks with their next game as long as sales have been good for the previous iterations. With regard to fixing long term issues it's a software reality that if you fix 1 bug 2 smaller ones will appear after. Once the overall balance and playability is acceptable (yes the bar is set that low) then its cut and paste with new gimmicks for each 'new' game. It's NOT a CM problem exclusively, it's the same with any recurring annual license release. A new studio may well take risks with a lot of major changes but that's just not gonna happen here. Modding I believe is the way forward for the minority of us that want a better game but the majority are always going to be happy as long as the new game looks close to what they see on TV. Every assist under the sun : CHECK T-CAM : CHECK Driver names :CHECK Accurate PEGI 3 liveries : CHECK TV Music :CHECK etc etc you get my point sadly. Still great to see all the new ideas, someone somewhere out there will read them and take heed I hope.
  22. Providing as much info as possible is not required because the devs don't trust a bug happens, it's because they want to find the code that produces the error to possibly fix it. Screen shots and videos help the devs immensely as well. It might be a pain for a customer who has had their game compromised by a bug to spend some time giving all the extra detail, but it's the customers who take the time to create forum accounts and report issues who really help the devs the most to fix them. Making a negative YouTube video is one thing, making a detailed report here is another. Give them as much info as possible to help them do their jobs. If they ignore it then that's something to complain about but we can feel pride at least by being positive in a 'crisis' and jointly making an effort to improve our favorite racing series' only official game! Personally I welcome ANY input from CM on these forums, it shows they read them and are responding in the way we want them to, especially as asking for more info definitely means they take a problem seriously.

    How to change/rename player name

Now THAT'S some first class customer support! Detailed and fast, thought it would be fair to praise that after all the negative comments in the forum about support and feedback.

    Suggestion, restrict cockpit view

Yes requested many times without response already, but no harm in being the squeaky wheel to keep this issue on the front page! T-cam view = Mario kart view. Cockpit = Racer view F1 already has a Mario type game, can't recall the title right now, it doesn't need another!
