Fed up— rain and AI in the rain

I’m accelerating slower with tc medium wet or dry so I see no reason to use it as I better acceleration without it. If that mean I have better traction without it I don’t know. Reading your issue it seems like a TC issue not the overall AI wet race pace.

Fed up— rain and AI in the rain

I know isn’t directed to me but I use no assist. And if I did it would only make me slower with Tc at least. I don’t see a reason for me to use something like tc or abs when running at 104-107. You use abs, that’s fine, I’m assuming it’s because of a reason , you haven’t wondered if there is something OP with the AI under braking then that needs some adjustments by Codies? Am making a comparison because it’s plain to see by you and me that it would illogical to assume that the AI is OP under braking and they burden lays on the player because they are plenty of people playing without ABS at 105. The same goes with wet race pace, the issue isn’t with AI being OP , the underlying issue is with the driver. Using ABS at a high pace like 105 tells a possibly that braking skills isn’t as good , and possibility that goes with wet race pace.

Fed up— rain and AI in the rain

I play at 104-107 depending on what track and the ai are overall lap time wise nicely balanced. By your logic I am too slow in the dry that’s why I’m not 1-1,5 sec / lap (sometimes much more according to some posters) slower in the wet. That means that I should race at up to 115-120 difficulty, which is hard because the scale goes only to 110 🤣 And on top of that running at 115-120 would make me more or less the fastest f1 2019 in the world. And rest assured, I am not one of the fastest in the world at f1 2019. And my practice and experience are 99% on dry running so me being a super duper wet driver is unlikely. It is FAR more likely that people who have trouble keeping up in wet races are just not fast/good enough. Driving in the wet is more difficult so people who play as low a 50-70 like I’ve read are likely to be poor in wet races, since there are no reason not to be fast enough physically to race at >100. So why aren’t they fast enough for >100? Because they are not good enough, and not being good enough at >100 makes is more likely that skills essential for driving in the wet are also lacking. To ease the pain, CM should add a option to choose weather in Career as well as Championship Mode to give people that struggle in the wet an opportunity to enjoy the game.

Fed up— rain and AI in the rain

That’s been done by me numerous times already at 103-104, that’s almost a sec / lap faster than 100 so. I can count at least 8 races so far , wet, inters, mixed rain and so fourth. and that’s Gp or Championship mode so no unfair career advantage

AI in the wet - all circuits

It wouldn’t paint a clear picture launching a poll on the site that is occupied mostly by people having issues with the game , leaving all those players who thinks is fine but don’t visit the site because of reasons. Actually it would paint a picture, a picture that doesn’t represent the majority of the players. So no, it would do more harm than good.

AI in the wet - all circuits

A poll is pretty useless, adjustments needs valid arguments and the OP wet race pace brigade have come with none IMO. PS “Because they are” is not an argument.

How do you know, have you asked all the players playing 2019? No? Then this is just another non basis view. 🤫

AI in the wet - all circuits

I agree. And to add , there are people who think are to fast and people who think it’s well balanced. Not a single comment that AI are to slow in the wet race pace. That’s another indication that the race pace is well balanced. My opinion is like I said well balanced average lap time but overall that the AI are a tiny amount OP in traction compared to corner speed wet or dry.

I agree Q needs to be looked at, I was referring to race pace. I’ve been agreeing with you Q findings all along 😊👍

AI in the wet - all circuits

They could simply lower the settings, or pratice wet running to get up to speed to their dry pace. The AI laptimes are very similar to dry difficulty, and they are like in dry races better in traction out of corners than acutal cornering speed. And that's what CM need to adjust, and it's good that we heard that this thread and others are being looked at, and hopefully they make a good judgement of the the quality of feedback. Why is it that I feel that people who think the AI are OP, in fact are slower generally speaking in the wet versus people like me how think the average laptimes in race are fine are? Pretty simple, it's way more likely because: 1) My racing experience consists of less than 1% wet running, it would be highly unlikely that I am better in wet running than dry. My level are 104-107 dependning on the track, wet or dry. 2) I do not like driving in the wet, it's tidious and slow, no action or good battles. 3) I do not consider myself good in wet conditions, but on par, thus it would be very unlikely that I am in fact ultra fast, like 1 sec/lap faster than my dry pace relative to the AI. (that's like 5 clicks in the difficulty slider) Using that logic its safe to assume that people how think the AI are OP in the wet are their not as good as their dry pace.

Give it some time and you will improve 👍 Ive done Austria along with other races with no real difference in pace vs dry

AI in the wet - all circuits

Ai race speed in the wet are about the same level of difficulty as F1 2018. Cm updated the wet ai because they were slow as snails in traction out of corners.

AI difficulty in wet and dry

That's why CM adjusted the AI performance, so that "The player shouldn't have to alter the level". The general pace in the race wet (inters or full wet) is fine IMO, their strenths are the same as in the dry, i.e. tractions out of corners, which I think should be tweaked a tiny amount. Their abilitly never to overheat the tyres, or going full speed straight away in wet races are a something that need to be looked at. A good example of this was doing inters on a drying track for the last 5 laps because pitting would have been too much time lost, the AI did this fine, this was my teams strategy as well but the inters overheated right away whereas the AI prodded along doing faster and faster times. And also the old bug of fast forwarding in wet qualifying. And maybe the general pace in wet qualifying in general.

The same championship at Germany, inters last 14 laps. P2, P3 ran same speed as me before and after roughly. I increased the gap from 2 seconds to 3

AI in the wet - all circuits

I just did Championship mode race at Austria, 50%, ai 104. wet after lap 1, inters, final 10 laps dry. No real difference in pace from the AI. Ai wet or dry is a bit too flawless on traction out of opened corners compared to their in corner speed. I’d say roughly 0.5-1 metre better at my 104 level. This is on all tracks. This is IMO what needs to me adjusted.
  19. Some people including me have wondered when and/or if engine efficiency is lowered at high temp and if so, ar what temps. No official reply when asked (of course) so I did some digging. And at >135 C the engine efficiency is lowered to * 0.9 (meaning 10% less engine efficiency.) This should be a sticky
  20. KrazyLurt

STICKY Engine efficiency at >135 C ”found”

It was instant after chasing the value to * 0.000009 ( for testing purposes). So pretty sure it the same at 0.9

    Engine Temps

215 degrees, does the game or manual give any hints of this??? if not then that’s major oversight from CM. Can anyone from the CM team reply perhaps??
  22. GP have no upgrades, it’s the basics, exactly like TT or 1st race in Career
  23. This easily repeatable, by hitting a another car, VERY often the “bump” sound keeps occurring repeatedly for a LONG time. It’s like the sound keeps occurring at at high speeds and might be connected to the bottoming out effect. Anyway it’s extremely annoying, sound like someone is banging on a good damn door at the end of all the high speed straights. A way to make it stop is to ram it to wall or another vehicle. I do that now, and then use a flashback to continue racing.
  24. Faya , like above it’s present at ps4 as well so I don’t think dxdiag are necessary, yeah I have verified my game files. my specs are: Skylake platform, 6700k, 32 gig 2600 Mhz ddr 4, gtx 1080 PS4 and PC means a fundamental bug cross platform, I have no idea why no real feedback have been made of this , and why it haven’t been adress. It must be one of the easiest bug to reproduce. And it is severe. It’s still active in v1.06. sorry for the late reply.
