    Yeah that works well , and is a easy thing to do. 👍 Where it’s an real issue with the AI being OP in Baku levels is changeable conditions (Dry-wet or vice versa).

    Yeah basic setup changes I know, doesn’t work that well in Codemaster world 🥴 In their world downforce works, try for yourself, I’m not making stuff up. Im playing at 105 matching Ferrari/ Mercedes teammates so it’s okay, I’m just saying that traction out of corners is weird in this game. And this thing is what is the underlying issue of AI top speed, player downforce levels etc.

    And sadly in F1 2019 there is no substantial setup change that increase speed out of corners more than increasing downforce.

    No it’s downforce as well as mechanical grip. More downforce pushes the car to ground = more grip

    I’m sure the testers had too much downforce than what the AI was coded for. I have long 140+ hours already, the AI are not OP with <7 levels of downforce. The only problem with levels like 3/3-6/6 downforce levels is that low downforce = less traction out of corners. And this is the problem with AI they have high downforce levels of traction out of corners. These downforce levels with Mercedes/ Ferrari gives good straight line speed. Although you loose distance out of corners because if low traction: 1: Melbourne 5/5 2 Bahrain 6/6 3 China 4/4 4 Baku: 4/4 5 Spain: 4/4 7 Canada: 5/5 8 France: 6/6 9 Austria: 5/5 10 Britain 4/4 11 Germany: 6/6 12 Hungary: 4/4 13 Spa: 3/3 14 Monza 4/4 15 Singapore 5/5 16 Russia: 5/5 17 Japan: 4/4 18 Mexico: 4/4 19 USA : 5/5 20 Brazil: 4/4 21 Abu Dhabi: 6/6

    Being able to see how the AI managed ERS was removed with the v1.05 without giving a reason in the patch notes. It wasn’t even mentioned in the notes. 🧐

    Both tracks are okay. AI are as strong traction as dry, I.e always perfect. I wouldn’t mind if CM could ad variations to their traction the same way as cornering speed.

    Those examples are only a few variables that determines the speed of the AI. Traction values are one of lots of more variables for them to alter. Traction values was what they adjusted in v1.05 , and that was a good move. This ( I hope) was done per track. Baku seems to been a screw up , there might be more tracks I haven’t tested all of them. And honestly, this shouldn’t have been necessary, that’s what the devs team and beta testers are for. F1 201x series games are always sold as beta versions and you are buying full price to be a beta tester basically. sad

    I tried Hockenheim, it’s fine , the same at Singapore. Like earlier post @ 103 level, inters etc also no real issues at Melbourne and China.

    Update: Seems to be track related. I can confirm previous posts of ai being really fast at Baku. For me , 2,5 seconds/ lap. It’s traction adjustments that needs to be lowered at Baku. Another finding is that there is a lack of speed for the first 2 laps on all tracks I’ve tested, and the ai is not affected by that. 50% race , inters, + 2 fuel, rich mode.

    *)Wheel *) No assists *)102-104 For me it’s pretty much spot on. I have tested wet and mixed wet 25% races at Silverstone and Barcelona post patch. I was maybe a bit slower. 50% Wet race with inters at Suzuka, was pretty spot on comparing to my later test race with dry pace. Did a dry-wet (1/3-2/3) 50% Champ mode at Canada. 103 difficulty, were +\- .100 / lap at P2 vs P1 Hamilton + 2 sec gap in the dry. Pit for inters at the same lap for testing purposes. Overtook Hamilton after 3 wet laps. Won by roughly 6 seconds. His out lap was very fast though maybe because I race with simulated tyre temps. Other players problems might be tracks related because I haven't tried the majority of the tracks. But the general pace is fine.

    Regarding 5) Last several games of F1 the AI speed on the straights were comparable with running 6 wings vs team mate. This year, at least pre v1.05, for me, this was not possible and wings levels from 2-5 was was needed on all tracks for matching top speed. But the problem with that was that lower than 6 wings downforce meant less traction out of corners. I feel than after v 1.05 the top speed are lower. But the traction out of corners are ALWAYS perfect. I think what CM needs to be adjusting is the traction out of corners by a small amount. That solves the problem of OP straight line speed as well. Regarding 6) All I have experienced are good pace on inters at Canada and Japan. Maybe a bit OP at Barcelona. But I haven’t checked most of the tracks.

    Yeah lots of times in F1 2018. I never pitted because I was sometimes faster per lap. And yeah no penalty 🤫

    They have a bit too much traction wet or dry in F1 2019. A tad too much I feel. They are always perfect on the power, which in longitude and lateral corner exits are super difficult. Like corners before the 1st drs in Canada for example. they need to tweak that a tiny bit. That’s why the general consensus is that ai are so fast in the straights. the acceleration is always perfect. 🥴

I do ultra short shifting out of corners Mode 1 ers out of corners until 4-5th gear were I switch to mode 4. Dry setup at Canada. A rough setup I made 55% diff, min camber, 1/1 suspension. 7/7 anti roll bars, 3 ride height

    Problems with ERS Deployment

    Auto ers uses a lot of mode 4 ers when battling for position and mode 4 uses more than the ers Deployment limit. There’s is the downside of automatic sadly. I never use auto but I’m a wheel guy so it’s easier. Sounds tricky for gamepad users sadly. 😔

    There were trains none the less. This is nothing new , and it varies from track to track. I’m not saying I like this train behavior but I think they need to alter the game mechanics rather than looking at the behavior of v 1.04.
  24. There were trains in 2017,2018 and 2019 pre 1.05 too. it’s the game mechanics that is flawed. The ais that are being chased down don’t use mode 4 to try to not being chased down into drs range. that and the dirty air / slipstream ratio.
