The patch notes states that the AI was re-balanced in the wet @KrazyLurt

No it said in future updates.

Below are just some of the issues that we are looking at addressing in the next couple of patches:

    • Balanced AI pace in the wet
    • Ability to disable voting in Leagues
    • Fanatec DD1 wheel base not being recognised on PS4

I’ve noticed quirks with AI but thought maybe that was because my setting for AI was too easy; what are the AI issues you’ve seen?

Just pitstop strategy in general because you really can’t overtake on track so all top ten soft guys get screwed by the rest on medium.
But this not a criticism of CM because such coding is too cpu intensive to have.

Hi. Have you tried modify the game? I've encreased Ferrari's drag by 10 points, for test purposes.) So in Spa I was really fast on the straigts reaching 346 kph. But I didn't have much time to test it properly. There are a lot of things in data files to play with.) It would be awesome if anyone knows how to increase downforce by making cars planted in high speed corners only.

I've increased downforce for all cars by an equal amount like, value*1,03, did this as early as before the performance patch. The same with drag. Work flawless, I will not play without my performance tweaks.

  4. But I did notice a big difference in this version of f1 2019 vs my old testing regarding top speed.
At Spa my testing today with Mercedes, Ferrari and Torro Rosso with 6/6 df I matched my team mate top speed in qualifying. The same with 7/5 df which means roughly the same drag as 6/6.

So things have changed in one of the patches, anyone know which one? Maybe the latest because I’ve been pretty active at playing.

Enable telemetry in the settings and run any sort of telemetry tool (including your own). The AI setup is one of the things it reports on every tick. It's always the default setup no matter what.

And locking at the raw data telemetry at the start of a 25% gp at Spa , the ai of Hamilton have 29 kg of car setup fuel, but when the gp starts he has 30,5 kg. So I bet the are different standards for the game to calculate the ai speed.

While telemetry certainly is a great tool, I'm pretty sure that the AI car setups reported are not representative to the actual game, i.e. they don't "use" the setup reported, the speed of the ai are done by different standard.

But we won’t know for sure until CM makes an actual reply

Can I modify the values so that the Ferrari engine is most powerful of all? If yes, what do I need to change?

Yes you can. Manually modify the values is time consuming and also by testing if the values are good enough.

If I would have liked Ferrari to have the most powerful engine like you suggest I would have swapped the values with the Mercedes engine, i.e. Ferrari having Mercedes values and vice versa.

Note that you cant do TT and/or online races with a modified game.

Also swapping this around makes maybe the relative gap between Mercedes and Ferrari not anything that you like.

Another method is to input the values of the games engine upgrade and hope that it is just right.

A quick how to edit values is:

    1) Open the relevant team erp file in EGO Erp Archiver. Example: "D:\Spel\Steam\steamapps\common\F1 2019\2019_asset_groups\f1_2019_vehicle_package\teams\ferrari\wep\ferrari.assetgroup"

    2) export the xml files using EGO Erp Archiver

    3) open the exported file in Notepad or Notepad++

    4) The engine values are in withing the lines 5-142, and the power is line 6-23. Edit in whatever method you choose. Save.

    5) import the xml files using EGO Erp Archiver and save.

Note: the engine upgrade values are noted in line 1273-1291 if you want to add them with lines 6-23.

Can you share us with your mod? Codies have messed up the balance of most teams, that's for sure.) I guess lack of Ferrari engine power in game can be easily fixed, so that it had an advantage of 5-7 kph over Merc in straight line speed. Also Honda engine is 2018 spec and Williams are not that far back as they should be.

I haven't done any realistic mod, but made Ferrari and RedBull neck and neck with Mercedes, a lot more fun. So I'm not sure that is what you are looking for.

EGO ERP Archiver is made by Ryder25 and can be downloaded here if you want to learn how to modify data for your own personal wishes. Note that you cant race online or TT with altered values.

    EGO ERP Archiver

Race department is good for mods, I posted mine their but they are outdated since the performance patch went live.

How do you make the AI all have the same car?  Can't believe Gasly is that high. Seems like I see Leclerc towards the front a lot more than Gasly. And Lando is rarely in the top 15.  However, I really havent paid attention that closely.

I use a tool called ego erp archiver to open the team files called wep. For this test I just used the Mercedes data for all team.
This isn’t cut in stone “proof” just a interesting thing.
I think the game randomizes the speed from race to race. Maybe each driver also have a range of speed and a different probability driver to driver at what range they are at from event to event.
Nevertheless, Gasly is still too highly rated in the game to pick out one, they didn’t to a great job in the performance update , both the car and driver performance was a bit of a half arsed job IMO.

That’s why I use my own mods to better the cars in terms of engine, drag, fuel and ERS using EGO erp archiver. It’s great but takes time manually altering the values and testing.

Interesting, I'll check that out for sure.

I wonder if they boosted Verstappen, as well they should have. But I dont recall him being as fast early on.

OT but here is the results from Austria when all drivers had the same car. I did this test by replacing all cars to the same car. It will get a rough average of how all drivers are rated in 2019

What is the rest of your setup there? Almost every TT top time I've seen is some combination of 10/11 with maybe one a 7 11 or so.

This year I haven’t done any TT or online racing, just GP’s and Championship Mode. So I use wings to be a fast as the AI competition in top line speed. TT in Monaco is certainly more df than 6/6.

My two last seasons of Championship Mode I have used 1/1 springs and 10/10 Anti roll bars.
A high ride height like >9/9 just to not hear the scraping all the time in races.
58 bb , 60 when the tyres start to go.
    Otherwise, same settings as balanced.
I used this on all tracks wet or dry at 102-107 difficulty.
And beat or narrowly beaten by a fast team mate like Verstappen or Hamilton.  Those are the two fastest drivers in the game this year. Verstappen is ~.100 faster than Hamilton in the game.

  12. No it doesn’t really work that way. The AI speed are programmed by other ways. It’s more of a myth because pre 2019 using 6/6 downforce or equivalent amount of drag made you more or less as fast as your team mate.

But in 2019 you will need as low as 3/3 downforce at Spa , and 4/4-6/6 depending on the track.

I have notes that covers all the tracks so I know what amount of downforce is needed. Never above 6/6 , even at Monaco.
