Problem is that there have been lot of remarks on tarmacphysics and yet they fail to convince it has actually improved. No matter what he has been using, just look at the Porsche of for example Dumas and you'll even see that in the rain his machine grips and is nowhere near as slidy as in DR2. As said, tarmac has serious issue which they don't seem to be able to get rid of.
Remarks mostly by people like yourself who haven't even played the game themselves yet but only saw some limited footage.
So you explain me now then why everyone here who tested the game so far says that the physics really are better?
Just want to point out that we did not test the Porsche nor the cambered roads of Spain.
My bad, I thought tarmac had been tested as well.
    Thanks for the correction :)

  3. It’s been very quiet in general of late. I guess they’re all busy with submission deadlines at the moment. Or still hungover from the Christmas party!
Both! We're setting up for the live stream at the moment - we're having a few issues with the office being half empty, but doing everything we can to prep. Either way. there will be at least one new video tomorrow....
    With new cars?

    For the Dutchies,

bol.com sells the deluxe edition physical

    and nedgame as well:

EDIT: bol.com says it will send the codes for the pre-order Opel Kadett on the day of the launch by mail
There's a note about preorder on the website of bol.com:

    It's in Dutch though:
    "Pre-order bonus
Pre-order Dirt Rally 2.0 en ontvang een DLC voor de Opel Kadett. Pre-order codes worden op dag van release per mail verstuurd. "

    Which translates into;
    "Pre-order bonus
Pre-order Dirt Rally 2.0 and receive a DLC for the Opel Kadett. Pre-order codes will be sent by email on the day of release."

  5. So rumours are now that Hyundai is also trying to offer Loeb a contract for next season to drive on select WRC rallies.

*Edit*: Apparantly Breen is also in talks with M-Sport & Hyundai

    -  Breen: "Citroen's two-car plans also leaves Craig Breen without the chance to remain at the team, although he is still in negotiations with Hyundai and M-Sport for 2019."

  6. If anyone fancies trying to hunt down the Polish stages...

Also, what's happened to Jon's Instagram? Seems to have disappeared.
That black rim against the wall in the background of that video looks like a speedline corse sl1408.
Those were fitted to group A saxo's.

    Citroen Saxo confirmed!

  7. That's funny.  We can't even get a classic Toymota, let alone a current WRC spec that is license exclusive'd out due to wrc promoter.
Ofcourse I know Toyota is almost impossible to get.
I just said which one of the current WRC's I personally would prefer to have, and not just one that would be "easiest" to get.
I'm talking about "if we could get", maybe I should have been more clear

  8. So when Ogier has dips and makes mistakes that cost him points & rallies, it's no problem because he is consistent? But when other drivers experience the same (even then it's mostly about Neuville that people talk, Tanäk is also still consistent...) they are dissappointing?
    Sorry but that's utter bullsh*t.
Let's compare Ogier, Neuville & Tanäk's results from this season.

    Ogier: 4 wins, 6 top5 finishes, 2x 10th place & 1 retirement
    Neuville: 3 wins, 6 top5 finishes, 1x 6th, 1x 9th, 1x 16th & 1 retirement (18pts less than Ogier)
    Tanäk: 4 wins, 2 top5 finishes, 1x 6th, 1x 9th, 1x 14th, 1x 19th & 2 retirements. (38pts less than Ogier)

So explain me again why Neuville is so dissappointing and didn't deserve the WRC crown? You all talk about such a bad second half of the season, I only see a bad result in Finland (because the car itself seems to be having problems with Finnish gravel roads) and  in Turkey where Ogier also didn't do well. Neuville also did most of the work (if not all) on his own with no (or not much) backup from his teammates or teamorders (maybe once in Spain where Sordo dropped behind Neuville on the last day?).
Ogier had to rely on teamorders much more, needing his teammates to take penalties and such or deliberately checking in late himself to get better position for the powerstage. Which forced the FIA to make rules about the powerstage and checking in late.
Tanäk had a superb second half with 3 wins in a row but then halted with mechanical issues, but his first half of the season wasn't so good. Didn't see people call that dissappointing though...

And yes you can all call me a fanboy, all you want, I just can't stand it anymore seeing people bashing his performance when it's not so much worse (or actually even better) than Ogier's or Tanäk's.

*Edit*: 1 thing that I will admit though is that he was a bit overconfident after Spain, where he said he will be champion after Australia because of Ogier having to clean again. And Hyundai for doing the same thing and hyping Neuville to be champion after Australia.
They really shouldn't have done that

  9. I just read Jon Armstrong's Q&A on his instagram page where he confirmed Spain as the only tarmac location in DR2.0, like we guessed already.
He also confirmed there will be mixed surfaces but didn't mention for which location(s?).
Also someone asked about the kit cars, I really hope they get the Renault Maxi Megane as well to add to the class with the 306 & Ibiza if they (hopefully) also return in DR2.0

  10. As far as R5s and competition go, I feel there are plenty of real ones which can hopefully be licenced (VW, Skoda, Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Hyundai and maybe Mitsubishi or Proton), but any of these would be suitable for a semi-fictional version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-segment#European_sales_figures (I've been hoping Renault would make an R5 for ages)
I just wish they'd add that Opel Corsa R5 prototype from last year to the R5 class.

With Australia getting closer, what do you think about the title fight?
Disregarding power stage points, Neuville wins if he wins the rally by 4 points. If Neu-Ogi get 2nd-3rd or 3rd-4th they're even on points. If Neuville ends up 4th or lower he needs to beat Ogier by two places to have a points advantage.
And I seriously doubt that Ogier will end up more than one place behind Neuville. So it's quite likely that power stage points will decide the drivers title.
As usual, Tänak is most likely to win. But then I think it will be Ogier and Neuville who will fight it out for the 2nd/3rd place. Really looking forward to this one :-D

Neuville won last year starting from 2nd position, but on the other hand Ogier was already champion then so he most probably didn't put that much effort into it.
Weather will also be very important I think. I saw youtube videos from Hyundai testing in Australia on flooded & very muddy roads, but at the moment it looks much drier.

  12. @ChristinaMc a few questions if u're allowed to answer them please?

    1) When the full car list will be revealed, could u tell us then also which cars have had their real engine sounds recorded?
    2) Is the Mitsubishi Evo X still RHD or did u manage to license the LHD one?
    3) Will the 1995 Impreza have the real group A interior?
