And that's fine, but leave that kind of AI in Elite or below. We finally have an AI that gives us a challenge, why would you want to take that away from us? Rebalance it below Masters sure, but I thoroughly enjoyed the fights I had towards the end of my career in My Team. You actually had to fight for the championship, not just stomp the first 4 events and retire the final 2 for the ez win.

Depends, but at a quick glance I see that as a "real" time. Poland is notorious for some of the cuts, but P1 time isn't far enough ahead for me to think they took anything to egregious. Since looking at just the top 10 has a 30 second split between P2 and P10, it looks like those TT boards haven't been hammered too hard yet. It's also a Long so there is A LOT of road in there to mess up small stuff and lose time. But yes, welcome to the fun part of Dirt Rally where we defend the Earth's pride against these damn aliens!

Soooo Banana car confirmed by our community sound expert?

The only time I'd want a DD wheel on free rotation would be for something like Sea of Thieves lol

A) You got better B) Your game settings were tweaked slightly (or maybe the underlying way the game interprets settings changed) and it resulted in an easier config for you C) There was a solar flare at the exact right instance you were downloading the update which patched your game in such a way to keep it compiled and launching, but altered the underlying engine in such a way to make it easier while also still bypassing the security and hacking features built into the game AND the platform D) You an alien

Supposed to give you photomode in replays if I remember that thread correctly.

I'm curious, was that only a few hundredths behind the My Team WR leader or the Time Trial WR leader? Those times can be very different. I'm also curious because I love the E30 and absolutely stomped the Elite AI with it in Argentina by pretty large chunks of time. So I'd be impressed if the Masters for that class got dramatically more difficult to the point they were dropping 20-30 seconds off a stage between the two difficulties (it wasn't uncommon for me to win ARG in Elite by 15+ second stages). Also was this a Day/Dry stage or a Night/Wet? Just trying to figure out what is causing the issues with AI the most.

I may take a stab with the 240z today, the cars are fun but normally not nearly competitive within the class. Maybe Poland is different?

I saw that post too, and I think it's a fair guess. But I don't know if I'd call it our first DLC2 hint, we did have that tweet about the Nissan & kit cars a while back. Hasn't been confirmed yet, but would line up nicely for the first car pack release of DLC2... edit: found the old pic

Are we all still talking about the 2 locked cars for this week? Is it not already known they are both 2000cc cars? Confirmed for reasons...
-
Hmmm then how many other drivers had completed the daily so far? Maybe there was only a dozen and you ended up in the bottom third of the 12 people who drove it already? Barring that I have nothing for you =/ Sounds like a bug to me
-
I'd have to assume they have 3 base times set for each tier to help group the earliest drivers for all the events? Where do you normally finish for the NR4 dailies? Are you a usual 3rd tier driver?

Wasn't there a 9gb patch? I would assume it was preload models and locations for when they are released.

So.... who is hyped for the new M1 engine sound???
-
Oh man I remember the exact image too, I just can't find it right now!!! If only we could get cool Japanese cars in racing games again...
-
If we get Toyotas I'd want the classic stuff that everyone remembers. Yaris WRC is cool and all, but I love how diverse the Dirt cars are compared to other rally games that tend to focus on the most modern stuff. Sure they're fun with the insane engineering, but all of the older cars have so much character! It's what makes the H2/H3/GrpB classes so much fun, everything drives so differently from each other.

I've said it before, but the shop system could be cool and useful. Like how about all of the used cars have a chance to come with certain upgrades already purchased. So maybe you can buy a new R5 100% stock, or you can buy a slightly cheaper used R5 that is beat to hell and needs bodywork & suspension fixes, but also has the upgraded gearbox and drivetrain. Now all of a sudden you have a reason to consider used cars. Or maybe you've already got an RS200 in the garage, but a different one shows up in rotation - with a T3 engine upgrade already fitted. It will cost maybe $50k more than what you spent on the car already in your garage, but for a free T3 upgrade? Sign me up!

There are a ton out there from the cracked versions of the game since the car model files were included back with the Monte update. Nothing official yet though, but from everything I've seen online looks good and I can't wait to get into that M1!

I'll give you my experience in My Team for an example: Elite tier/H3 RWD class in the E30 with all part upgrades purchased from the get go (no engine tune, 100% Stock4Life) Event 1 [T1 engine tune] | New Zealand - I was averaging around 3sec/Sprint faster than the AI in "my" car. A car I love and have probably 300+ hours in just between DR1 & 2.0. I knew NZ pretty well from some previous WR runs the discord had been doing. Event 2 [T3 engine tune] | Australia - I was averaging around 10sec/Sprint faster than the AI with about the same location knowledge I had of NZ. Event 3 [T5 engine tune] | New England - I was averaging around 15-20sec/Spring faster than the AI. Got the engine upgrade boost thanks to some daily/weekly planning to time it right with some extra cars in the garage 😉 --- TL;DR - Buy at least the 3rd and last upgrades, they are gamechangers. I went from taking hairpins flatout in 3rd with T1 tune to taking the same hairpins in 2nd with tons of throttle play. The time just starts melting off once you upgrade. I really wish they would show you more than a slider bar for "performance" increase with the tune and instead include some hard numbers of BHP increase or something. *hint hint* @ChristinaMc *hint hint*

See that is some risky **** right there. Last time I caught myself autopiloting on Argentina it didn't end well - completely missed the 5 Left tightens 1 call... cartwheels into an insta-DNF...
-
I know the exact feeling. You start a stage in Poland, then you realize you've been daydreaming of that Philly Cheesesteak you had the other week and how that would be so good right now and - oh **** is that a haybale? Did he say Chicane or around? Feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeck.
-
Do, do people actually drive sober? I couldn't even imagine trying to do my dailies without a few beers in me, only way to calm the nerves and get my head on straight!
-
Honestly, given the remaster on Monte I'm expecting Sweden and Germany to feel completely new to us. Sure we won't have new stages, but even knowing the stages right now in Monte from my hundreds of hours in DR1 isn't really helping - hell it might be hurting me because I keep trying to drive like I used to and that does not work in 2.0 You'd be surprised how skinny some of these rigs can be. I found out I could slip my full 80/20 rig between the side of my bed and the wall comfortably. That also assumes you aren't sharing a room with another person who might not be pleased to have a bunch of milled extrusions by them but you can upsell the massive monitor you'll mount to it by saying you'll get one of those fancy hydraulic arms so you can swivel it as a night time tv!
-
They are not, and I don't think we will be seeing studs until Sweden. Would make an awesome challenge for Monte, but I'm going to guess that the handling team doesn't like how the studs interact with the asphalt - probably not producing the right kind of slip (which I assume it should on asphalt???)

The bumps. Constant goddamn bumps everywhere. Want to go flatout through these 5's and 6's? Yeah expect that suspension to be crying by the end of it. So you are constantly dealing with awkward weight shifts and transitions. A lot of the time it is halfway through a corner on some wild "4 Right tightens 3 over crest" which just completely throws you off if you haven't been doing time trial runs for the last 20 minutes in AU.
