... at the end you will use the fastest one of each class.
I hate the Hyundai R5 but I just used that car in DiRT 4 because it was the fastest R5 for example.
That is everything that is wrong with class design. No, I personally will not use the absolute fastest of each class - I always use what car feels the best for me. Why the hell would you be running a car you hate? Nothing about that sounds worth it, just to pretend it helps me shave time. It doesn't, you'll run faster in a car that feels good for you.

  2. Honestly I don't care if they let people unlock cars for money.  Doesn't affect me at all.  All cars are already unlocked in a custom race anyway.
Hope so, would like to see it confirmed.
Custom events have all cars unlocked be default. They've done it in every single Dirt I can remember, that is the entire point of customs - to run fully upgraded cars without buying them.

It wasn't included due to making more sense to spend the licensing money elsewhere instead of having 2(3?) Subarus in essentially the same class, instead of diversifying it.
I think we just need to face facts and accept that a standalone Subaru class is the way to go.
Or just throw them in a class where they are close enough to fit. They don't have to be the absolutely most competitive in that class, but if they are fun to drive people will still choose it over the others. I get we want to try and keep this game very authentic with really competitive classes composed of cars from very specific eras, but then you also have to give up other things - like getting all of the cool iterations of a car. If you can sacrifice a bit of the authenticity in classes to get better variety for people, it is worth it. Sure as hell beats having 2 dozen classes of 2-3 cars each just so one car isn't too much slower than the others. Toss the 01's with the 07's, hell even include the late 90's if it gives you the variety we want.

I'm in leagues where you have a Kadett and Stratos out running some of the Group A's. Sure, at the absolute top 0.1% of the community it won't keep up, but for the vast majority of players it literally makes no difference. A fast driver will post fast times, so let there be some variation in the classes if we can get more fun cars!

Yes and perhaps more exciting is the car waiting behind you. Interesting indeed. Suggests maybe you can be caught by it perhaps?

10 PTS for correctly identifying both models?
Looks like an Alpine A110 up front? Hard to tell but those rounded curves really make me lean that

And maybe some weird bodystyle Peugeot? Hard to tell, that bright green isn't helping me ID any sharp telling angles. Actually the more I look at it could it be a 131 Abarath? Should be the same class I think

  5. Some sexy oversteer slides happening here. And what seems to be Australia, is looking gorgeous.

Also, Phil Mills looking very proper while co-driving.

WE NEED THIS AS A SPECTATOR VIEW IN 2.0.

Seriously, imagine being able to "ride shotgun" with a streamer or a buddy who is absolutely hauling ass through a stage. It's one thing to just their exact screen mirrored, but imagine if both driver and rider had VR. It would be wild.

And i do love how they make him rerun the same stages under more and more stress, really adds to those callouts and helps you know that you're going fast enough to even scare the piss out of your codriver. Now if only we could bump that rating up a bit and get some really authentic lines for when you roll into some bushes and DNF...
