That'd be an awesome thing to do, to be fair. That's an instant 1000 followers for your channel ^^

No, you're not the only one. I wouldn't say buying the game and playing it from day one is a privilege. There's a release date and you preorder or just buy the game at release day, start playing and that's it, but if you choose to wait 6 months or even more time to get it on sale, then I think it's fair to say that you have a clear disadvantage. If you didn't know about DR2.0 and just stumbled across the discounted super deluxe edition, then you were just lucky. ^^ I can't find the discounted Super Deluxe Edition at the moment, so it might not be on sale anymore, but if it really was just €34,99, then that was an absolute steal!

real life 2020 FIA World Rally Championship

This is going to be interesting. Hybrid power has the advantage that you can reduce the number of cylinders and displacement and improve weight distribution as the engine gets lighter and smaller. The Porsche 919 e.g. was producing around 1000HP with only 2L displacement and a V4. Current gen WRC cars are producing 280kW, that means they'll have to reduce boost pressure or fuel flow maybe (?) to get to 180kW with the combustion engine + 100kW from the electric motors, as the engines are already rather small. -

2019 World RX Supercars - Available Now in DiRT Rally 2.0
richie replied to PJTierney's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Yep, it's very noticeable and pronounced in the Fiesta. It seems to have too much turbo-lag which shouldn't be the case in my view, so to prevent the car from bogging down just shorten final drive or take corners in a lower gear than usual. I really like the Audi most. The blow off valve sound in the 2018 version already was music, the latest version has that beautiful turbo chirp when downshifting. Love it. -
Same here. I completely forgot about that.

I unlocked an achievement the other day but the notification did not pop up on screen and I first thought too that it didn't unlock, so I was wondering if I missed something. Later I checked the achievement list and it wasn't there anymore, so I unlocked the achievement but it didn't show on screen. Check your recently unlocked achievements. I'm on Xbox as well btw.

Now I understand why we have a 'slime' livery ^^

I think we have quite an impressive 2000cc class roster. I personally do prefer it over R5s. If only the C4 wasn't that dominant.

Some V10 R-GT action in DR2.0 would actually be quite awesome ^^

Yeah, that Star-Trek-esque sound is cool but it's fake. It is somehow connected to the accelerator input but still fake. You can also just turn the sound system on and listen to some recorded engine noise from a pitlane somewhere. It'd basically be the same. Same with programmed software to have those extra exhaust pops, bangs and crackles. I don't get the point of having something fake just for the sake of having it. Pointless.

I think we'll have to wait and see. After watching some of the Formula E races I can confirm, there was a lot more racing action and overtaking than in F1, it was so much more entertaining. I think people should give Project E a chance before rejecting the whole idea in my view. There will be prominent names driving these cars, just like in FE, so I don't think it's going to be boring.

I think the sound's not too bad. It just sounds like how you would think an electric car should sound. Not sure what else I should reply

Instant 1100Nm of torque is brutal. Jeez

PC1 development might've been difficult to say the least. Maybe you were treated a bit harsh by a moderator, I don't know @dgeesi0 Why shouldn't they listen to your advice if they grant you access to the forum to give feedback? I know at some point Ian also had a second mortgage on his house to help fund the project and he was using his private money to pay the devs so the story is a lot more complicated, it wasn't easy for everyone I guess. Anyways, these things happened many moons ago. I think if a renowned studio like Reiza choose the Madness Engine for their new game, it means they like the technology and they'll surely help further polish and improve it, and Codies can benefit from it, no doubt. SMS will also learn a thing or two so it's a win win in my view.
-
Both sides will learn from each other. I'm excited to see the outcome ^^

Yep, you're correct, CARS means Community Assisted Racing Simulator. WMD and WMD2 was a great program, it gave you access to various builds and to the forums, you could give feedback, discuss with the devs and develop ideas. PC2 is a lot better than the 'voice on the street' says. There's a lot of fake news around spread by haters. PC2 surely isn't perfect, it's a huge game with tons of tracks and variations, another ton or two of cars and features so the challenges were too much. Street cars, vintage GT A and B, vintage formula, vintage prototype A and B, Group 4, Group 5, Group 6, Group A, Group B, Group C, Touring cars, GT5, GT4, GT3, GTE, GT1, LMP1 2016, LMP1-H and non-hybrid, LMP2, LMP3, LMP900, Indycar, NASCAR, CAN-AM, Rallycross etc. Are you kidding me? I'm pretty sure I forgot a few classes. In the end Ian admitted they bit off more than they could chew. The depth of simulation and attention to detail is remarkable. Even air density is a thing, NA engines would lose power on high altitude tracks. Devs were even thinking about adding humidity which is a thing in Indycar but it didn't come to fruition in the end. ------------ Btw, Logitech G920/G29, pedals and shifter is currently at 150 euros on Amazon I think, for those who are considering getting a wheel.

Just caught up on the big news. Wow, there is truly huge potential to be unleashed. I'm wondering if Codies can benefit from the Madness Engine in some way. The SETA tyre model is one of the most complex and advanced in the industry for sure, the graphics are awesome and the dynamic weather system is amazing, and maybe the 'rumours' about a new TOCA game can materialize at some point. I'm a bit excited ^^

Do leaderboards ever get wiped if updates remove shortcuts?

Just to let you guys know, this is again the #1 ghost -
I can imagine what they have had to put up with the recent years. Apparently it has become unbearable and it's embarrassing. Time to stand up for more decency and respect and push back the endless toxicity and negativity.
