"Event Details" should be more readily available?
UnderclassGDfan replied to Beefcote852's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Well, I didn't know that...or forgot, doesn't matter. So it really doesn't make sense, yes. But quite sad, because initially I thought these one-time-shots should be surprise stages, so you really can't prepare for them for extra fun. Has absolutely nothing to do with "being the best". I just want a challenge, to have fun. That's it. I don't care about the others. Doing it without knowing what comes next is more fun to me than just prepare beforehand. But I already said it, I barely play the game anymore...about 10-20% of the playtime before september. I moved on to other games (non-racing games), because it got a bit boring to drive the same stages over and over again. I'm just here to see how finland rally is done. But hearing it doesn't even have rain as a condition makes me sad. Just playing the game without a goal or target is pretty boring in my point of view. I started playing games in the 90s. So the game needs to be challenging or I need a goal to have fun. -

I know, you won't like it, but I would prefer you can't see at all what's coming next, so you can't prepare. It's called a challenge, you know? The leaderboards are getting just another Time Trial-leaderboards, if you can prepare and practice before. It's not like there are no other modes, were you can easily choose, what's coming next. But oh well, since I don't do them anymore since september I don't care that much anymore anyway 😄 -

I believe it is on purpose you can't see what's coming next in the community challenges, so you can't prepare beforehand. -
DiRT Rally 2.0 - Version 1.9 Bug Reports
UnderclassGDfan replied to PJTierney's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0 Support
System: X-Box One S with latest Firmware & Game Version 1.9.0 Version: Deluxe + Season 3+4 pass Peripheral: None I deleted the system cache recently, to see if it helps (changed nothing) Graphical Problem: Theres more frequent black flickering through a stage run or RX run since 1.9.0. Especially during rainy/wet stages it happens 4-5 times per run. Looks really ugly and is distracting. It was present before, but now it happens really often. To be more precise: "black flickering" means parts of the scenery is pitch black for a split of a second. Happens at the start quite often. Can't provide video material due to technical difficulties. -

Ribadelles - Spain: Was quite good overall, but had some bigger mistakes in stage 1 & 6, so was a quite close battle with SkyRex, but I lost it. Had no chance against the 2 C4s in the default Impreza (2001), I still don't use any tuning-setups. Baumholder - Germany: I have to say, at that time I had absolutely no interest in playing this game for the first time. After I stopped playing community challenges and AI challenges, I also stopped playing career, time trial and other club championships. Only DRChampionship left. And I was close to stop playing this game at all. These graphical problems in rainy/wet conditions in spain and germany seem to got more often (black flickering for splits of a second) and look terrible. So I was pretty bored and not very focused. I'm pretty sure I didn't had a single clean sector in the entire rally. I had some really bad and st**id mistakes on the way. Was pretty sure, I would stop playing the game at all. Leczna County - Poland: My motivation was better here and I was quite good until I misjudged a corner, clipped a hay bale and crashed on the other side...puncture. Tried to finish the stage to safe time...another big crash with a big time penalty this time. Lost around 2 minutes in stage 2 alone. Had a pretty damaged car for the rest of the rally. Could have been really good, was quite fast, but lost a bit motivation after the first big crash and did st**id mistakes again. Monte Carlo - Monaco: Was really good I think. I had 2 90° spins pretty close to each other in the middle of stage 3. The car behaved...strange. Like an RWD with heavy oversteer. But except of that, it was big fun. @SkyRex I have to protest here. There is at least one driver, who competes regularly but changes his car pretty much in every rally. Just saying...rules are rules. -

Yeah, I failed again. I had no self confidence in my skills on stage 1. First sector was quite good, but after that I had several mistakes hitting stones and falling almost off the cliff. 🤣 The car was already smoking at the end of stage 1, so I knew it was over again. I had some smaller mistakes in stage 2 and already much less power. Stage 3 I did a pretty clean run, but the engine was even worse. Couldn't repair everything in the service area, so I had to deal with a still pretty broken car. The rest was "ok" so far, except a failed cut in stage 6 wich costed me 15 sec time penalty. I didn't expected to be competitive here, because I'm pretty bad in Greece. At least it was much better than Australia, no punctures and only 1 time penalty. But it was really fun to drive. I love the Impreza (2001) and Greece is really challenging. -

But in the last 3 rallies several people got 1 point!? 🤔 I get the impression it has something to do with the distance driven or with the total time differences between players... I don't know, I'm confused... 🤪 -

Well, yeah...I see. Probably right. Does the clubs work different? Because I don't see 30 points given to first place there. In our last rally in the DRChampionship first place got 14 points, so must be a complete different system 🤔 -

Makes sense, just a bit confusing at first. And the rally winner doesn't get rewarded this much by just getting 3 points more than 2nd. -

Well, my rage on monday was quite fast over. Still couldn't stop playing, despite trying to play other games. I stopped doing the daily, weekly and monthly community challenges and AI challenges, because it was just too much. So I focus now on the club races and bit of career. But well, I failed in Monaro - Australia heavily. It started with a huge crash at the beginning of the 2nd half of stage 1. From there on I did several smaller mistakes in stage 2 & 3 hitting the fences several times, just were out of flow. And at the end of stage 3 my car was so heavily damaged, that I barely made it through stage 4 with the car. I was so slow that I didn't needed to brake in the corners anymore 🤣 Couldn't repair much before stage 5 and the mistakes continued. Had another puncture in stage 7, so a minute on top at the end 🤣 I fear Greece really...chances I fall off a cliff is really high. I rarely finish clean here. -

Did someone get behind the scoring system in My Team Rally Career-Mode? I did 4 events in the current championship: Got 2 wins and 2 2nd places. 2x 25 points + 2x 18 points = 86 points (FIA points rules). But I have 114 points currently, and the runner-ups have 96, 91 and so on. I...just don't get it 🤣 -
How to play DR2.0 career with no bonuses?
UnderclassGDfan replied to HoksuHoo's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
I just want to make some notes here to @HoksuHoo: 1. There is 1 car you can only get once in My Team currently: BMW M2 Competition in Rally GT class. I hope you did not sell that car, because you can't get it back currently. If you didn't had the car yet, do a World Series event (Rally and/or Rallycross, doesn't matter, to get the car at the next weekly reset) and keep it. It's heavily bugged at the moment, so pretty useless, but oh well, maybe Codies will fix it soon. 2. Cars you get gifted have no statistics in My Team -> Garage -> Vehicle History. Maybe you absolutely don't care about that, but just in case: Many cars (the older ones) you can only buy as "used" and already have stats. These stats don't reset (FOR WHATEVER REASON) when you buy them, except the stat for distance travelled, wich makes this even more st***d. The only way to get "clean" stat cars is through CM when you get them gifted. The stats are partly broken anyway, wich is annoying. 3. While I get your point (and agree strongly) the part with beginner cars with free repairs make sense. I think the Fulvia and Corsa RX are these cars and you can't sell them. This is to eliminate the chances for a game over, so you can crash the Fulvia how often you like, you always will have a car to make money with, even if you don't have any. But this mentality of gifting money if you want or not is bothering me not only in this game. I believe it was one of the Forza Motorsport games were the people cried because they had to buy the DLC cars in-game with credits. I mean...what? That takes the satisfaction from me earning the car. I have currently 54.3 million credits in My Team and all available cars + all crew members and upgrades + all reliability upgrades on all cars + most engine upgrades. Well, I played the s**t out of the game since release, but still I would love some way to spend the earned money. The best thing would be a livery-shop for cars with ridiculous prices like 5 million credits per livery for a car. -
Peugeot 306 Maxi & Seat Ibiza Kit Car - Available now in DiRT Rally 2.0
UnderclassGDfan replied to PJTierney's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Is it me, or are the car info boxes in the my team garage complete inaccurate? Peugeot 306 Maxi: On the spec/power tab it says, it has 300 HP, but the info box says 280 HP!? SEAT Ibiza Kit Car: The info box says the car got homologated in 1996, but wikipedia says it came in 1995!? Though wiki doesn't have to be right, I know. But it also says it won the F2 championship title 3 times in a row (1996, 1997 and 1998). The info box says in 1996, 1997 and 1999. But wiki says Renault won in 1999!? This all counts for german language, maybe it's a translation error. But there are more cars with infos that doesnt match the spec/power tab (don't know how its named in english). -

Well...it wasn't really a battle, because you're faster on the first 5 stages, but I did my run before you and Baunau, so my opponent at that time was @SkyRex. I was only in the last 2 stages faster than you. I would've been 2nd place at the moment of writing. The finnish player Maraleisson had the same problem after the 2nd stage it seems. A huge time penalty, but his times were still quite good. -

Maybe related to: monthly challenges (with 4 events as an example) count 4 events started, but only 1 event as finished, even if you finished all events in that monthly challenge. You can see this in car statistics in garage in my team game mode. -

Are unreliable servers a "bug" in your opinion? Don't wanna troll here, even if it sounds like that, just wanna create a discussion about that. Is it only me, or are these servers really, really unreliable, especially on weekends? Yesterday I had in the middle of a club rally between 2 stages RaceNet-issues. I mean ***? Why is there no way to post the time later, if the servers have a problem in that moment? There needs to be a backup feature, in case RaceNet is down. It destroyed the complete rally for me and now I'm frustrated again, like every week at least once. But I see so little posts about the servers here, so I have the impression I'm just very unlucky with that... -

I decided to step back out of all activities from DR2.0 for the foreseeable future. Missed New Zealand - Hawkes Bay due to other games came out recently (TLoZ: Link's Awakening and Gears 5) and forgot the championship because of this. Now I tried to do the best and give all in Argentina - Catamarca Province and was first through the rally despite some small mistakes. But RaceNet decided to be a b**** today and DNFed my 5th stage despite having a time posted. Got several error codes after the 4th and 5th stage. But after the 5th I had to close the game, because it didn't let me do anything. You can see on the website: I have a time posted in all stages, but somehow got a huge time penalty on stage 6. So enough of this. I had enough frustration and disappointing experiences from this game. It is really, really sad, that this game is so good, but get hold back by RaceNet, several bugs and a crew behind the game, who really things to connect a game mostly to unreliable servers is a good idea. The RaceNet-Servers are garbage and can ruin your championship at any point, so it doesn't make sense to me continuing long championships, where the chances of this happening are so big. This had to be said. So, I hope you guys have fun, but I will take a brake for at least november. Will probably look at finland rally and will see if they finally fixed the car stats in my team, sound cutting out-bug and the garbage servers. And if, then I may come back. Until then I give my Nintendo Switch work to do. -
I see a british guy on 1st place currently. Can you also confirm, that "DiRT-Player" are PS4-players? The leaderboards are really confusing sometimes...RaceNet-names vs. platform-names is very confusing. Stick to one system, please.
-
I'm pretty sure it's your platform only. My leaderboards on X-Box One look different and no "DiRT-Player" in there this time. I'm not sure, but I believe every PS4-Player is shown as DiRT-Player for me on other modes (I use cross-platform-leaderboards enabled in options). Even if I'm right, that there are far less players and therefor less competition on X-Box One, I don't think I can qualify, not good enough. And I don't use unrealistic cut's like you have to do to win. Then I rather don't wanna win, it's stupid in my eyes. I do my best without cutting and take the car. I WANT THAT CAR! 😄

Event 7: Värmland Missed the Rally completely, had just too much to do at this time. It would have been a mess anyway, because I'm extremely bad there. Not really getting a feel for grip and the stages are quite fast. Car class doesn't matter, even in slower cars I spin quite often. Event 8: Leczna County Crashed in the first stage even before entering the twisty section at very high speed. Hit a tree...horrible crash, 3 punctures and it was over. Got automatically DNFed. Event 9: Monaro Won the rally pretty unspectacular, if I remember correctly. The 2 fast drivers somehow messed it up/didn't finished the rally, so I took the easy win. Baunau didn't competed in the rally, so I came closer in the championship. Event 10: Hawkes Bay I love the twisty long stage, I hate the other one. Always crashing there. But I won the rally again, wohoo 😄 I usually do the rallies in one go, but had heavy connection problems (thanks to @PJTierney not wanting my victory and plug out the server cable again), so I had a brake this time for 1 or 2 days after the 4th stage. Was a close fight then between me and Baunau for the rally victory and 3rd place in the championship. Had a smoking engine in the last stage, but still won the entire thing. I'm not sure how big the difference is between the Evo VI and the Impreza, I had the impression, that the Evo VI is a bit faster. Wished I had choosed the same car as Baunau to see the real difference. So thanks to me for 3rd place, everyone better than me cheated obviously, so I practically won it. Just kidding 😄 @DaleRossi I play also on X-Box One S, clubs work cross-platform, so join in! @SkyRex Glad you're back. I hope for even more players in the next championship 🙂 I choose for condition: Night + Heavy Rain. Yes, I said it. Deal with it. HAHA! 😄 As for the car class: Group B 4WD maybe? Or 2000s without C4 Rally...everyone would use it 😞
