I do. I have no clue about tuning a car and I'm too lazy to find out. The tunes don't make me quicker I would say, but the cars are often much more predictable. Well, it's the same outside-inside-outside-thing like in circuit racer I would say. The fastest drivers even cut often the tracks (wich shouldn't be possible, but that's another theme for itself). But you gane more time with throttle control and late braking. Just an indication how tight the corner is. Often is it the same gear number, but not always. Really depends how fast you reach that corner and what comes behind it. The car itself is also important, if it has a turbo with huge turbo lag or not etc. The "100 hundred" just means, after the 4 left a 100m straight follows. For me, it's mainly about the experience. Sure, some cars are not much competitive in their class (like the DS 21, Ascona 400, Manta 400, 240Z, 208 T16 R5 etc.), but they are good enough to win against the toughest AI with them. I'm pretty sure it says what benefit you get, when you upgrade them. It's basically cheaper repairs und the parts don't lose "power" that quick. Most players in the top tier memorized most of the stage. They are always things I forget, but the pace notes remind me then. Out of my head I only know the critical parts and some "special" areas you can easily remember.

Watched it in full. Nice work. I'm quite surprised, the 08' Impreza is 3rd in youre ranking. But this is maybe a driver preference. But I still choose the S4, because...it's the S4! 😃

I hope nobody picks the C4 or 07' Focus, at least the guys in my range, so we have a nice battle. The S4 is also my choice, obviously. Hopefully I can beat the curse and finally finish a rally without a puncture this time 🤣

My goal is still to beat Masters in a Audi Sport quattro S1 E2. But to make things a little more interesting: Hardcore Damage enabled and no restarts at any point. But yeah, unfortunately there is no record for beating Masters.

There is no option for that in-game. You can only filter by friends. There is also an option in the settings to include/exclude other platforms than yours from the leaderboard. On the web there are only leaderboards for the normal community challenge dailies/weeklies/monthlies. The promo/bonus and AI-challenges are missing. Also all other leaderboards like Time Trial and the Custom Championship etc. are missing, too. And everything that is available on dirtrally2.com leaderboard wise is time limited. So all dailies you did disappear after a week as an example. Even old club championship results get deleted after some time.

DiRT 5 looks like to ride on the Forza Horizon 4 bandwagon. Like The Crew 2 did. I hate both of those games. Awful bright colors, attention cars, attention disciplines, probably an annoying announcer, who screams in a microphone all the time. I think it will be an arcade circuit racer with simple driving physics and focus on the action and atmosphere. Another racing game for the Fortnite mayfly crowd. Can be a very good game, like FH4 in it's essence is, but nothing for me. I played way too many arcade racing games in the last 25 years to see any motivation to play this. I'm too old for that s***. The good thing is (how I understood the letter from Codemasters) that this doesn't effect the DiRT Rally-Franchise, so I just can ignore that game.

@Janneman60 Whatever it is, I choose the final rally as the safari rally.

There was a fix for something maybe related to this. https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/42848-dirt-rally-20-patch-notes/ But I wouldn't worry too much about not getting what you paid for, if it really happens to you. You can refund through Microsoft, if that happens. Microsofts/Codemasters communication to each other simply is the worst I have seen in my 25+ years as a gamer. There were issues with nearly every DLC in DR 2.0's lifetime, so I'm not surprised. I don't care, who is to blame for this, it's just laughable. But all of this got fixed and so will this, too.

The reason why I switched to Phil Mills. Very irritating for a native german, getting mixed languages as pace notes. It's probably because the german variants of "cut", "hairpin" etc. take much longer to speak it out, but it is still too much for my old brain 🤣 This and female voice is just too high pitched in general, getting headache after some time from it (I use a headphone) 😃

PJ even said that long before the patch notes came out, that we probably have to re-download the scotland rally location again. I expected a big size, so don't get the confusion here. Did a test run with the Escort RS Cosworth...wow, sounds awesome! Kudos to the audio team...once again! The Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 S4 22B RS500 is still my favourite though 😃 Tihihi...

Well, the same with movies and TV-Series. They just re-do all this media now, because most things are already done and now just get re-made. The entertainment industry runs out of ideas it seems. Or the managers behind it are too afraid of risks. So, Codemasters runs GRID and DiRT, because they don't have the balls for a new name. And it shouldn't come to an end at any time. Awesome woman. Only the german dubbing voice is AWFUL! Otherwise I would watch Friends the whole day 🤣

Well, what can I say? I crashed again. But this time I almost made it! 🤣 I crashed right before the end of the 2nd sector in SS7. The grip level was weird, I had fresh snow tires, but felt no grip at all at some places. I just slided around like crazy. Had heavy understeer in the first few slow corners right at the beginning, followed by a almost crash against a snow bank on the very fast section before the downhill-part to the 1 left. Everything okish so far, only 2-3 seconds down. Then after the 1 left and the small straight I lost control on the 5 right to 4 right section with these guard rails on both sides going uphill this very long straight...I crashed against that at full speed. Puncture, almost destroyed car...oh well. It ended like it began 4-5 rallies ago. Wasn't really able to do much here anyway. I could keep up with @Janneman60 most of the time, but a) he was slightly faster and b) when I was faster, I did some small mistakes here and there. Some bigger mistakes, too on SS2, SS4 and SS5. I'm glad this championship is over. Was a disaster all the way. Only Australia went good for for me. @SkyRex Yabby doesn't seem to be in this forum, how do you get his decision for next season? Hopefully the next class in some RWD thing, the only cars I can drive at the moment it seems. I'm horrible in all championships/dailies and weeklies in 4WD cars for some reason.

Nah, mate. There are bugs being never adressed, I know that for sure. Some of them really annoy me to this day. BUT! The support was really good the last year. Don't forget all the improvements to car audio, force feedback, free cars, liveries, DiRT Fish, a free location for season owners. All the things they changed because of feedback. And a shout out to @PJTierney, who does a very good job giving us information, we ask for. The only thing that is really shameful is RaceNet. So often a big fun brake over the last year. That really needs to stop.

By splitting it again? If they really want a 4th big franchise (after F1, DiRT and GRiD) they should change the name of DiRT and let DiRT Rally keep continuing the Colin McRae Rally history.

Err...the franchise is already splitted into two: DiRT and DiRT Rally. + DiRT Showdown as a spin off. For me the letter sounds like the next DiRT game won't have rally in it, so probably circuit racing in mud or something. Wouldn't even think of buying something like that...just saying.

The only 2 bugs that really annoy me are the stats bug (monthlies count more than 1 "events started" in car stats) and the broken windscreen mirror-effect on the S4 Rally (I posted in the bug report-thread). So really small things, but with a big impact to my experience. I stopped doing monthlies last summer to not ruin my stats. BUT since the next patch is coming out "sometime this year" (lol) I think I give up.

This is a quite expected letter. Still very disappointed, though. "seperate studio", "brand new experience"...the gamer in me says "oh oh, some bs will come". I expect a arcady DiRT 5 or (even worse) a DiRT Showdown esque spin-off behind those PR-blabla. The more it is away from rally, so less interested I am. The future of DiRT Rally sounds like we won't see a DR3 in 2020 and 2021 for sure. I hope they really, really listened to the fans and make a great offline single player career mode this time. We will see, but my expectation is extremely low now after this letter. @PJTierney Can you confirm there will be more patches after 1.14? Does it still make sense to post a bug report? I don't expect any content anymore, but there are still 2-3 (small) things I wanna see get fixed before the game rests in it's final state. Would be cool, because it looks like I will play the game for another 2 years.

Like always: crashed, puncture, ruined rally. Was driving very cautious and slowly, but still crashed on SS4 right before the last sector begins on that jump. Hit that stonewall after the jump on the right. So I had to do sector 8 + SS5&6 with a puncture and a completely broken car. Was driving the 2nd half of SS6 in 1st gear and had problems going uphill. I'm thinking of not starting in sweden and stop playing the game for a while.

I f'd it up again...this time T W I C E ! SS1 and SS2 were good, not the fastest runs, but I really tried the 90% pace thing. I even was going off gas on some places slightly, to do it save. Lost time here and there because of it, but it worked. But I lost focus quite early in SS3 and got a puncture in the front. Lost huge amount of time and pushed hard on SS4 and SS5, wich worked well until the second half of SS5, were I started making small mistakes, wich resulted in quite much time lost again. At this point I knew, I lost the battle against @baunau and was frustrated. The gap was too big, so I wasn't much motivated. Pretty early on a very fast 5 left on SS6 I crashed against a tree. I pretty much ignored that the tyres have not much grip anymore and slided to the outside. Front puncture again + engine/radiator/turbo/transmission/bodywork/wheel geometry damage. Everything so badly damaged, that I only could fix radiator and transmission. Pushed hard on SS7 with much anger in me. F this championship! F the Legacy! F my inconstancy! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!OABDÖKJVBFRVBNF<NVjb. Ok, thats it.

You obviously get only the base game without any DLC with that subscription. I recommend buying the GotY-Edition of the game for the full package. You missing around 50% of the game...more or less.

Was leading until late in SS5, were I crashed and got a rear left puncture. All @baunau's fault, because he forced me to push hard wich resulted in a crash against a tree coming into the wooden area in late sector 6 I believe. Was leading by 2-3 seconds by then, but I lost quite much time in the first run on that stage in that area, so I wanted to push a bit more. Everytime I try to push more, I crash. Maybe I should focus on finishing with 90% of pace to avoid crashes from now on. The next 2 rallies will be very important for me, because I doubt I can do anything in sweden...

Are there any other differences except resolution? I still use a 1080p LED-TV from 2012, so that wouldn't change anything for me.

Starts to annoy me, really. There is no way to avoid that theme in the last weeks, even the developers of a racing game feel the need to remind me every single day. Thank you, Codemasters. Many thanks.
