  1. A simple filter option for clubs on the dirtrally2.dirtgame.com/clubs/find-club-website would be very helpful to keep the players together.
I think for new players it's hard to find an active one through these more than 3000 pages of clubs.
Probably 90% of them have less than 5 members in them and/or are inactive.

    So my solution:

    - filter option 1: only show clubs with an active championship
    - filter option 2: only show clubs open to join
    - filter option 3: only show clubs with 10+ members

These would reduce the pages from 3000+ to less than 100 I think.

  2. Would be cool, if the DR Rally-Team could be confirming there will be a title before the CM-WRC-Games at some point in the near future.
I mean, until Codemasters gets the license, it is still more than 2 years away.

I don't expect something concrete, just something to look forward to.

Also some word on the outage yesterday would be nice, I missed a club run due to this and that not for the first time in the last weeks.
I hope this unreliability of the servers don't come back.

That's why I want physical. You already can't buy Horizon 3 or any of it's DLC, so at this point the only way to play it is piracy. Or maybe game pass.

Nope, these games also leave game pass.
Licenses expire for the cars, so they can't sell them in any way.
They could make longer agreements, but that cost more I think.

Forza games expire always after 4 years.
Next year end of september FM7, another year same time FH4.

  4. I could kick myself right now in the face, really.

After having a good SS1 and okish SS2 (one big mistake, but no crash), I had a terrible SS3 filled with mistakes.
    But still leading.

Had a pretty good SS4 and then came SS5.
Everything was fine until the veeeeeeeery long straight close to the end.
I lost the car under braking and was jumping towards the crowd.
    28 seconds time penalty.

But the car was ok, but I just did more and more mistakes in SS6.
    Was behind @Dytut by 00:00.060.

    Then SS7.
I was giving everything, was leading 0.5s after sector 1, 0.5s behind after sector 2.
Then I got nervous and lost the car in a corner, just sliding to the outside and got 24 seconds time penalty.
What I didn't knew, I was 0.5s behind @denim398, not @Dytut, so I would have won it, if I had not pushed so hard.

    FML! 😡😭

Yes. But if bringing them back comes at the cost of eating into time for adding new locations than ill respectfully pass. Even though personally I would like the old stages back. I honestly dont mind playing them again especially if they're even more realistic graphically to their real life versions. The reason why I want them back is because contrary to popular belief I actually dont want to boot up an old game just to play a stage in a racing game.

I mean. Realistically I wouldn't boot up old forza game just to play an exclusive track. I know it would only take less than 5 mins but nah.

I definitely want them all back.
Especially Scotland, wich is the best rally location I've ever driven in a game.
And I'm around for a while as a gamer.

Would be ok for me paying again for them to have them in the next game.
It's less work for the developers and more content/variety for the DR3. So win/win.

Imagine a club league championship with the option to choose from 19 locations. Awesome.
Nobody can expect 12 new locations for DR3, that's just not realistic with this level of detail.

And they never can go back to static track surfaces, track degradation is the best thing ever introduced and I want that to be evolved. too!
With the combination of better/more aggressive tyre options (more (or any) reasons to choose mediums over softs) that could be epic!

And an evolved clubs feature with more options to make them unique. Wohoo!

Nice. Nintendo did the same thing with the Wii shop. If you didn't download your digital purchases before it died, you completely lost everything you paid for. Although Xbox Live is still around, not sure about how that works for downloading stuff you bought before it was removed. That's the only positive I can hand to Steam.

Nintendo is really disgusting regarding online related things.
I saved all my purchases from the Wii Shop Channel additionally on SD cards as back up, so I'm good with this.

But they already started doing similiar moves on eShop for Wii U.
Pikmin 3 and it's DLC got removed on the day Pikmin 3 Deluxe got announced for Switch!
And Super Mario Maker will lose its upload feature at the end of march 2021.

It's just a matter of time, were they announce to close the eShop on Wii U and 3DS completely.
So nobody is able to buy classic Nintendo games anymore, just subscribe to their Switch Online model.
I could rage the whole day about that.

I HATE subscription models. I wanna buy and play my games whenever I want!
This is the reason I hate My Team in DR2.0. It's just a matter of time you can't play this anymore, too!

X-Box Live is (currently) better than this. You can still re-download all your bought stuff even if it got removed from the store.
In my case with GRID 2 it was just a stu*** system in place, because since I never downloaded the stuff related to the "All Access"-key, it isn't available in my download history, even if it should be available, because I own it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did a bit of this already. Not that I'm complaining tho. A bit of procedural generation could be used somewhere too. With finesse of course.

No, I want hand made stages. Procedural generated stages look always generic.

Microsoft pays for every game that appears on Game Pass, so that the player doesn't have to (outside of the subscription).

I read that statement a few days ago and understand it.
    But it is still bullsh**!
They just do it to push the service and they are the only ones, who can afford this, because they have almost endless money available.
They want to kill the option to actually buy the games, so you just have the option to play the game how they want, how long they want and as much they want. Total control.

This model will kill most small none long term service-games in the future.
There is no reason to produce single player-story driven games, because with this kind of service you need attention for the game for a long time.
Also all games with licenses like racing games will have a short live window, because car licenses will expire after a few years and the games get removed completely, if you can't buy them anymore.

As for Hotshot Racing, it's fun but given its intentionally arcade-like nature you'll have it figured out very quickly. I was able to "figure out" the way to go fast within an hour and challenge Expert AI right away. I wouldn't have bought this as I'm typically after more long-term experiences that last 50-100 hours, but it is a nice pick up and play experience. Should be good on Switch.

Sounds good. I love Outrun and I'm searching for a similiar experience.

    How is it?
I'm thinking of buying it for Switch.
Will never support subscription models, though.
Playing an indie game on Game Pass without buying it and moving on is pretty much a big f you to the developers.

In completely unrelated news, back in 2019 I got Grid Autosport free from GameSessions. They were attempting to be a middle man game demo/trial period service for Steam games. Shockingly, this didn't do well and they're shutting it down, but since I got the game through GS and didn't actually get a Steam key... I guess the game is just vanished. Which is cool.

And it's no longer available for purchase through Steam. Which is also cool.

Well, guess I'll just use the ol' Yarharr method.

    Remember kids, buy physical.

    I can top that.
Bought the complete GRID 2 DLC package (forgot the name..."all access" or something) on xbox 360 a few years back, but can't use it, because the content got removed from the store.
I only downloaded the key for the content, but not the content itself.
    So I payed for nothing.
Codemasters are big a holes regarding consumer support. And it will get even worse now with TakeTwo.

Regarding Stages, locations are the single biggest time resource in the game's development, taking up the vast majority of art time, research etc. I don't think having a full rally's unique stages would be viable unless you want a game to take 10 years to make 🙂

I'm all for a longer "parent Stage" though, which could then be cut up into 5, 6 or 7 "child" Stages compared to the 4 we have now.

I want my Star Citizen of DiRT Rally!

    I want super long stages.

For me the best solution would be:

Copy/Paste all of DR2.0's locations to DR3 and remaster them here and there. Combine the long stages to one big as an option, were it is possible (like New Zealand, Spain, Argentina, Monaco etc.) and put another 6 locations into the game (or an additional big (2 combined longs) for each existing location).
I think that is realistic, if the old locations don't need to be made completely from scratch.

At least this is my idea for the base game + post-launch content.
Expecting all this in the base game is maybe a bit too much.

Yep. Like it means anything. They might get a slight boost in sales, but I feel like if it went to DR2 it'd be a bit disingenuous to win a category for "continued support" months after the final update.

Just got Elite Dangerous for free from EGS. They released in 2014 and they're still updating the game.

So you forgot already the free Ford Fiesta R5 MKII last month?
And the last update with new engine sounds?

If there are any planned outages or big maintenances I'll post them via @dirtgame 🙂

Would be cool, if you would post it also here right in time, because I refuse to use any big social media website. Toxic garbage.

@connection: Game seems to work fine again for quite a while now, but unfortunately not fast enough for my club run, last two stages missing, due to time ran out. That's all your fault PJ, don't deny it! 😦🤪

dirtrally2.dirtgame is also working again, but took a bit longer.

Hopefully it's working tomorrow without problems, because I have to do my DRC-run to beat @somethingthing by minutes! Maybe not...

You can argue about mediums but the hard tire is pointless anyway.

Hm, on a 12 stage event without any service areas with every stage being a long stage?
I'm in a club were that is the case, using H3 RWDs.
I used hards in all rallies so far.
Having dead tyres with RWD cars isn't much fun.

    I tested now mediums.
Replicated everything as close as possible and...I was much faster.
I was 14 seconds faster on SS7 alone.

The problem is: I was also much faster on the first two stages with new mediums against new softs, wich is strange.
I was definitely more confident and was driving the car more on the limit, so I would probably need to do the same again on softs, too.
But I just can't anymore, it's too exhausting driving that car 😄

    I was 4 seconds in SS3, 9 seconds in SS4, 24 seconds in SS5, 4 seconds in SS6 and 14 seconds in SS7 faster.
But I had always medium deg I believe, but at least 1 or 2 of them were heavy deg in the club run.

I dont mind an event or two being locked to one specific car but it have gotten too much.
This is how it looks on available events that have one car as im typing this post:
    Daily Poland: Opel Manta

    Daily Scotland: Opel Manta

    Weekly Poland: Peugeot 306

Weekly New Zealand: Ford Focus 07

    Monthly challenge: Peugeot 306

Well, it's the 206, so not THAT bad 😜
But yeah, locking all events behind 1 car is maybe a bit too much.
Is it every day like that?
I didn't play much My Team lately.

  12. I cancelled my subscription from WRC+, because the xbox one-app rarely works (had 2 rallies without any audio at all) and for more than a week I couldn't access it at all.
A few days ago I tried to watch the "All Live" content of the last rally, but got error messages on my PC.
Tried onboard footage...freezed after a few seconds.

    Terrible service.

And since there is no footage on free TV in germany I believe, I can't watch rally at all 😞

To compare you should do the same srages with mediums. In fact you assume the mediums last longer, as far as I tested my opinion is they don't.

Softs start to downgrade after 2 long stages, so do mediums.

    That doesn't make sense.
Why then mediums (and hards) even exist, if they have less grip from the beginning, but don't last longer?
There is even a graphic showing that they last longer, if you choose them.

I don't say you're wrong, maybe the difference between the tyres is so small, that it doesn't make much sense to use the mediums, but maybe you are just more capable of compensating the loss in grip when it starts to happen.
I also don't know how big the difference is between dead softs and new/used mediums.

I could do SS3 to SS7 again on mediums, but I doubt I get a usable result, because my performance changes quite often and I would need the same stage surfaces because my performance is much worse on heavy degradation.

    @UnderclassGDfan

Silly question here, but I've got to confirm it. So you can continue your MyTeam save? Has it corrupted to a point where its unusable? I just want to work out whether its a savegame issue (which we are continuing to cover) or a more Xbox-related issue that is slightly different.

After that crash happened in the first training session going out of the box in belgium (crash to dashboard, auto-close of the game) I restarted the game immidiately.
Was going back to my save were it happened and it loaded directly into the first training session.
Everything was fine until the game tried to save at the end of the session.

Got a darkened screen with "Your save game is corrupt and we could not save, do you want to overwrite it?" (it was in german, so about that meaning)
I hit the first option several times without success. Then I hit the 2nd or 3rd option I believe (can't 100% remember, so I'm not sure) and I could continue.
After that it saved several times without any warning messages.
The same happened 1 or 2 races later again on the same day, this time choosing the 2nd or 3rd option right away and it worked.
Continued playing several races without any issue and making sure I got "normal" save icons in the top left corner.
Left My Team and restarted it from main menu the same day to see if the save is corrupt or had progression lost, but everything was fine.
Since then nothing happened again, could use the save file like normal for another several days.

    TL;DR
My My Team-save is definitely working fine.
Didn't played since 3 hours before the end of podium pass 2, though.
But it worked fine for 3 days after the problem.

    EDIT:
    @BarryBL
Reading the first post again I'm quite sure I didn't used the option "continue without saving".
I'm quite sure I used the option "overwrite save".
This is probably the reason I have a working save and he not.
We both had corrupt saves, but I "overwrite" mine and he just continued without saving...and with a corrupt save that means basically without a save at all.

But I remember beeing VERY unsure what to do, when it happened.
With such a critical thing you should not have 3 options available, the game should automatically overwrite the corrupt save and fix it that way.
I can't imagine a situation were someone would want to continue without saving, really.

  15. 1. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here.

@BarryBL This is not exclusively tied to version 1.13. I had exactly the same thing happening in my My Team-save in the second championship-season towards the end in belgium and 1 or 2 races later again (on the same day).
Had to hit the option several times to get it to continue, but can't remember wich one of the 3 I choosed.
I also unfortunately did not made a video and it didn't happened again since.

The game also crashed at the beginning of the first training session in belgium going out of the box.
Not sure if that is related to that.

All of this was 2 weeks ago, last week of the last podium pass. So version 1.12.1.

But I didn't lost anything, not the My Team-save or anything else.

The game seems quite unstable to me, had quite a few crashes and corrupt save game warnings over the months.

    2. Platform

    Xbox One S

    3. What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen)

Experienced on 1.12.1, didn't updated and played the game since the end of podium pass 2.
Also happened on several older versions earlier.

    4. Game-mode?

Happened in My Team, first save slot. 2nd season in belgium (22 race championship) and 1 or 2 races later the same day.

    5. We need to be able to make your problem happen internally so we can fix the issue. Can you make the problem happen again?

As a player you can't force this to happen. It happens when the game tries to save, but it is quite rare.
Had this several weeks/months before the last time 2 weeks ago on older versions of the game.
It started to happen after I created a second save for My Team, but it happened on the first save.
Not sure if this is related, because around the same time I started to play the game more intensively.

    6.   What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue. Do you have the latest drivers? Have you check your connectivity settings?

See 5. No chance to fix this or replicate it.
Console has always the latest firmware, also the game.

    7. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc)

Nothing else than a standard X-Box One S-controller.

    8. Please provide a video recording of your game crashing so we can see where the issue occurs?

    No.

    20 hours ago, Dytut said:

Yeah, after some testing on endurance events softs work better than mediums even for 12xlong stage events.

I'm not sure about that, guys.
I used softs all the way and from SS5 onwards I got huge problems with grip loss.

12 long stages in a row on softs? I don't know about that...
I'm not sure, if the tyres just have 3 levels of grip (new, used, dead) and never get worse after the third level, but even if that is the case, I'm not sure if I would have been not faster with mediums actually.
I struggled getting around corners, that were more than just a 6 or 5. The car just slided to the outside mid-corner and I had to almost come to a full stop not leaving the track, wich also happened 2 or 3 times.
But maybe I just could not adjust my driving to the grip loss, I don't know really.

All in all this was my best rally this championship so far in terms of mistakes and pace.
Still did some mistakes, but just small ones. But everytime I did a mistake I lost a bit confidence in the car and the sectors coming up were slower.
This resulted most of the time in sectors switching from green to red to green to red again.
From SS5 onwards I struggled hard with the car, because it felt I was driving on ice, additionally to the car bottom out at every bigger jump getting damage and jumping around like a kangaroo 😄

I also tried the RS200 in australia just out of curiosity, if I can handle that better.
Was a long time since I used it and immidiately was able to use it without making save brakes all the time 😄
Still a Group B-car and crashed at the end, though 😃

Hello to whoever it is that decide which cars we going to get in the bonus dailys/weeklies/monthlies: would you please let us decide which cars we want to use and not limit everyone to the same one, at least not always? It went a bit over the top since the flat out dlc got released. Thanks

I actually like it this way.
But it would be better, if they would do it on the normal events too and "open up" 2 or 3 of the bonus events.

The normal "old" events are quite boring, because they are always limited to the 6 base locations and base classes.
At least limit 1 daily and 1 weekly to one base car, preffered a weaker car what is not getting much attention otherwise, would be cool.

Unfortunately it seems we can only have restricted to one car or one class and not limited to specific cars.

A filter option for leaderboards, were you can see only the car you used on the board would have been also nice.
Gives a bigger incentive to you use slower cars from time to time.

I just imagined a DR2.0-designer looking at this thread and rolling with the eyes and saying "nerds...".
    Just saying 😃
